Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

50: Chapter 11 Research on Close Combat Means!

【Seeking Collection】_1 50: Chapter 11 Research on Close Combat Means!

【Seeking Collection】_1 The scientific investigation team in the forest, each of its members abruptly looked up!

Having been wandering in the mountains for two days, these people were tired.

But having come all the way from Shanghu to this border forest, they couldn’t just go back so easily—it wouldn’t be fair to the time they had wasted, nor to the funds allocated by the school.

Just when everyone was giving up hope on this mission, the organizer of the task, Instructor Lin from the Life Academy, suddenly shouted out.

A big mosquito?

Everyone looked up in surprise and disbelief.

They saw a giant black mosquito, about seven to eight centimeters long, abruptly flying across the sky and then disappearing into the bushes!

“Such a huge mosquito.” Teacher Chen from the media school, known as Chen Kuaiyu, had a shocked look on his face.

“How is that possible?

Could the so-called giant creatures really exist?”

Out of everyone, probably only Ye Tongyu was skeptical from the beginning.

She came along with the team just to take refuge, but now that she saw such a huge mosquito, she felt as if her previous strong beliefs were being overturned!

Could it be that there really were many giant creatures in the border forest?

As for the male student from the Life Academy, his first reaction after seeing the huge mosquito was to shudder.

He looked at the swelling on his own arm, hoping not to be bitten by such a huge mosquito.

Who knew how big the swelling would become.

“Great, today was fruitful, let’s step it up.

Seeing it with our own eyes is not enough, we must take pictures as evidence even if we can’t catch one.” Instructor Lin’s expression finally cleared up.

“That’s right, if we can find more evidence, our media school can also share in the glory.” Teacher Lin’s eyes also lit up.

The two students didn’t think so much.

Ye Tongyu was just wasting time, and the male student hated the jungle life.

People who aren’t mosquito magnets would never understand his pain.

“Alright, let’s prepare for camping tonight, and we will explore deeper into the jungle.”

For the past few days, the five-member expedition team returned to the residential area of the town for rest at night.

But this limited the search range to not exceeding ten kilometers around the small town.

If they camped outside, the search range would be much wider the next day.

“No way…” The male student seemed devastated as he was on the verge of tears.

Jia Yan was flying in the sky.

“Those just now were humans, right?

I didn’t expect humans in the jungle.

Are they tourists?

But they don’t look like it.

What are tourists doing in the forest?”

The border area has many tourists, but these are at some well-known tourist spots.

In this little-known small town and forest, the possibility of seeing tourists is quite small.

Jia Yan didn’t expect that this would be a scientific investigation team attracted by ongoing sightings of giant creatures around the small town.

Just a few humans, the world is not short of them, so naturally, Jia Yan would not think too much about it.

“My current flying speed is at least 50 kilometers per hour!” He checked his speed and was very pleased with it.

Although it’s far behind the speed of fast-flying birds, when compared to some small birds, the difference is not too great.

Moreover, Jia Yan could still accelerate under full force.

His wings, after the mutation, seemed to have changed in shape, and were more suitable for long-distance flying and instantaneous acceleration.

And those slender legs are now like crab legs, wrapped in a hard shell.

They are no longer soft and frail.

Jia Yan felt that his current appearance, although still resembling a Chinese Anopheles Mosquito, had significant differences.

He was several times stronger than an ordinary Chinese Anopheles Mosquito, let alone the size.

That is to say, even if there were a mosquito as big as him, it would definitely be several levels weaker than him.

“The feeling of power is too strong!

Now, let me see if I can develop any attacking capabilities!”

Finally, Jia Yan began to descend.

In about ten minutes of flying, he found he had flown at least five kilometers.

He was really fast!

He landed on a small tree branch as thick as a coin.

The heavy body made the branch sag as it landed.

Jia Yan found that his current weight had an impact on him.

The actions he used to easily accomplish seemed difficult now.

For example, a small mosquito could walk on water by using the tension of the water surface, but if he were to try and do the same, he would instantly be drowned with his belly up.

Of course, Jia Yan wasn’t that silly to try walking on water with his size.

That would be foolish.

“Of course, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks.

For example, I can’t even guess how long I’ll be able to live.

It could be years.”

“But this big body, without any offensive and defensive capabilities, could easily be threatened by predators.

So I need to think about what kind of offensive and defensive capabilities I can develop!”

Jia Yan began to examine himself.

