Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3868  Pleading Guilty?

Clara looked at Empyrean Miller Skyrend and Autarch Yulan Nazarin without averting her gaze. The two of them also looked at her, not finding any ill intent or deceptive nature as far as their perception went.

She may have deceived them by not mentioning she was traveling with the Divine Emperor of Death, but she had not lied. It was understandable that the target was her big brother, who wanted to protect her, and she reciprocated.

It was human instinct to protect oneʼs family against every threat.

However, she was a Heavenʼs Warrior, but they could take a step back and say that she was young, and

”Donʼt be foolish.” Empyrean Miller Skyrend waved his hand, ”They are not innocent. They have joined hands with the Divine Emperor of Death and have publicly declared themselves to be sworn brothers with him. Even if we asked if they would like to take their statements back, they would merely smile and refuse to comment. If they cannot repent, then execution is the end theyʼre looking for. Their execution smoking-out the Divine Emperor of Death is merely a plus. The individuals themselves will be punished without fail according to the laws set by the Heavenly Guardian Consortium.”

”…”

Claraʼs gaze quivered, but she couldnʼt help but smile ever so lightly.

It seems like her brother reaching out his neck to save them was worth it considering they have not abandoned him in his name.

”Then, I, the Divine Emperor of Deathʼs little sister, am also guilty of the crime of being related. What is my punishment?”

Clara asked without a hint of fear in her eyes.

It was as though she was daring them to punish her, causing Empyrean Miller Skyrend to be taken aback before he shook his head.

”Youʼre wrong. The laws donʼt state to punish people who have relations with the Divergents. They are handled as victims and will even be rewarded if they report their location, as long as they havenʼt helped them in their evil deeds. Even then, reporting will slightly extricate them from the crime of helping a divergent, but this is a case of an Anarchic Divergent and his sworn brothers refuse to say a thing about him, which becomes even more severe. On the other hand, you came clean.”

”Clean?” Claraʼs brows narrowed, ”Donʼt say as though I betrayed my brother. I am not ashamed to have an Anarchic Divergent as my brother, for he doesnʼt conform to the standards of being an Anarchic Divergent. My brother is not an evil entity. He was nothing but a crown prince and somehow grew into being an Anarchic Divergent.”

”I heard.ʼ Empyrean Miller Skyrend nodded, ”Someone who wasnʼt born a Divergent but, after being resurrected from the dead by Shirley Davisʼs Fire Phoenix Blood primal yin and later impounded with the title Divine, became an Anarchic Divergent. Isnʼt that right, Regalanius?”

”Yes.”

Regalanius cupped his hands again and nodded.

He continued to explore a few matters from the moment Davis ascended to the Grand Beginnings Continent, recounting the story to the others in this hall. He had already told Empyrean Miller Skyrend and a few others as he was caught.

After all, even he was guilty of having a good relationship with the Divine Emperor of Death. However, they caught him and told him about the law, which then made him a willing participant.

However, he didnʼt give any falsehoods and stated it as it is.

About how the Divine Emperor of Death wasnʼt a person of warring nature but a person who craved peace. He gave numerous instances where he was willing to listen to reason rather than resort to violence.

About how the Divine Emperor of Death saved the hundreds of billions of people in the Grand Beginnings Continent by killing all Vacuous Beasts when he had no such need to do so.

However, he kept quiet about Myria. He didnʼt say anything about her. Fortunately, the Heavenʼs Warriors were just. They didnʼt go as far as to soulscour him since he cooperated.

And the best thing was— they even allowed him to say these things publicly. After all, his words might change the publicʼs view.

He looked at them with immense respect.

Everyone looked at him in shock, not knowing there was such a story behind the birth of an Anarchic Divergent. After all, Divergents wouldnʼt leave any trace of their origins behind, sometimes killing their own families or the calamities they summon tend to erase their trace, leaving behind almost nothing for them to learn about their true nature.

”At least, these are the events that are true to my knowledge. If I have stated any falsehoods, may the heavens smite me. The rest would only be known by the family of the Divine Emperor of Death.”

Regalanius turned to look at his student, Clara.

”He did state the truth.”

Clara nodded, ”My brother is not evil. You are free to end him, as the heavenly law states that Divergents need to be eliminated, but anyone who says that he is evil will have to endure my wrath. I will not allow his name to be disparaged!”

She waved her hand, her purple eyes glowing intensely as her heavenly aura reverberated in the hall.

”…”

Everyone looked at her in shock.

Even Empyrean Miller Skyrend and Autarch Yulan Nazarin were astounded.

How come the heavens didnʼt reject this statement?

Summoning the heavenly aura was no joke. The more the Heavenʼs Warriors use heavenly aura, the less approval they will receive when their statements donʼt align with the Will of the heavens.

Yet they could see her heavenly aura flowing out more passionately than before.

Was it simply the case of higher order physiques being loved by the heavens? If that were the case, they couldnʼt help but feel envious. However, they knew it wasnʼt the case, as there were cases of Heavenʼs Warriors being impeached by the organizations or even the consortium.

After all, Heavenʼs Warriors were also humans in the end. It was human nature to be greedy and lie in the face of benefits. Although Heavenʼs Warriors were less likely to be prone to this selfish nature due to their upbringing, it happens. However, people with heavenly physiques of the highest order, especially the Transcendent Truth Eyes, were different.

They cared for no personal benefits and were only interested in executing the heavenly law and maintaining order with their imperial nature. Their cold nature was second to none. They couldnʼt be seduced by any kind of offer and were impervious to most temptations. It was like the heavens had completely changed the nature of humans, relegating them to do their deeds, but it wasnʼt like they lost their humanity, as they were the strongest protectors of the human race.

They stood at the helm, protecting humanity from all unnatural calamities.

Empyrean Miller Skyrend inwardly sighed.

They were already tasked with killing the Divine Emperor of Death by the Heavenly Guardian Consortium and even the Celestial Transcendent. It would be ridiculous for them to let him leave. Even if he wasnʼt a threat now, a few years or millions of years down the line, he could be the reason for the end of all lives.

They could never tell and only eliminate him before he grew into something that people could no longer take. Otherwise, they wouldnʼt have the aura of Divergents.

”In that case, are you willing to end your big brother, as it is your foremost duty to protect the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy from unnatural disasters?”

Empyrean Miller Skyrend asked with raised brows, challenging Claraʼs intentions.
