Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5054 When Would It Appear?

Davis and Evelynn passed their time simply bantering as husband and wife. They had a lot more to discuss, but most of the topics revolved around their children.

Lydia seemed to have completely integrated with the family for the most part, as everyone now more or less trusted her despite her being a reincarnated soul. With Arc taking care of her, there was nothing to worry. Furthermore, Arc himself had started progressing in the Astral Cultivation Path.

He had the opportunity to glimpse Arcʼs cultivation session before he left for this realm. After all, he had some time after dual cultivating with Aila, Panqa, and Lanqua. He used whatever time he had left to prepare a lot of things for this journey, interact with his children, making sure that their cultivation was on track, stamp on a few documents that required his attention more than the others, deal with a few hidden threats in the Golden Radiance Continent, before finally leaving.

One of the threats was the Great Fiend, with whom Warsten Xsan was connected. However, they hadnʼt dealt with them yet, letting them prowl around while they were constantly monitoring him. This wasnʼt the time to antagonize someone of that stature. There was no telling if it was just a person or an avatar. If it were the latter, then they might expose their home in retaliation.

Other than this issue, some of his children went to take a look at the Throne Selection Tournament of the Auros Family. It was none other than the imperial family of the Golden Radiance Empire. However, it was already firmly under Zenova and Mingzhiʼs control.

The smart prince and princesses of the Auros Family knew something was up since there was a disaster during a banquet, but they couldnʼt find anything even if they wanted to, since Mingzhi and Zenova had enslaved the upper echelon of the Auros Family. They wouldnʼt be able to meet their Deity Ancestor even if they wanted to, so they felt that their Deity Ancestor had killed everyone who attended their banquet back then.

That was their only line of thought at the moment until it all unraveled later.

Therefore, he had no idea why some of his children were going there to take a look, but he didnʼt block them either, since it was essential for them to experience the world. He couldnʼt have them locked up in the sanctuary forever, for it would be nothing but an artificial experience. It could only allow them to grow to a level, after which it was in their hands to nurture their Will.

As they were bantering happily, a person flew up after noticing the two of them from the confines of the courtyard of the mansion.

Davisʼs eyes gleamed as he looked at Lereza.

Although she wore a black robe to conceal her features diligently, her bust couldnʼt be hidden. However, his focus was more on her height. He felt it was a pity that he hadnʼt seen her true height since she had changed her height to adapt to human society.

Initially, he heard the rumors of how she had a growth spurt in height when she entered the Exalt Stage. However, he was surprised to learn that it wasnʼt eight feet tall but eight meters tall!

He wondered how a eight meter tall woman would look like as he raised his hand.

”Hey, Lereza. What are you up to? Want to go get some breakfast with us?”

He waved to her while his voice was natural, as though he was greeting a neighbor, leaving Lereza speechless.

”Are we not leaving yet?” She asked.

These two seemed to be in no hurry, as though they were on a vacation.

”Whatʼs the hurry? I told you before. Haste makes waste. I sent my avatar out last night for reconnaissance. Will return soon with intel.”

Davis didnʼt maintain an active connection with the Verdant Vitalis Avatar, but even went as far as to block it. In case the avatar screwed up, it would be time to leave. Even if his avatar faced a karmic attack, it wouldnʼt necessarily kill him. With his reincarnation-attributed physique, he was capable of stopping karmic attacks midway, even if they bypassed the blockade.

”I donʼt mind, but donʼt act too frivolously in front of the Saintessʼs disciples. We should show them due respect.” Lereza advised.

”Donʼt worry about them. They are of the mind of returning if I donʼt force them, so they would be glad if I did nothing.”

Davis shrugged before he gazed at Lereza keenly, ”I didnʼt see your true form before. Can you show it to me?”

”You wish~”

Lereza huffed before she escaped.

”Why are you bullying her?” Evelynn laughed lightly, ”She isnʼt even using her cloud to travel, as she is trying to blend in here as you wished. She might also be conscious of her newfound height. Unlike you, who hadnʼt changed a bit other than here, we feys all experience anxiety from the change in our appearances.”

Davis grinned. He liked bullying Lereza. Nonetheless, he had a dubious expression on his face, ”Evelynn, do you think-”

”I know what youʼre thinking, you rogue. Just as Zenova said, your heart is full of desire that you didnʼt dare show before she arrived.” Evelynn rolled her eyes.

The harem members werenʼt the only ones affected by Zenova, but even before this, she knew he was having a hidden relationship with Frostrose. As the big sister, she could only cover for him for so long since she felt guilty of hiding it from the others, so the fact that Davis still hadnʼt revealed it to the others yet meant that his desire to enjoy new kinds of relationships was getting bigger.

