I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 613, Unexpected

Translator: Silavin

On the fourth morning, after Su Bai had risen, he made his way to his usual position and took out the book that the System had previously produced, thoughtfully flipping through its pages.

Recently, the System had produced all manner items, and most of them could indeed be put to practical use. For instance, there were the banana trees it had previously provided, various preserved fruits, coffee beans, and etc.

Beyond edibles, there were numerous tools like: fruit peelers, potato peelers, stockings, cushions, and other such household items.

In any case, the System gave varied items, sometimes producing utterly unexpected items. One particular item had left him bewildered. They were dumbbells. This had genuinely surprised him.

However, there were also exceptionally excellent items, particularly the various manufacturing books for different products.

Such knowledge would further assist the Tribe’s development. For example, it has produced a Chemistry Textbook, a Physics Textbook, and even a Confectionery Guidebook.

All of these were remarkably useful. The former two books could provide valuable knowledge, while the latter could offer the Tribe a more diverse range of food.

It was well known that consuming sweet treats could significantly enhance one’s happiness, and establishing a confectionery shop would certainly be feasible soon enough.

“Shaman, the eternal night will soon be over.” Yu Ying announced, standing before the floor-to-ceiling window and gazing outside.

Yu Ying had observed that the Blood Moon above was beginning to gradually fade. It had been intensely bloody the previous evening. Yet now it appeared to be taking on a slightly yellowish hue, and it would not be long before it returned to its normal state.

“Today is the fourth day, right? Yeah, soon, it will be over.” Su Bai remarked, turning his attention towards the exterior as well.

Though it was presently morning, the weather outside remained overcast and dim.

If one wished to distinguish whether it was morning or evening, one could only consult a pocket watch.

Otherwise, it would be impossible to determine the time from the environment, given that it remained dark throughout the day and night.

“Yeah, today is the fourth day. Once the darkness recedes, the eternal night will be over.” Yu Ying nodded. She felt the heavy burden in her heart finally lifting . It was not for any other reason, but because the most perilous eternal night was finally ending.

Better yet, no one within the Tribe had suffered injury, nor had any property in the Tribe been damaged. This was undoubtedly the most welcome news possible.

Although considerable time and manpower had been expended, along with numerous explosive packages and ammunition, the outcome was far better than she could have ever anticipated.

“Yeah, everyone can finally rest properly.” Su Bai smiled in agreement. He had actually prepared for the worst-case scenario, but had not anticipated that nothing particularly dire would occur. He genuinely felt quite fortunate about this.

Originally, numerous Shaman Bone Tablets and herbs had been prepared for this, precisely to guard against any potential problems.

Furthermore, the hospital’s medical staff had remained constantly prepared, considering this an ideal opportunity for practical experience. Though, it was also fortunate that nothing requiring their hand had occurred.

“Shaman, is your promise of letting everyone celebrate for three days and nights true?” Yu Ying enquired curiously.

“Of course, though let them rest tonight first. We shall celebrate tomorrow.” Su Bai reflected that everyone was already exhausted and needed proper sleep. Otherwise, even during the celebrations, everyone would only be thinking about sleep. Rather than enduring such circumstances, it would be better to allow them a proper night’s rest first. Only after adequate rest could they truly celebrate. Otherwise, it would merely be a test of endurance for the poor Warriors.

“Understood. All the Warriors will be grateful to you.” Yu Ying said with a smile.

She felt the Shaman was truly compassionate, being able to consider such thoughtful details. Most people would not think of such considerations, as there was always more work needed to be done. In a way, Shaman could be said to truly care for his people..

“They have achieved much this time round. They deserve it.” Su Bai remarked, taking a sip of tea.

He felt the Warriors had performed excellently this time, primarily demonstrating the results of their harsh training.

On this occasion, the Flame Dragon Tribe’s wooden walls and wooden houses had remained undamaged, and not a single Warrior or Tribe member had been injured. Just these two points alone was an exceptional achievement for the eternal night.

Su Bai had anticipated that the row of wooden walls surrounding the Tribe would likely sustain damage, as would the wooden houses near the wooden walls.

Consequently, he had evacuated people from those areas in advance, yet unexpectedly, all remained safe and sound.

*Step step step…*

Footsteps echoed from outside as Yan Hua and Sha Lan approached from outside, arriving at the second floor.

“Shaman, it has become completely bright outside! The eternal night is finally over!” Sha Lan reported.

“Father and the others have arranged the Warriors’ subsequent duties. Everyone else has returned to rest. We are only leaving a few Warrior Trainees to patrol the perimeter. Still, there shouldn’t be any incidents.” Yan Hua added.

During the eternal night, the Totem Warriors had contributed the most, having barely slept during these three days.

The Warrior Trainees had fared better, having rotated shifts for sleep with other Warrior Trainees.

Therefore, when the eternal night ended, the Totem Warriors immediately went to catch up on sleep, while the patrol duties were delegated to the Warrior Trainees.

“Good. Have someone carefully inspect the Tribe’s surroundings to ensure nothing has been overlooked.” Su Bai instructed.

Although the eternal night had concluded, it was necessary to have the surrounding areas surveyed before feeling at ease.

“I have already arranged for this to be done. There will be no oversight.” Sha Lan responded immediately.

Sha Lan was renowned for her caution; she had already considered these matters and assigned the necessary personnel before even coming here.

“Great. How many Ferocious Beasts appeared in total during this period?” Su Bai wished to know the numbers.

“I registered each one. The number of Ferocious Beasts that appeared over these few days was 63.” Sha Lan stated. She remembered this figure quite clearly, keeping the number of Ferocious Beasts that invaded each day firmly in mind.

She had also memorised all their appearances and characteristics. If Sha Lan could draw, she could have even sketched them out.

“In three short days, we encountered 63? That’s not small…” Su Bai’s expression grew somewhat solemn.

He reflected that without the speedy development of firearms and those explosive packages, this number of Ferocious Beasts could have completely devastated the Flame Dragon Tribe, particularly the Chimera Ferocious Beasts, which had never been seen before.

“Amongst them, a significant proportion were large. They account for two-thirds of the total number.” Sha Lan remarked with a grimace. She too had been rather startled by these numbers, especially since most were enormous Ferocious Beasts.

“What proportion are the new types of Ferocious Beasts?” Su Bai continued to ask.

“Apart from twenty that had appeared previously and could be named, the remainder were all Ferocious Beasts we had never encountered before…” Sha Lan stated, drawing upon her exceptional memory.
