Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5068 Cannot Afford To Offend

The atmosphere in the street instantly became one of a spark that could explode rather badly.

Everyone could instantly tell what was going on.

It was a threat, a bold one.

So the rumors were true that the handsome fatty offended Thousand Windblades and, by extension, Saint Riyal Mendez. It was unknown if Saint Riyal Mendez had entered the city, but even before that, there was already someone here going out of their way to threaten him.

”Autarch brat, do you think you have the strength to provoke us?”

The subordinates of the handsome fatty instantly turned furious as they pointed at him.

The handsome fatty raised his hand to stop them, causing them to momentarily pause. He gazed at the white-robed young man with a peculiar gaze.

”You do understand that I could just kill you and make a run for it, right?”

”…”

The white-robed young manʼs pupils dilated.

He took a step forward from leaning on the wall and adopted a respectful posture this time around.

”My apologies. Senior Thousand Windblades wanted me to threaten you so you would not have a good day. He also clearly said that he would deal with you to show what happens to the major powers here when they offend them.”

”Courting death!”

The subordinates roared, each one revealing their Level Nine Autarch Stage undulations, all powerful enough to be considered a genius. Two of them were Primarchs. It could be said that the fatty treated them well.

Blood dripped from the white-robed young manʼs nostrils.

He staggered two steps back, hitting the wall, but this time, he was scared shitless, barely able to remain standing as his legs kept quivering. He raised his hand and pointed.

”You- Iʼll remember this…! Just you wait!”

He dropped such a classic line that made the subordinates dumbfounded before they looked at each other and laughed out loud along with the handsome fatty.

”Pfft! Hahahaa!”

They laughed uproariously, and even Davis couldnʼt help but laugh along with them.

For a supreme genius to be sent running with his tail between his legs and nearly crying, Davis was amused.

He didnʼt think he would see such a sight.

After all, even Exalts and Primarchs wouldnʼt dare harm a supreme genius when their power is just nearby, but clearly, the Handsome Giant Consortium wasnʼt afraid.

”Brother,” The information broker opened his mouth at this moment, his expression grim, ”Thatʼs the Young Master of the Grayscale Poison Hound, Pretzen Grayscale. Heʼs two generations older than the current batch of supreme geniuses. Rumor has it that his prowess is seven levels higher in the Autarch Stage. That is a prowess that canʼt be looked down upon. Heʼs a supreme genius. As a Level Nine Autarch, Iʼm afraid heʼs only a step away from becoming a Supreme Primarch.”

”I know.” The handsome fatty chuckled, ”The Grayscale Poison Houndʼs light-poison attribute is famous, but ever since their higher-ups offended the Hexadra Clan, they fell from grace. I guess theyʼre making a comeback by latching onto the legs of Saint Riyal Mendez. But really, is becoming a Supreme Primarch so easy? Even if he becomes a Supreme Primarch, so what? He would still not be a match for yours truly~”

The handsome fatty patted his stomach, causing bubbly waves to ripple across his skin.

”Haha… thatʼs right…”

Hermit Blackflame Pillar and Grand Mountain Crusher laughed wryly along with a few others.

Like the handsome fatty, they didnʼt care about Young Master Pretzen Grayscale nor the Grayscale Poison Hound Clan, which was clearly more powerful than them. What they were worried about was Saint Riyal Mendezʼs entourage and their backers, the Hexadra Clan.

It was unknown what lengths the Hexadra Clan would go to satisfy a Saint, so they felt it was better to leave while they still could.

After dining in a restaurant and eating with relish, Hermit Blackflame Pillar, Grand Mountain Crusher, and a few others eventually bid farewell and left.

”Theyʼre not going to return, are they?” Davis asked while savoring a bone, his teeth easily cracking an Exalt Grade Magical Beastʼs bone just like that.

The handsome fatty was initially surprised, but he still couldnʼt get used to it. After all, even if the bone was cooked and softened a bit as a result, it was still a bone belonging to an Exalt Beast. How could it be broken by the teeth of a Level Three Empyrean?