”I havenʼt even finished yet…!” Davis complained.

He still wanted to explain that he hadnʼt eyed the maid whom he had tripped. It was a misunderstanding!

Evelynn raised one of her brows, ”Didnʼt you want to ask me if you could pounce on Lerezaʼs big bosoms and treat them like a fluffy cloud bed?”

Davisʼs expression was steely, ”Yes.”

”Yeah, I also want to try.”

”…” Davis went speechless.

Evelynn teasingly smiled at him, ”Whatever it is, donʼt bully Lereza. Even though sheʼs an adult, sheʼs still a child at heart, as she didnʼt have anyone to interact with for such a long time while she studied under the World Masterʼs guidance. She has no one to rely on but you and Myria. Even if she possesses feelings towards you, you must resist until it becomes irresistible.”

”I know.” Davis said solemnly, ”When we go back to the World Master, I want her to know that her decision to trust me was the right one. Iʼll protect both Lereza and Saintess Lunaria.”

”What would her world open?”

Evelynn narrowed her brows with a worried look on her face. She still remembered the World Masterʼs last words to her.

[Shirley, thereʼs more to icefire than just crystallizing them. Isabella, you may have successfully comprehended Rumbling Laws, but they are a mere stepping stone to something even greater. Evelynn, you…]

[You are dangerous. I sense even more of a disastrous nature from them than any of the wicked people I met.]

[Sorry… I didnʼt mean you were becoming evil, but I meant the birth of a wicked power even more than Death Laws or Decay Laws. You could become an Anarchic Divergent if you continue to follow this path youʼre taking… but I guess that wouldnʼt stop you from supporting him with your abilities even if it meant corrupting yourself.]

[Then itʼs time to say goodbye.]

[Needless to say, thereʼs another motive why I made this projection, and that was to plead for you three to personally convince him to save me as he promised. Perhaps… that would disallow him to forget about me with all the suffering he would go through soon…]

[Donʼt take it wrongly. I wish for his success so I could survive… Even if he becomes stronger and can protect himself, I will ultimately meet my demise if he doesnʼt arrive in time. Right now, Iʼm probably no different than a woman on her deathbed, lacking all comfort and health, so I donʼt mind abandoning my pride and lowering my head if it means I could live again. Davis Family, please save me.]

[I will be waiting…]

The World Masterʼs last four words had left a profound impression on her. At that time, Isabella and Shirley were also present. They had all felt that they had connected to her at the soul level at the moment, since they were also targets the world wanted to kill.

Evelynnʼs lips curled in sorrow, but it also carried some irony.

She had become an Anarchic Divergent as the World Master mentioned. The World Master also said that she would have calamitous powers, and knowing what she was capable of now, she had no doubt that her powers would only grow more calamitous from now on.

Her Hexweaver Technique was truly terrifying.

”I donʼt know. Itʼs been more than a decade.” Davis sighed softly.

If the portal to her world hasnʼt appeared, then it was time it could appear, or something mightʼve gone wrong. In the end, he knew he needed to save the World Master before time ran out, or it would be too late to save her even if he had the means to do so.

At that time, he could only awaken her disincarnate soul, even if he succeeded, which he guessed would have nearly nothing to do with her Soul Quintessence because she would be nothing but a soul made up of resentment. As for her Truesoul, it mightʼve gone to the reincarnation cycle or forcefully severed already. Sure, the ghost could be capable of cultivation with his help, but at that moment, it would be harder to differentiate whether she was the true World Master or not.

It would be no different than the case of an avatar going rogue.

”Alright, itʼs no use thinking about these things.”

Sensing the atmosphere turning gloomy, Davis grabbed Evelynnʼs hand and went back in before going out of the house.

But by this time, Jaiyan, Laphria, and Fairy Qiyra joined them for breakfast.

They went to a nearby restaurant and ate their fill with relish. After this, they wouldnʼt have any problem with hunger as long as they lived here due to the Ethereal Lumina Tree. Although they were Divergent Exalts who werenʼt able to absorb heaven and earth energy in copious amounts, they had also devised some methods to extract energy after living for so long.

It wouldnʼt be a problem for them to maintain their energy levels as long as they donʼt engage in battles and other strenuous activities.

It wasnʼt long before they returned, but all members had already gathered in the hall.

It was obvious that Davisʼs avatar had already returned.

They got debriefed again when they all turned shocked, but Davis had reconnected with the avatar, so he was the first one to know, which left him dumbfounded.

Thank you Solomon and Jae for Dragon and Magic Castle gifts.
