Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3891  Breaking A Taboo Again

Davis was dumbfounded.

Was he being praised?

But before he could react, the Celestial Transcendentʼs hand on his head had already started dispersing. His limbs were gone, leaving him only with his upper torso and head.

”Even without creating your own path, you managed to surpass your Immortal Emperor Tribulation. However, donʼt lose your footing, as I will always be out to kill you. That would not change. As for your younger sister, Iʼll see what I can do. I wonʼt allow you to kill a ruler either, you so-called evil being, haha.”

The Celestial Transcendent appeared amused before he faded away, leaving Davis speechless.

Was he seen through?

He didnʼt mind, but it seemed like the Celestial Transcendent already received info about his little sister, which would mean that the mandate the Heavenly Guardian Consortium released for Clara might be already on its way, and considering the Celestial Transcendent didnʼt say anything untoward about it, he guessed it didnʼt have any ruling that would harm Clara.

”You broke a taboo again. Careful about whatʼs to come next, though~”

”…!”

Davis was startled to hear the Celestial Transcendentʼs distant voice.

He was just done with the refinement of the heavenly yang and was about to pull them out and throw them into his life ring, but he hurriedly pulled his consciousness out of his soulʼs sea.

His eyes shot wide open outside as he looked above.

*Rumble!~*

Above the skies, incredulous storms surged, causing a punitive aura to burst forth from the heavens. The domineering and furious aura finally made him feel some pressure, causing Davisʼs eyes to narrow as his gaze flickered.

”This is… a Divine Punishment Tribulation…?”

The dark crimson clouds swirled, inviting something new as the clouds parted, making space for terrifying purple-black clouds to descend. These purple-black clouds descended and continued to expand, actually overwhelming the dark crimson clouds.

Davis could feel the annihilative aspect of these clouds, becoming much more blaring and ruinous. However, he saw that it was different from the Divine Punishment Tribulation. It was less intimidating than a Divine Punishment Tribulation that may be able to take him out.

At least, he didnʼt feel the same pressure as back then when the four from the future appeared, although it may have just been a case of divine lightning matching their powers.

”So this is the instant retribution for refining heavenly yin or heavenly yang…”

Davisʼs lips curled as he rose from the heavenly water, believing if he had faced this tribulation at that time, it wouldnʼt have gone well.

Fortunately, he listened to the World Masterʼs advice and didnʼt refine heavenly yin. Now that he had refined the heavenly yang, the retribution came almost instantly, just like how a tribulation appeared in the form of Destructive Heavenly Flame Tribulation when he broke through the Law Intent limitation for the first time while he was a mortal.

This didnʼt happen when he refined and absorbed the heavenly wind, so Davis wondered what this was about.

He had never seen or heard of such a tribulation.

As he was thinking, the purple-black tribulation clouds finally shuddered, releasing its authoritative aura as it rumbled for him to humble himself in its presence.

Davis didnʼt give a damn.

He defeated the Celestial Transcendent. This should be tough, considering it was just retribution for breaking a taboo. Perhaps the heavenly yin and heavenly yang contained essence that could change the workings of the world.

Davis was very interested in the possibilities. One of the possibilities was for him, a human male, to be able to evolve into a much stronger version of himself with heavenly yang, perhaps even boost his virility foremost. However, since it was annihilative in nature, he threw that out the window, fearing that it might harm him instead, and tried to venture into other possibilities, one of which was the evolution of race.

He wondered what would happen if he were to imbue annihilative heavenly yang into the Life Essence Orb and Blood Essence Orb combined and ate it. Would it allow him to transform into a superior version of himself? He was following the footsteps of Ancestor Reselius, who was crazy about finding a way to enhance the Fire Phoenixʼs genes and allow them to evolve into something equal to that of the Seven-Colored Phoenix.

Would he be able to do a similar thing?

Davis didnʼt know.

While he was daydreaming, the heavenly strike unapologetically descended.

Davis wondered what it was.

There was nothing, but he could sense something coming down to strike him.

”This is…”

He shuddered when his soul space was suddenly filled with the extreme amalgamation of noxious purple-black clouds! It plopped into his soul sea like a wave that descended from above the skies for the first time, splashing and filling his soul sea with immense toxicity.

”Heavenly poison…!”

Davis was shocked but surprised.

It wasnʼt just ordinary Heavenly Poison Tribulation as one would expect from a sinner who has fourth-tier karmic sin but was an Annihilative Heavenly Poison Tribulation, something that surpassed Destructive Heavenly Poison Tribulation if Davis wasnʼt wrong in his guess.

He didnʼt think much and quickly countered it with his own life energy, intending to quell and refine it.

The heavenly poison energy wreaked havoc in his soul sea and seeped into his soul essence, trying to poison him to death. However, his soul essence was the basis for his soul force. The life energy stemming from it was still too powerful. It instantly suppressed the annihilative heavenly poison energy as it engulfed it whole and began to refine it.

”…!”

However, Davis quickly stopped refining it because the life energy refinement was failing because it purified the poison instead, leaving nothing for him.

His life energy was literally the perfect counter for the Heavenly Poison Tribulation.

This annihilative heavenly poison tribulation was only thirteen levels higher, extremely strong, but still wasnʼt enough to poison him to death.

Thinking it wouldnʼt harm him, Davis wondered what to do as he allowed it to wander free for a few seconds. After all, he decided to refine annihilative heavenly poison for Evelynn so that she could digest it, or even if she didnʼt want to, it would be of great help to her in the future for her to research. He then switched his energy to reincarnation energy and destroyed the overwhelming and authoritative Will of the heavens first, intending to keep the poison in its dangerous form but sealed.

He ground the poisonous purple-black clouds with the reincarnation wheel, defeating the Will that was etched in its entire surface, strand to strand, wisp to wisp. At the same time, there was too much of it, so he unleashed some into the heavenly water, which actually digested it without a problem and began to aid in his cultivation, improving his body and soul again.

This time, there was a significant boost, and the arc on his rate of improvement was going up!

ʼAs expected… the Annihilative Heavenly Poison Tribulation is thirteen levels higher… better than the annihilative prowess of the lightning before, which allowed the heavenly water body to gain much from digesting it and imbuing it all to me…ʼ

Davis went silent after this thought.

While he tamed the heavenly poison, the karmic burden falling on him was also plenty which he would face in his next tribulation.

Regardless, his body and soul underwent a wild transformation, brimming with more power.

At the same time, his body was also undergoing mighty changes as he was circulating all three cultivation methods and entering the Immortal Emperor Stage!