He found that his first mutation seemed to be a kind of preamble, to enlarge his body and create some foundation first.

And his second mutation, the foundation set in the first mutation, began to show.

For example, the defensive power of the exoskeleton.

During the first mutation, his exoskeleton did change, but it just became darker than before, and the increase in hardness was not too much.

But after this mutation, he realized that the foundation laid by the first mutation had kicked in.

The exoskeleton inherited the black form from the last mutation and broadened the exoskeleton, thickening the shell to form the current robust exoskeleton defense.

With a much harder exoskeleton, his defense was stronger.

At the same time, he could also consider attacking!

“Let me test the hardness of my front legs.”

Jia Yan lifted his pair of front legs.

With a rub, a clear trace appeared on the tree bark!

Jia Yan noticed that the upper half of his front legs were sharp, also covered with scales and a hard exoskeleton.

Killing enemies with feet?

Jia Yan thought about it and then shook his head.

Not to mention that his front legs weren’t that sharp, but the fur at the front end of his feet, which was necessary for standing on smooth terrain.

If he used them to attack, these structures could easily be damaged.

As for the mouthparts, although the mouth needle evolved to be more robust, it might be comparable to ordinary steel pins.

But these mouthparts are vital feeding organs, and Jia Yan didn’t dare to risk them.

Besides, to attack with mouthparts, would he jab them into the enemy’s body like a dart?

That would be an amusing method unless the enemy was controlled by him.

He could then stab his mouthparts into the enemy’s body…

“Eh!

Isn’t that an attack method?

First, use the six slender legs to hold the enemy firmly, then poke the mouthparts into the enemy’s vital organs, such as…

the head!”

Jia Yan’s eyes lit up.

This method seemed to make sense.

Jia Yan’s body spanned about seven centimeters from head to tail, but his six long legs were even longer than his body.

When fully stretched out, they covered about twenty centimeters!

With such a large coverage, as long as his six long legs had enough strength, he could hold the enemy tightly.

Then, his sharp mouth needle could be spit out from the mouthparts…

And pierce the enemy’s head!

Mimicking the brain into a mess!

“This close-range attack method is really good!”

Jia Yan nearly jumped in excitement; didn’t he just think of an attack method?

Although this attack has many drawbacks and is full of risks.

For example, in close-quarters combat, would the enemy first bite off your neck or use long-range attack means to control you.

But after all, on a mosquito that had no offensive power before, he had thought of an attack method.

“This close-range attack method is indeed good.

Plus my mouth parts are so long, and the mouth needle inside is even slender.

Even if I spit it out and attack enemies one or two centimeters away violently, I may hit them.

Of course, this has turned into the previous plan.

Purely using mouthparts can easily damage this important organ…”

“So besides this, is there any other attack method!”

Jia Yan was thinking.

He lowered his head, and then suddenly saw the tail organ on his tail used for mating behavior!

This tail organ had mutated, and the pincer-like organ that only male mosquitoes had, which was originally used to hold the reproductive organ, was now hardened and sharpened!

“Needle?”

Jia Yan was startled.

After this tail organ mutated, it became as sharp as a bee sting!

Although it’s not as sharp and long as the stingers of bees and other animals, it’s about one centimeter long.

Because Jia Yan never thought that his tail would turn into this, he completely missed that his body, including this one-centimeter tail organ, was now eight centimeters long!

The function of the tail organ is to mate, but this function is virtually useless for Jia Yan.

The change in this tail organ seems to have happened because during the mutation process, it automatically provided the strongest protection for the vital organs.

And this protection formed the slender and sharp tail needle!

“This is good!

If it’s sharp enough, it will absolutely be a lethal weapon!”

Jia Yan controlled his abdomen to move.

He felt that the power of his abdomen was also enough.

As long as the tail needle that came from the mutation of the tail organ was hard enough, he could pierce the tail needle into the enemy’s body with a push of his abdomen.

He he…

‘inserting’ the enemy’s body with the reproductive organ, would that feeling be both sour and refreshing?

Ah, it’s too wicked, even the mosquito is blushing!

“But the abdomen of the mosquito doesn’t seem to be as flexible as that of the bee.

If you want to stab people flexibly, you need some practice…”

The study of mosquito attack and defense continues.

No one knows if this study will give birth to a powerful close-combat mosquito!

At least in the view of Jia Yan, there is great hope.

To be continued.