If it were a Level Nine Empyrean, he could still understand, but a Level Three Empyrean?

It wasnʼt like this ʼDragonʼ possessed the same Metal Crunching Teeth Physique as him, right? It didnʼt seem like that.

He felt Dragon was wearing an artifact that faked his cultivation instead. After all, the other party still wasnʼt showing his face or revealing which power he was from.

”Yeah, they arenʼt.” The handsome fatty sighed, ”They will probably send me letters or inform me through informal communication that theyʼre leaving the consortium. They might even pledge allegiance to the Saint to just get the notoriety caused by me off of them.”

Davis chuckled, ”Why are you letting them go then? Wouldnʼt it be better to eliminate backstabbers?”

”What backstabbers? It hasnʼt even been a week since they joined. If they want to leave, let them leave. The loyal members of my consortium donʼt need them.”

The handsome fatty sneered before he continued, ”How infuriating. Since Thousand Windblades wants to deal with me, Iʼll see how he deals with the Divine Emperor of Death when he comes for his head. That fucker really doesnʼt know who heʼs dealing with back then and even now. He wants to rattle a place he couldnʼt hope to offend. Iʼll kill him if itʼs the last thing I do before fleeing this place with an intact set of teeth.”

Davis nodded lightly. He felt that the handsome fatty really got guts as he felt like the latter wasnʼt being boastful.

”Speaking of which, Dragon.”

The handsome fatty softened his tone as he turned to look at Davis.

”Arenʼt you scared? Itʼs better for you to not be seen by my side anymore.”

”I donʼt think they can afford to offend me,” Davis said with a lazy curl of his lips, sipping on a sweet drink.

The handsome fatty blinked before he pointed at Davis and laughed, ”Youʼve really got guts, ah! I guess itʼs not a loss for me to acknowledge you as my brother. Just so you know, I donʼt call anyone my brother easily.”

”I know.”

Davis nodded.

The handsome fatty didnʼt call Hermit Blackflame Pillar and Grand Mountain Crusher with such a term. Instead, that random information broker was the only one the handsome fatty called a brother, and that broker wasnʼt anyone strong at all, since Davis guessed that he was Level Nine Empyrean with probably no battle prowess.

Clearly, the fatty didnʼt call people brothers for their strength but for their trustworthiness and dependability.

Although Davis was still in a disguise, he felt like he fulfilled the dependability criteria as a business partner who owns a power. His act of instantly gifting a Peak-Level Transcendent Crystal Vein Core seemed to be the right decision to get an influential person to start trusting him that he was here to do business and wouldnʼt easily switch sides.

He could even feel the Hermit and grand fatso feel irritated or envious when the handsome fatty called him brother.

”Itʼs better if you leave. You just came in and wouldnʼt be associated with me.” The handsome fatty suggested.

”Hard to say.” Davis shrugged, ”Besides, I told you that they canʼt hope to offend me, not even Saint Riyal Mendez.”

The handsome fatty looked taken aback before his cheeks puffed, ”Are you the Divine Emperor of Death?”

”…”

”Thought so. Since youʼre not the Divine Emperor of Death, you canʼt make claims like that.”

”Heh!” Davis sneered, ”Are you saying that the Divine Emperor of Death can claim that when all he can do is run around?”

”Hoho, what do you know? If the Divine Emperor of Death appears and announces that he is here, then even the Supreme One will pay a visit. You think such a character canʼt claim that Saint Riyal Mendez canʼt hope to offend him? Haha, trust me. At that point, it will be a question of whether the Saint could afford to offend him.”

”The Divine Emperor of Death is a farce. I will slap him when he shows himself.”

Davis said with a flushed expression, looking passionate.

”Whah!” The handsome fatty grabbed his chest, ”It seems like I must run from you instead of you leaving us.”

Davis chuckled as he raised his hands in surrender, ”Youʼre the one who said that I donʼt need to worry about implicating you.”

”Guess Iʼm stuck with you for the time being then… jeez, what a scam.”

The handsome fatty sighed, thinking his new brother most likely had a severe problem of self-overestimation in this mood swing or split personification.
