Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3857  Encounter With The Heavenly Blight Hall

”Rokushi Mirai, what are you doing?”

”That is the Heavenʼs Warrior, whom we need to assassinate no matter the cost. We canʼt let her leave.”

Abruptly, two black-robed assassins appeared beside her as they questioned and demanded.

It made her eyes frown as she glanced at them.

”Are you people senseless? Thatʼs a Level Three Autarch whose prowess is three levels higher, allowing him to barely battle Late Stage Autarchs. We canʼt defeat him, much less assassinate him or assassinate that master of the Transcendent Truth Eyes while heʼs guarding her, even going as far as to burn his blood essence. You should be thankful he left. Or if you want me to kill them both, bring Mid Stage Autarch assassins under my command. Otherwise, shut up.”

”You-”

One of the assassins sounded angry beyond compare as he raised his dagger.

”We need to relocate or leave the realm as fast as possible. But before that, you people should be able to use him as a bargaining tool.”

Rokushi Mirai uttered solemnly before she returned her gaze to Davis.

”I ask you once again. Who are you? The Autarch kept shielding that woman, but she seemed to want to get out to save you. You are not a mere servant, judging by how that woman worried for you, right?”

”Oh?”

One of the assassins finally looked intrigued as he turned his attention to Davis.

Anything that could be used as bait must be used. That was one of the key principles of assassination. It didnʼt matter whether it made the opponent weaker or stronger but the momentary lapse of judgment caused by the presence of the bait will allow them to strike a death blow.

”…”

Davis remained silent before he lightly chuckled.

”Right now, my mood isnʼt the best.”

He was thinking about a lot of things.

He had separated from Clara and Xiaolan. He was pissed, but strangely enough, he wasnʼt worried. That Heavenʼs Warrior Autarch realized his foolishness and used everything in his power to bring out Clara, even going as far as to burn his precious blood essence.

He didnʼt even stop for the falling servant, whom Clara was worried about, prioritizing her safety over her wants. Prioritizing her life over his own. That made him feel like Clara was in a safe place.

On the other hand, even with him using his prowess, the Karmic Impersonation Technique didnʼt seem to have been cancelled like concealment would.

The others were still recognizing him as the silver-haired man clad in battle armor. Davis felt this was crazy, unable to believe that his power held such deception over perception.

”What a coincidence… Mine isnʼt either, so cooperate or suffer and die.” Rokushi Mirai uttered coldly.

She seemed to be nearing her limit with how she was biting down on her teeth.

It made Davis wonder what was up with her, as she seemed to have teamed up with an assassin organization or perhaps had joined them. He guessed they were the Heavenly Blight Hall because of how badly they wanted to kill Clara, the master of the Transcendent Truth Eyes.

”Well, to be fair, I have been extremely pissed ever since I came to this world. I suggest you surrender if you donʼt want to get hurt, Rokushi Mirai. Actually, were you this talkative?”

Davis asked.

It made Rokushi Miraiʼs eyes narrow.

This person in front of her behaved like he knew her a bit. She couldnʼt tell who he was but could tell that he wasnʼt a part of the world, so that would leave that he was from the First Haven World, but even there…

”I donʼt think the people with whom I share a relationship are alive anymore. For the last time, who are you?”

Rokushi Mirai took out her treasure, the stone that unleashed an ungodly amount of death energy.

Davis focused his gaze on that treasure, able to see it more clearly than before.

It wasnʼt pitch-black but shared a strange totem on each side, like yin-yang symbols. The black half overlapped with the white half and vice versa, allowing for a strange and mesmerizing balance between the two opposing forces.

His soul was attracted to it, which was the most important reason he fell off Xiaolanʼs wings.

”Let me fulfill your wish of wanting to know me so badly.”

Davis walked off. He moved his foot to the side and crossed a big rock that had crashed to the ground and split off in many places. When he circled around it and revealed himself to them, their eyes went unequivocally wide.

Purple robe, blonde hair, and sapphire eyes, but most of all, his facial features undoubtedly pointed towards one person.

”Divine Emperor of Death…”

For the first time, Rokushi Miraiʼs eyes shuddered as she took a step back.

His name preceded all calamities the First Haven World ever encountered, and even now, he is the ultimate target of the true immortal world. That alone spoke volumes about the danger he could bring. Even a few seconds ago, she was unable to recognize him or see through his disguise. Forget her.

He was with two Heavenʼs Warriors who could sense Divergents. That was simply terrifying, making her shaken to her core.

However, she quickly steadied herself, taking a deep breath as she looked at the black-white stone in her hand.

”Is this why you revealed yourself?”

”Correct answer.”

Davis raised his chin, adopting a condescending attitude as he ascended to the skies.

In fact, Davis revealed himself for another reason as well. He wanted to make connections with Heavenly Blight Hall. However, this was only possible if they dropped the matter of killing Clara. On the other hand, he wasnʼt worried that Autarch Yulan Nazarin would return.

That was impossible considering he would prioritize Claraʼs life over anything else considering he couldnʼt stop repeating how it was an honor to serve her. Someone as obstinate as a Heavenʼs Warrior couldnʼt fake this kind of reverence.

”Divine Emperor of Death.”

Abruptly, the assassin who was going to use him as bait cupped his hands.

”Our higher ups said that finding you was of the highest priority other than hunting down the master of the Transcendent Truth Eyes.”

”Why?” Davisʼs gaze flickered, ”You want my treasures like I want hers?”

”No, the Heavenly Blight Hall is a united front of a few Divergents training people like us to go against the Heavenʼs Warriors. We donʼt target anyone else other than Heavenʼs Warriors, and upon hearing your legend, we would like to sincerely invite you. We have also invited Rokushi Mirai, and she accepted.”

ʼI see. The Gilded Realm Ascendant Pill is hiding her divergent aura…ʼ

Davis shot a glance at Rokushi Mirai before looking at that assassin.

”Then bring your higher ups. I wonʼt join until I speak to someone who holds actual authority within the Heavenly Blight Hall.”

”As you demand.”

Davis waved his hand, causing the assassin to sound delighted. Perhaps he might gain some contribution points for finding the Divine Emperor of Death, but Davis wondered what kind of right a slave had. Perhaps they were not slaves but were disciples who had heavy restrictions.

Then again, he didnʼt know why they would dare to go against Heavenʼs Warriors.

ʼCould it be that theyʼre victims of the ignorant pursuit of justice by Heavenʼs Warriors?ʼ

Davis wondered.

Love made one blind, but justice was practically blind. It didnʼt see oneʼs circumstances and imposed a hefty consequence, even if it meant taking down everything in its path. These people could be collateral damage that people didnʼt care about because, ultimately, the Heavenʼs Warriors eradicated evil.
