Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3874  Saintess Lunariaʼs Disciples

”No… Tanya is not with me at the moment.”

”Thatʼs good~”

The Frostcloud Sword Empress replied, causing Davis to blink before he finally took a look around.

There were three men and four women whom he didnʼt recognize. The words Saintess Lunaria said, which echoed in the back of his mind, unprocessed, had now been deciphered, making him understand these people were all her disciples.

If he remembered correctly, Myria and Ellia were the eleventh and twelfth disciples, respectively. Since nine others were here except the disciple who got killed in the First Haven World, he imagined every one of Saintess Lunariaʼs disciples was present.

He turned to look back at Saintess Lunaria, standing up.

”I donʼt need your help.”

He had been wondering why she had blocked him and understood that she wanted to help, but he didnʼt want to be indebted to her.

”Then why did you follow me like a lost puppy?” Saintess Lunaria asked in an amused tone.

”That kind of reverse psychology wonʼt work on me to get me to accept your help. Iʼm leaving.”

Davis turned around, his voice cold.

He had followed her because he didnʼt want to harm her. What face would he have left to meet the World Master if he made her daughter die?

He couldnʼt, so he didnʼt say anything and followed her back, intending to tell her to leave so that he could start his rampage. He didnʼt know how many were going to be killed, but he would stop at nothing if anyone came to bar his path.

”Wait. Even if you donʼt need my help, you canʼt just throw everything away and save them. I know you can save them yourself, but the risk is too great. Let us help.”

Saintess Lunaria pleaded.

It made Davis stop and cast a glance at her.

”Even now, youʼre most worried about the consequences of using the treasure and not about me.”

”…”

Saintess Lunaria was stunned. She went speechless, unable to respond.

”Treasure? What treasure?”

At this moment, the green-robed man spoke with some confusion before he smiled.

”Well, I understand that you have some kind of trump card to back you up despite being an Immortal King. However, if I were you, I wouldnʼt be so rude to a person in front of their powerful disciples. The disciples can be eccentric and short-tempered, you see.”

”…”

Davis turned his body and panned his gaze. He could see that he had offended some of them as their expressions were cold.

”Iʼm not afraid.”

Davis looked uncaring, his expression still cold.

”I didnʼt mean it that way.” The green-robed man stood up and gestured back to the seat Davis had sat in.

”If we fight, weʼll simply be giving away our locations, and your friends will be executed. I think it is necessary that you understand masterʼs benevolence isnʼt for everyone. If her good intentions are misunderstood to be evil, then donʼt blame us disciples for wanting the other party to understand that it wasnʼt the case.”

”Jaiyan, you be quiet.”

Saintess Lunaria voiced out as she stared at Davis.

”I understand. I was wrong. I wonʼt care about the treasure anymore. I will choose to trust you, but you need to accept our help.”

”…”

Davisʼs gaze fell on her. He stared at her for a few seconds, looking at her brows squinted. He couldnʼt understand why she was this desperate to help him. Was it purely wanting to apologize?

In that case, there was no need to endanger her life or the lives of her other disciples by exposing herself here. She was still hidden, even crossing her Empyrean Tribulation as an Anarchic Divergent in some forbidden or unknown location without a problem.

There was no news of an Annihilative Empyrean Tribulation in the entire Third Layer, so he could only imagine that her disciples helped her achieve this result.

Either way, the risk of helping him was just too great. He still couldnʼt understand why she would go this far.

However, he took a deep breath and walked back to his seat.

There were still a few hours left before the execution, so he could at least listen or so, he convinced himself and sat. Besides, he had become interested in someone staring at him with a curious gaze.

”So youʼre the other Anarchic Divergent disciple Saintess Lunaria has.”

”Indeed.” The green-robed man, Jaiyan, smiled lightly.

”I am aware that I am not your match in terms of the Paragon Magical Beasts in our tribulation. I was looking forward to meeting you, wondering what kind of man you are. Iʼve heard rumors but wanted to see for myself, and I must say, I have become disappointed a bit.”

”Thatʼs understandable. I wouldnʼt stay quiet if my master was berated in front of me either.”

Davis smiled back.

”Thereʼs also that, but the foremost reason is rushing to save your friends without a plan.”

”Well, Iʼm with the Heavenly Blight Hall right now.”

”…”

Davisʼs answer caused some of them to jolt while Jaiyanʼs brows widened a bit.

”You joined them?” He asked.

Davis saw the others frowning. It seemed like they didnʼt have a good opinion of the Heavenly Blight Hall.

However, Davis wasnʼt taken aback. He answered casually.

”As an initial recruit? Yes. Iʼm not bound and am still on the fence whether to truly join them or not. They look sincere at a glance, but I know there are some terms and conditions that are not openly available.”

”…”

His answer was met with silence. They didnʼt appear to know how to respond to his casual answer, as though he said he had joined some mercenary group and was waiting to see if he would become one of them or not.

”Forget it.” Saintess Lunaria quickly intervened, ”The Divine Emperor of Death isnʼt the kind of man who would willfully commit evil. I know it for a fact, so letʼs move on. Iʼll introduce you all and your powers a bit so you can trust a bit of each other when the time to battle together comes.”

”As you have already made acquaintances, Iʼll start with you two.”

Saintess Lunaria gestured at Davis and Jaiyan.

”Jaiyan is my fifth disciple. He ascended around two million years ago and is now at the peak of the Empyrean, although he is in the Upper Realm and could only come here with a low-level avatar thatʼs at Level Six Empyrean Stage. He is a calm and collected man, but when he opens his mouth, he is like the bane of all Heavenʼs Warriors.”

”Oh?”

Davis raised his brows, wondering what kind of physique Jaiyan possessed.

For him to be an Anarchic Divergent, his physique was bound to be as powerful as an Empyreal Sovereignʼs or Empyrean equivalent.

Jaiyan looked prideful in being praised by his master.

He even extended his tongue slightly as though acting like he wanted to piss off Davis, but then, Davisʼs pupils dilated.

There was some kind of mark on his tongue that looked like a blade severing the skies.

”Heaven Severing Tongue. It counters and erases heavenly mandates and heavenly aura, so one could say Iʼm the arch nemesis of Heavenʼs Warriors.”

He brought his tongue back and spoke proudly, causing Davis to be astounded and speechless
