Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

51: Chapter 12 Two Hunts!

[Seeking Favorites]_1 51: Chapter 12 Two Hunts!

[Seeking Favorites]_1 “Talk is cheap!

All research must be put to the test through real world practice!”

Jia Yan suddenly spread his wings and took to the sky among the trees!

On that small tree, he had thought up several attack and defense techniques.

In fact, once you grasp some key points, these moves are easy to think of.

The first point is that he must flexibly use his long and incredibly hard six legs!

In nature, no animal’s legs are as exaggeratedly proportionate as those of insects.

Jia Yan’s one leg is about 0.5 times longer than his body, approximately ten centimeters.

When the six legs spread out, it’s not an exaggeration to say that they cover an area of twenty centimeters!

Which other creature of similar size has such terrifyingly wide-spread legs?

So these six long legs are key for both defense and offense!

Of course, it’s difficult for these long legs to be useful for attacking, so Jia Yan could only think of two offensive tactics!

The first is his mouthparts.

The mouthparts are long and the mouth needle inside is incredibly sharp!

Moreover, it can be shot out from the upper and lower jaws at the front of the mouthpiece, piercing into the body of the enemy!

Of course, there’s a risk.

The hardness of the mouth needle is not absolute.

If it accidentally hits the enemy’s bones, his mouth needle may not remain intact.

As for the upper and lower jaws inside the mouthpiece, although they have been greatly intensify, they are still too delicate to help much in a direct battle against enemies.

The mouth needle is one attack point, followed by an organ that appeared only after the second mutation!

It’s the tail organ found in the abdomen!

Originally, the mosquito’s tail organ is only for mating.

However, the male mosquito’s tail organ is wrapped with a hard substance like a clamp, which is kept ‘clamped’ when not in use.

Now, because of mutation, this organ has been enormously enhanced.

Perhaps it is a biological instinct for procreation, so the enhancement here is surprisingly the largest among his whole body.

That ‘clamp’ mutated into a firm and sharp needle!

Extremely hard!

Anyway, Jia Yan thinks he might not necessarily use this part in the future.

Since it has mutated into a needle, he might as well use it to sting targets like a bee!

However, this is a reproductive organ, I wonder if there would be a feel when ‘inserting’ it into a target…

Is it sour or spicy?

Cough, cough… I have thought too much.

After Jia Yan took off, he looked around with his compound eyes.

He found out his compound eyes had also vastly improved.

Before, he could not see clearly something a few tens of meters away, but now he could see the shadowy outline of objects about one to two hundred meters away.

Anything beyond that is just light and shadow, but it’s still much better than before.

“Let’s choose it!”

Jia Yan had spotted his first prey!

On the lush green grass, a greenish large locust was crawling on a leaf, cheerfully chewing on the tender grass.

This locust has a body length of three centimeters, which is not small, but compared to Jia Yan at present, it’s just a tiny speck!

Moreover, the locust doesn’t possess much attacking ability, so it could be a pretty good target to practice on.

Jia Yan flew over.

When the locust sensed a something coming closer, it already went on alert.

It crouched slightly on the leaf, ready to burst into the air at any sign of danger!

But it never expected that the approaching creature has such long legs!

When Jia Yan was about ten centimeters away from the locust, a pair of front legs had already shot out!

The locust was startled and tried to jump!

But it never could have predicted that the creature approaching it had legs even longer than its body!

The moment it tried to jump, the long legs had already reached out.

From afar, the legs directly landed on the body of the locust!

With a thud!

The locust tried to spring away, but the tremendous force of the long legs held it down onto the leaf.

At the same time, the other two legs of the creature also reached out to assist the front two legs in firmly gripping the locust!

The terrified locust struggled desperately, its powerful legs causing the leaf underneath to shake violently.

But the locust’s body was already pinned down by the creature, and it was now hanging mid-air.

No matter how it struggled, it was to no avail!

“Excellent!” Jia Yan looked at the locust suppressed by his four long legs, and his heart turned ruthless…

Stab!

He exerted force from his abdomen, driving the tail needle fiercely into the locust!

Crack!

The sharp tail needle stabbed into the body of the locust.

There was a strange faint sound of struggle from the mouth of the locust.

Of course, this might just be Jia Yan’s imagination.

At the same time, Jia Yan felt a strange sensation from his tail.

The feeling almost caused him to release the grip on the locust’s body.

Indeed…

You really do feel something when you insert such a ‘reproductive organ’ into a target…

As for whether it feels deliciously sour or spicy, let’s not say.

As a pure little mosquito, I’m a bit embarrassed.

Cough, cough!

The sharp tail needle pierced through the hard exoskeleton of the locust like it was nothing.

The intense force made it pierced right through the abdomen of the locust!

“Very good!”

Jia Yan was greatly satisfied.

He relaxed the four long legs that were pressing down on the locust.

