I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 616, Strange Things That Can Distinguish Life Force

“Shaman, this was taken from another Ferocious Beast.” Sha Lan handed over a horn as thick as an adult’s thigh.

The horn was pure black in colour, a full 80 centimetres long, and looked very much like a Bull’s horn.

“Oh? This horn is much larger than a regular horn.” Su Bai took it and began examining it carefully.

He tapped the horn with his hand, wanting to see how sturdy it was. If it was relatively hard, it would have great uses. If it broke easily, there would not be much point, as looking big would only be superficial.

“Shaman, this horn is extremely hard. After the explosive package exploded, the Ferocious Beast’s carcass blew up. It’s just this horn that remains fully intact.” Sha Lan explained.

When Sha Lan and the others were collecting the horns, they witnessed how sturdy they were.

Moreover, they had also used this horn to strike against the wall, and no damage appeared.

“Are there many of them?” Su Bai asked. After confirming the sturdiness, the next thing was to check the quantity.

“We have quite a few, not a lot. More than ten.” Sha Lan said.

Because this type of Ferocious Beast did not appear in large numbers, only four or five, and each one happened to have two or three of such horns.

“Great, have someone clean the interior, then they can be made into war horns. If they are of such size, they would definitely be very loud.” Su Bai arranged.

“Yes.” Sha Lan nodded.

“Anything else?” Su Bai asked, as he could see quite a few things piled up in the hall.

Those things looked particularly strange and varied, including the horns he had just seen and some other items.

“There are also those Tortoise shells, four in total, and each one is really big.” Sha Lan said.

“I’ve already had the workshop make those into shields. Their sturdiness would be useful in withstanding weapons.” Su Bai explained.

He quite liked those Tortoise shells. Previously he was still considering using iron ore to make shields, but now he could save on iron ore.

Although they had also discovered ores in the caves, no one knew if it would be inexhaustible, so it was better to save what they could at the beginning.

“There are also some others remaining, which are these bones. These bones are originally meant to be burned together with those strange Ferocious Beast carcasses.”

Sha Lan took out those bones and continued. “But after burning, it was discovered that those bones had not been burned away, and were preserved very well.”

Su Bai took those bones and began examining them, saying. “They are really hard. To think they are so heat resistant as well.”

He looked at those bones and only found that they were somewhat blackened from burning, but otherwise no different.

“Exactly, I was also very shocked when I saw it.” Sha Lan said. She had been quite surprised at the time and had specifically studied them for quite a while.

Sha Lan had even tried pulling and bending these bones for quite some time, wanting to see if they were really hard.

“These can also be put to good use, that is, they can be used as arrow shafts or bow bodies, greatly improving durability.” Su Bai said.

Current arrows were all made of wood, which broke or burned easily. Using these Ferocious Beast bones for crafting would greatly improve their durability.

“I thought the same. These bones can definitely help us greatly improve our combat power.” Sha Lan said excitedly.

At that time, she had conducted an experiment using these bones with a longbow, and the shooting range was much further. Also, they penetrated more firmly.

“Bring over any other unusual things to have a look. They might all be helpful to the Tribe,” Su Bai said.

The appeal of the previous few items made him even more eager to have a good look at what other unusual things there were.

“Shaman, there’s also this thing that was secreted from a type of Ferocious Beast. This substance causes surrounding plants to immediately die.”

Sha Lan handed over a bottle containing something, continuing to explain. “If it touches one’s skin, the skin starts rotting.”

Sha Lan was particularly careful when handling it, and had even wrapped it in Animal Hide before passing it over.

Because she was particularly worried that this thing would spill out, and once it spilled, it would harm the Shaman.

At that time, a Warrior had accidentally gotten this substance on him while handling a Ferocious Beast carcass, and then quite a bit of his flesh had rotted.

However, they had promptly used a Shaman Bone Tablet, which prevented it from continuing to rot, otherwise no one knew how much more it would continue if this thing kept spreading.

Fortunately, this substance stuck to soil or ceramic bottles or wooden products without any reaction.

It purely had a very strong reaction to living things, whether plants, animals, or people, all the same.

Su Bai listened carefully to Sha Lan’s explanation and showed a face of disbelief. He had not expected this thing to be so formidable.

What surprised him even more was that this substance could actually distinguish what was a living being. Because of this, he felt this thing would definitely be very useful, at least it could be used as poison.

“According to what you just said, there’s quite a lot of this, right? Have you collected everything?” Su Bai asked.

The poison developed previously was not much to begin with, and now he had been given a new experimental subject.

He absolutely had to quickly collect these things, then have Co Co carefully research or refine them.

“I’ve collected it all. Initially, the Chieftain said to burn it all, but I thought the Shaman would find it useful, so I kept them.” Sha Lan immediately said.

Sha Lan was smart, having spent a long time by Su Bai’s side, she knew what could be useful. She also knew every day what Co Co was experimenting with in the Yong’an Building. Those poisons were the best proof, which is why she thought to keep them.

“That’s good. You’re worthy of being my Shaman Priestess. Your actions sure put my mind at ease.” Su Bai nodded with satisfaction.

Originally, he thought these things would not be preserved by anyone, but unexpectedly they had all been preserved.

“Shaman, all of this is what I should do.” Sha Lan shook her head. She did not think these things were anything special, they were just daily observations.

“Properly seal all of them up, then move them to the Yong’an Building.” Su Bai instructed.

Such dangerous things were best not to be casually touched by others, or taken by people with ulterior motives.

“Yes.” Sha Lan nodded.
