Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5053 Twins Again?

Davis and Evelynn walked out of their room.

The door closed behind them with a soft sound as they arrived at the balcony.

A gentle breeze filled with dense and refreshing heaven and earth energy flowed past them, cool yet invigorating, even as these strands of energy fled from them after coming into contact. He turned to look at Evelynn as he watched her hair sway gently in the breeze.

They stood side by side, a faint smile still present over Evelynnʼs lips as she kept hold of him.

Clearly, the afterglow still hadnʼt worn out as she felt like a woman who didnʼt need to worry about anything in his embrace, but more importantly, didnʼt have to deal with her little sisters and could be her true self, a sweet wife.

Then, as she recalled that she was the only wife here in this entourage, her gaze flickered, ”Oh, let me make breakfast for you.”

”Donʼt bother.” Davis instantly held her back, ”Weʼll eat out sumptuously. As much as I want to eat your cooking after a long time, I want to savor our time as much as possible.”

”What? Are you afraid Iʼll poison you again?”

Evelynn gleefully curled her lips, causing Davis to chuckle.

”Have I ever been afraid of your poison. Of course, donʼt use the treasure or Iʼll die for real.”

He raised his hands up in surrender, making Evelynn giggle.

Originally, she didnʼt like to engage in berserk behavior while being passionate in bed. She still didnʼt like it, but she accepted that it was hers. Her new mutated bloodline really made her murderous. Thanks to the self-acceptance, the night she spent with Davis was otherworldly. Regardless, with him by her side, she knew she wouldnʼt lose control since she had enough opportunities to practice discipline.

Now she had become more in tune with her bloodline.

However, she felt apologetic for making Davis worry too much about her.

”Iʼve caused trouble. If I werenʼt a fey, there wouldnʼt be so many problems.”

She raised her hand and lifted a few strands of her hair that became much different than before. From green, to purple-green, and now purple-red. There were even some silver strands at the tip of the hair. Where did her green hair go?

Was she even the same person?

Evelynn had mulled over this a few times, but didnʼt overly worry. She was only worried that Davis would find this new appearance not to his liking, but it seemed like there was no need to have even considered that, since he went crazy on her last night.

Davis chuckled, ”Is there any other wife who keeps her husband entertained with a new look every decade? Itʼs not dressing up as someone else but changing flesh, scent, aura, and many other factors, like the hair. I wonder what your next appearance will be when your bloodline evol- ow-ow-ow!”

Evelynn pinched his arm without mercy, but she knew this rogue felt no pain.

She was sure that if she could spend a few more days with him, entering Level Six Empyrean Stage quickly might not be exaggerated at all. He was ridiculously strong.

Even as a Level Three Empyrean with a battle prowess thatʼs thirteen levels higher, she still couldnʼt hope to match him. In fact, even if she became a Level Nine Empyrean, she still couldnʼt match him in combat. She couldnʼt fathom how one could be so strong, but she was as proud as a high swan when she realized this rogue was none other than her husband.

Of course, her prowess could still go higher as long as she spent time comprehending Hex Laws.

However, she felt their time was limited, so she couldnʼt bear to part with him. Besides, she didnʼt have the confidence to best him in terms of prowess, so she could only make haste with her cultivation.

Suddenly, she saw Davis frown.

When she saw that expression disappear, Evelynn quickly asked, ”What is it? Have I pinched you too hard?”

She looked at him with an apologetic look. Even if he didnʼt feel any physical pain, she couldnʼt say much about mental pain.

She caressed the place where she pinched him, causing Davis to laughingly shake his head.

”No, I just recalled you look just like Hexena again after taking in her new mutated blood. Sigh, she looked different after she became an Evilbane Hexweaver Arachnid way earlier, but now…youʼre back to looking like identical twins again.”

He shook his head, ”I guess I canʼt have someone possessing the same face as you. Should I help Hexena change her bloodline again?”

Evelynn was speechless. This rogue was interested in having Zenova and her together than Hexena and her.

”Whatʼs the use?” She laughed lightly, ”Whatever Hexena becomes, I shall follow. Our fates are interconnected. Now that Iʼm following a unique bloodline path with her, it will be difficult for me to take a step back.”

”Thatʼs true.”

Davis nodded. Even with Everlightʼs regression technique, it would be difficult for Evelynn to start anew. After all, Everlightʼs technique wasnʼt one of time, even if it contained time aspects. It was a life-attributed technique before it could be considered anything else. Therefore, Evelynn might still be a fey even if she regressed to being a child.

It would be very difficult to change the aspects of the soul and body after they are karmically established.

”Arenʼt you going to court her?” Evelynn suddenly probed.

Davis looked ahead.

Cultivators moved along the streets in steady streams.

Unlike the chaotic movement of the outer city, there was a refined outlook here, as though each step of their movement carried intent. Robes of various colors drifted past, some adorned with insignias that marked affiliations to powerful sects or clans.

Occasionally, a figure would pass by with a restrained aura, making one look at them curiously.

In the distance, towering structures rose into the sky.

Some buildings shimmered with translucent barriers, while others were wrapped in layered formations that twisted like spiraling constellations. At the very center, far beyond their current position, a colossal pillar of light extended upward as though connecting to the vast canopy of the Ethereal Lumina Tree.

Evelynn leaned slightly against the railing as she turned to look at Davis again.

Unlike Hexenaʼs crimson eyes, she still had purple eyes. She guessed that was the only thing that was different from Hexena if one didnʼt consider Hexenaʼs beastly features after becoming an Empyrean Beast.

”Evelynn, I barely have time for you and your sisters…” After a pause, Davis answered awkwardly, ”Otherwise, I wouldnʼt have spent four weeks with Aila. Her physique really did help me increase my cultivation, which is otherwise extremely difficult to raise since Iʼm already comparable to a Mid-Stage Exalt. You may think I couldʼve depended on Illumina for it, as she is recognized as the thirty-fourth wife, but things arenʼt that simple. At that time-”

”You donʼt need to explain yourself for this matter. However, can you bear to see someone with the same face as me holding someone elseʼs hand?” Evelynn asked with a faint smile.

Davis went flabbergasted.

He raised his hand and placed it over his chin as though pondering before chuckling, ”I cannot, but why donʼt we do this instead? Hexenaʼs her own person. If at all she wants to be together with someone else, then we can have her change her facial structure. I think she would at least listen to these words since she is indebted to us. She might even disfigure herself, but I donʼt want that.”

”…” Evelynn pouted as she looked at him avoid the main issue.

She could inwardly heave a sigh since neither Hexena nor Davis had time to approach each other, since they were the heads of their own powers.

Hexena told her to not do anything and let her enjoy the hunt, so her hands were also tied. She couldnʼt recommend Hexena to Davis. At the same time, Hexena was also fiercely loyal to her Xylusc Clan, so she couldnʼt wholeheartedly recommend her to Davis either.

”But I do want her with me without needing to enter anotherʼs house, so please keep that in mind.”

Evelynn indirectly said, causing Davis to blink.

He didnʼt even know how this expedition would turn out, so how could he be willful? He wanted to go visit Jade. He wanted to go visit Juili. He still wanted to go see Frostrose and settle their dubious relationship, but had no time to make things clear.

Still, all things considered, he felt like he had received a divine task from his first wife. At least, the intention to talk with Hexena about her future- their future had formed in his mind.

In truth, he also had an inkling that they might come together since her fate was interconnected with Evelynn. However, they both respected Hexena, so their attitude towards her was always one of giving her free rein. She used it well to rebuild her Xylusc Clan faster. If they werenʼt restricted by their bloodline, they would surely be a force to reckon with above the Empyrean Stage.
