The bespectacled young man was slow to type with one hand.

After a long while, Jia Yan finally received this message…

“Senior, to be honest, we’ve had a fall out with the organization!”

“That bastard Yu Yuan and his team went to an ordinary person’s home to seek revenge during their investigation into the death of the father and son of the Yu Family!

This was their special way of drawing us out…”

“You know the family.

Do you remember?

After you killed the father and son of the Yu family, you asked us to call the resolute avenging girl’s home, asking her family to pick her up in Shanghu!”

“Yes, her name is Jia Lin!

Yu Long and his team, suspecting that we were hired by the Jia family during their investigation into the deaths of the Yu father and son, went to Jia Lin’s hometown and broke one of Father Jia’s legs!”

“To be frank, we also once suspected that you had a relationship with Jia Lin’s family, so we had arranged for an informant from our organization to observe them.

After learning about the brutal treatment they suffered at the hands of Yu Long, we went against the organization’s wishes and went to the Jia’s, chasing off Yu Long’s team, and openly admitting that we killed the father and son of the Yu family.”

“So, we’ve broken away from the organization and can’t get any help from them.

After that, Yu Long carried on with his people, chasing us down all the way.

We originally intended to take refuge in Wa Kingdom, but they followed our tracks.”

“Senior, we are truly in a dire situation now, with both of us injured!

Please, for the sake of our past sincere dealings, help us!”

A large chunk of text was delivered with sincerity, and thoroughly explained the situation.

“What!!”

When Jia Yan read ‘broke one of Father Jia’s legs’, he felt a thunderous roar in his head!

Jia Lin’s father was his own father, Jia Yan!

Even though he had reincarnated and no longer cared about anyone in humanity, he had always remembered his family from before his rebirth!

“Yu Long?!”

How dare he break my father’s leg!

Jia Yan felt an uncontrollable urge!

Then he typed a line of text on the computer screen, and sent it.

He immediately turned off the computer power!

Then hastily shoved his laptop into the computer case and packed up all the necessary items.

Whoosh!!

Immediately afterwards, a giant flying creature flew out from the cliff cave!

Heading towards the south!

Meanwhile, across the ocean in Japanese Kagichi County, the bespectacled young man with a cellphone in his hand suddenly received a QQ message!

“You try to hold on!

I am now going to verify your message.

If Yu Long has truly done these things to the Jia family, his death is certain!”

Seeing this, the bespectacled young man finally smiled.

“Good, it seems my guess was correct.

This senior does have some connection with the Jia family!”

“In that case…

we must hold out as long as possible and wait for this senior to arrive.

I am curious to see just what his capabilities are.”

The bespectacled young man would never have guessed that this senior’s ‘capabilities’ were indeed high, high enough to fly to the skies!

High to the point of not being human!

I wonder if he would faint on the spot if he were to see the real face of his ‘senior’ and it turns out to be only a mosquito!

…

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!!

——

Jia Yan shot into the high sky!

Jia Yan was extremely anxious!

If there was anyone he still cared for in humanity, it would surely be his family.

Having been reborn for so long with no one to talk to, no one to relieve his loneliness and sorrow, Jia Yan was kept going only by recalling his past with his family.

Now that he had become a powerful mosquito, he wasn’t certain about others, but he needed to find a way to protect his family!

The reason was simple; he still retained the memories of being a human in his mind and his feeling for his parent was unchanged!

Protecting his family was something he had to do!

It was one of the few beliefs Jia Yan still held!

“Yu Long!” When he thought of this name, despite never having met him, the face of Yu Yuan appeared in his mind.

Whoosh!!

The Giant Mosquito’s form, agile and fierce!

Jia Yan had long forgotten his earlier warning about the attacks of three monsters – there were no attacks in the forest, fortunately.

Jia Yan controlled his body’s cruise speed to maintain a balance, adopting a gliding strategy.

He’d maintain his flight speed for a stretch, then wait for the speed to decrease.

Then he’d flap his wings vigorously to boost the speed again!

Even though there was some energy consumption, because of the rest period during gliding, by the time he flapped his wings again, some of his stamina had already recovered.

“Fly!

Fly!

Fly!!” Jia Yan roared, flying through the air, his compound eyes flashing with a faint light!