But at this point, the locust was on the brink of death.

It fell on the grass with hardly any strength left, its legs trembling convulsively.

Jia Yan continued to fly.

Mosquitoes are not carnivorous.

Although he would like to change his diet, he doesn’t dare to try eating locust meat yet.

At least after the mutation, his body still has no interest in meat.

As for whether it will change to eating meat as it continues to grow, that’s a different matter.

He was purely training his combat prowess!

Having been hunted for so long, he wanted to have the ability to defend himself!

“A defenseless grasshopper is not enough!”

Jia Yan was flapping his wings in the air, appearing somewhat reckless!

“Cicada——cicada——”

Just as Jia Yan was looking for another suitable opponent for practice, a sudden annoying noise came to his auditory organs.

This noise was incessant, echoing every day in these woods!

“Cicada?”

Jia Yan was intrigued.

“The shell of a cicada is very hard.

I’ll give it a try.

If I can even kill a cicada, it’ll mean my combat power is pretty terrifying now!”

Jia Yan followed the sound and headed there by flapping his wings.

On a tree trunk of about ten meters high not far away, a thick-shelled black creature was making a racket.

This was a creature not unfamiliar to humans, the cicada, also known as ‘Chane’.

Its body length was not much different from that of the grasshopper he met before, all being just over three centimeters, but their body weight and thickness of the shell were not on the same level.

The shell of cicadas is exceptionally hard.

Their sound-producing organs are located at the base of their abdomen which can contract up to ten thousand times per second, producing loud calls.

Their defense is formidable, which also makes them more ‘arrogant’ than grasshoppers.

Jia Yan flew over quietly.

The cicada was also very alert.

When it sensed the approach of Jia Yan, the ‘huge creature’, it took off suddenly.

Jia Yan was not annoyed, because the cicada only made a symbolic escape.

It landed on another tree about ten meters away after taking off, apparently not being too worried about him, the ‘monster’.

Obviously, the cicada made a wrong judgment!

Jia Yan flew over again, this time he was extremely careful.

Getting closer!

The two were fifty centimeters apart!

The pair of wings on Jia Yan’s back vibrated fiercely!

His speed soared to the limit!

Like when a predator catches its prey, he dive-bombed, his speed was startling!

Crack!

In an instant, Jia Yan grabbed all six of his long legs onto the body of the cicada!

“Hmm?

I’ve got it really hard!”

Jia Yan immediately noticed the resistance from his six legs was very strong.

The power of this cicada was indeed incomparable with that of the previous grasshopper.

“Come down!” Jia Yan decisively exerted his greatest strength with his six long legs!

Without any resistance, the cicada was forcibly grabbed off the tree trunk by Jia Yan and held in the middle of his six long legs, impelled by the inertia of Jia Yan’s dive.

The next moment, Jia Yan controlled all his feet, maintaining his flight while wrapping the cicada up tightly from all sides with his six feet!

“What a great strength!”

The power of the cicada struggling to break free of its feet made it very difficult for Jia Yan to restrain it.

Fortunately, his six long legs were long enough, and their strength absolutely suppressed the cicada, preventing it from breaking free!

The cicada switched to a different strategy.

It started to flap its two pairs of wings frantically!

You should know that the wings of cicadas are very large, not only covering a large area, but also their power is relatively terrifying.

“Damn it!” Jia Yan felt a bit overwhelmed.

It was not that he lost his grip on the prey, but the cicada’s wing flapping disrupted his flight balance.

The two creatures started to plummet instantly.

“Die!”

Jia Yan gave up the attempt to control the other with his feet.

His mouthparts were right at the cicada’s brain, and then the mouth needle shot out from it!

He was sure that his mouth needle was extremely powerful from mutation.

However, whether it could pierce through the cicada’s hard shell and stab straight into its head, he wasn’t sure!

Zizz!

A clear sound ringing in Jia Yan’s auditory organs.

The struggling body of the cicada flapping its wings almost stopped all at once, and then its body began to twitch uncontrollably…

Jia Yan knew he had succeeded!

His mouth needle could indeed penetrate the hard head shell of the cicada, pierce directly into its brain, and scramble its brain!

The cicada twitched, gradually losing its movement.

“Very good!

Both of my attack strategies have met my preconceived notion!”

Jia Yan discarded the cicada wrapped in his long legs, which had already lost its signs of life…

The cicada may be innocent, but isn’t it very normal for creatures in nature to be hunted and killed?

It’s survival of the fittest.

Having even killed humans before, Jia Yan wouldn’t care about the life of this cicada.

Don’t blame him for being cold-blooded, after he became the extremely weak mosquito, if he still had that kind-hearted human attitude of protecting ‘small animals’, Jia Yan would have died countless times already!

Now, he was just exhilarated!

“I finally have real offensive and defensive methods!

Haha!”
