Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3862  Dealing With Rokushi Mirai

*Clank~*

He steadily brought her to the bed, although she didnʼt resist.

Instead, she glared at him like he had killed her parents, her gaze full of warning.

”Kill me. I wonʼt accept this humiliation.”

She spat out, her voice filled with defiance.

Davis chuckled darkly, his grip tightening on the chains as he abruptly pulled her in and leaned in close to her ear. ”Oh, donʼt worry. I have much more in store for you than just death,”

His whisper menacingly echoed in her ear, making her heart sink.

With her chained, she couldnʼt move and could only barely squirm, much less mount a counterattack. Besides, this strange chain made her much weaker, her pure physical strength falling like it never existed as she felt limp, unable to muster any energy for movement.

”Just kidding. No need to be scared…”

Davis waved his hand as he walked away, his back turned against her, ”As long as you donʼt do anything stupid and remain on your territory, youʼll be safe for the rest of the journey. I canʼt just let you go without resolving the difference between us.”

”…”

Rokushi Mirai narrowed her eyes. She could still taste her blood in her mouth, meaning not much time had passed. He was letting her go? Was this some kind of ploy?

She had many questions but looked around, appearing suspicious of his intentions.

”This bed is my territory…?”

”…”

Davis pursed his lips. Was that ambiguous?

Indeed, he wanted her to know there were consequences, and saying she belonged there would imply he might do something bad to her. He hoped that would stop her from doing something stupid, but with how she was fearless and could use death energy, he doubted she was going to listen.

”Well, maybe we should move cabins since I have broken this one, but yes. You are nothing more than my prisoner now, so you need to answer a few of my questions and make me realize you are not a threat if you want to be released. Then again, Iʼll never give back your treasure as it now belongs to me, so until I say youʼre free, you are not to take any independent actions.”

Davis waved his hand, ”If you do, then donʼt blame me for throwing a punch at your gut again, and this time, it would be crippling.”

”…”

Rokushi Miraiʼs gaze flickered.

She still couldnʼt understand how he, an Immortal King, was powerful enough to harm her even if she was sealed. Just because the chains made her weak didnʼt mean she wasnʼt a Level Seven Immortal Emperor whose base prowess brought her physicality to near Empyrean levels.

Even if she had weakened, her body was still strong as a Level One Empyrean.

It would be impossible to harm her, but the fact that he could only mean the chains not only suppressed her cultivation but also drew the energy out of her cells, making her vulnerable.

She was finding his methods more and more terrifying, not knowing what else he had in store for her.

After all, she couldnʼt believe her treasure was robbed within a split second.

Was his trump card that powerful?

Even if it were, how would an Immortal King be able to use it?

Many questions popped into her head, but she didnʼt ask anything.

On the other hand, Davis saw that she didnʼt refuse, like before, and nodded.

He didnʼt say that he was going to use her as bait, as that depended on her answers.

”Question number one, have you met the World Master of the First Haven World?”

”…”

Rokushi Mirai stared at him for a few seconds before she opened her mouth.

”Yes.”

”Great.” Davis nodded, not finding it surprising.

Rokushi Mirai had obtained a forged fragment of a Primeval Law Treasure by herself. That meant she had some fate with it. There was no way the World Master didnʼt meet with her. She was destined to play a significant role in the unfolding events, no matter what they may be.

For him to have stolen the treasure for her, he must have moved a significant part of fate, but for it to have not affected him yet, at least not in any way, it meant that he had not stolen her destiny.

That might be over if he killed her or did something to her that made her no longer want to live.

So he had to be careful.

But on the off chance her destiny was to hand over the treasure to him in a not-so friendly way, then it would mean she had already fulfilled her destiny, with death awaiting her at the end of the line.

”Has the World Master told you anything to your benefit?”

”…”

Rokushi Mirai narrowed her brows, wondering what his intent was in investigating her relationship with the World Master. Was he hostile toward the World Master?

She really didnʼt want to answer, but finding herself tied up and having no way to even move properly to sit comfortably, she gnashed her teeth.

”She did say that I might emerge to be a grand character and would clash with you sooner or later… but never did I expect it would be this soon.”

”I see.”

She even knew the World Master was a woman.

Davis looked away, pondering her words.

Perhaps they had met way earlier than fate ordained them to meet.

Was it because he went along with a Heavenʼs Warrior instead of remaining with his family? Because he used karmic impersonation devoid of recognition even after he dispersed it? By employing Karmic Impersonation, he was, in essence, manipulating perception, and it was believed that the universe did not exist in the absence of observers.

Although that was from the viewpoint of a world where physics was different or incomplete, he couldnʼt deny that it could also be much more true here, as there were indeed many omniscient viewers in the universe.

Even the Solar Reverence, the almighty sun, is rumored to be a spirit, and its light shines through everything.

Nonetheless, Davis couldnʼt tell what allowed them to meet soon, as there were too many factors at play here.

He returned his gaze and raised his brows.

”How likely are you to bear your fangs if I were to release you? We could be part of the same assassination organization sooner or later, depending on the answer I receive from the higher ups, so I donʼt want to be enemies with you.”

”Are you saying you will let me go despite the fact that I attacked to kill?”

Rokushi Mirai narrowed her eyes, trying to see through him.

”Yes.”

Davis sighed.

He knew his words were quite unbelievable considering he was speaking from an advantageous elevation.

”Youʼre practically vulnerable in front of me. Whatʼs stopping me from killing you? Canʼt you see that Iʼm offering peace instead of violence?” he said.

But the opposite could also be true.

It was because he held the higher ground that he was able to offer a compromise.

It was the strongest who decided what happened. They wrote history as they pleased.

Rokushi Mirai went silent as she lowered her head.

It was as he said. She had thought a lot about what would stop him from killing her.

Was it her body? Did he want her as a subordinate? Or did he have some plans for her?

”Whatʼs the condition?”

Rokushi Mirai raised her head, her gaze flashing with aloofness.