He had made up his mind to fly straight from the north to his southern hometown in one go!

A linear distance of over two thousand kilometers, Jia Yan planned to fly over it at his fastest cruising speed!

The concept of cruising speed is the fastest flight speed that can be maintained without exhausting all one’s strength.

“My speed is really very fast!

Plus, I’m traveling in a straight line, with just a few brief rests, I should be able to arrive quickly.

But I must make sure not to deviate too much!”

In Jia Yan’s compound eyes flickered a mysterious gleam.

Tonight was a full moon night, and with the moonlight acting as a guide, along with periodic landings to check his computer, there was no risk of veering far off course!

This time, considering the long-distance flight, Jia Yan flew directly to an altitude of around two hundred and fifty meters!

This was his first time flying this high.

Up here, cold winds gusted constantly; the chilling sounds were disturbing, much like the howls of ghosts!

The temperature at this altitude was even lower, almost dropping below zero.

Had it been an ordinary mosquito, it would have stiffened and fallen to the ground.

But for Jia Yan, who was fueled by rage, the cold was ideal, just right to cool him down!

Fly, fly, fly!

Tumen City was right underneath him, but Jia Yan only glanced at it before flying over!

His speed was too fast, and his altitude high enough, that people below could only see a huge ‘bird’ with a wingspan of two meters under the moonlight, swiftly passing by; none would imagine it was the giant mosquito making Tumen City the center of media attention.

After leaving the city, it would probably just become part of his past.

“I’m maintaining a speed of about 200 kilometers per hour.

This must be the limit of my current cruising speed!”

Jia Yan swiftly flapped his wings.

As his wings couldn’t be manipulated as effectively as a bird’s, he needed to forcefully flap a few times after gliding for around ten seconds to maintain speed.

Jia Yan’s advantage in flight was exceptional power!

He hadn’t tested how strong he was with his current one-meter-tall body, but if his wings were able to lift a body weighing thirty or forty kilograms into the air, it meant his wing muscles were certainly extremely strong.

If his speed decreased or altitude dropped, he would use his powerful wing muscles to vigorously flap his wings, boosting both speed and altitude again!

It didn’t take much time for him to cross the entire Tumen City region!

There was a regular train running below!

Seeing the train, Jia caught up with it from behind, swiftly overtook it and left it far behind!

“With this comparison, I really feel the absurdity of my current speed!

Maybe it’s not much different from the fastest flying swallow in the world.”

Jia Yan’s eyes shimmered with excitement.

This was his first long-distance flight, but he felt that he still had room for improvement!

This included his method of exerting force, ways to conserve energy, and even riding air currents – it was all a learning experience.

“Huh, there’s a current here, my speed is faster if I go up, and it saves energy!”

When he flew to a certain place, a current swept past his body, and Jia Yan instantly felt lighter!

The direction of the wind conveniently aligned with Jia Yan’s flight trajectory, so he simply twisted his wings, stopping their flapping, and ‘rode’ the air current!

He rode it for over ten kilometers before the wind changed direction.

Jia Yan twisted his wings again, flapped vigorously a few times to break free from the air current, and continued his flight!

Thanks to the rest he got by riding the air current, he felt his drained energy was instantly replenished.

“So, you can actually fly like this… No wonder some birds can stay in the sky for so long without landing.”

Jia Yan was quickly picking up the skills and tricks of long-distance high-altitude flight!

This was his first attempt at high-altitude long-distance flight.

By now, he had become considerably robust compared to ordinary birds.

His endurance, strength, and body defense were superior.

There were also downsides, such as his excessive mass.

At thirty to forty kilograms, no living bird was of comparable weight.

Had it not been for his herculean strength, flying would have been impossible.

Another drawback was Jia Yan’s rudimentary ‘breathing organ.’ After covering nearly a hundred kilometers, he felt the ‘breathing muscles’ on the sides of his air hole straining.

To be continued…

(I hope no reader condemns the theme of family bonds.

Although it’s just a plot transition, cherishing family values is a deeply ingrained virtuous trait of our Huaxia people.

I sincerely hope everyone wouldn’t abandon such values…

But this story will not be swayed by such filial emotions.)
