I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 603, Ridiculous Wild Boar Head

Translator: Silavin

Those two stitched-together Ferocious Beasts were advancing majestically towards the Flame Dragon Tribe, though neither of the Ferocious Beasts creating any roaring sounds.

They continued forward quietly all along, with the two Ferocious Beasts maintaining a formation of one advancing and one retreating as they progressed.

“We must wait for the right moment. When that Tiger-like Ferocious Beast approaches, if the recurve bow shows to be useless, we must immediately follow up.” Yue ordered.

The rabbit eared girl had followed the firearm squad precisely to relay commands and keep watch over them, lest the firearm squad members make any mistakes.

“Understood.” Yan Hua and the others nodded seriously.

Their expressions were even more solemn than before, after all, this was their first time truly entering battle.

Moreover, they were facing those maddened Ferocious Beasts, Furthermore, this time the appearing Ferocious Beasts were unknown even to the Totem Warriors, making the feeling all the more thrilling.

“I’ll first have those people fire the recurve bow, and you must carefully watch the Ferocious Beast’s reaction,” Yue added. Yue’s orders also came from Su Bai, so at this moment, though she was nervous, she remained fearless in the face of danger.

Having already faced eternal night before, some composure still existed, only this time the appearing Ferocious Beasts were different, which made her feel somewhat tense.

Because Yue did not know whether these weapons would be effective against those unknown Ferocious Beasts, and if they were not effective, then what should be done?

During the snow season, before it ended, they had drilled its members many times for various outcomes, but a scene like the current one had never been drilled or anticipated.

“Don’t worry, we’ll definitely do well.” Yan Hua responded earnestly to her.

Training for such long periods every day, and having been a Warrior Trainee for some time, if they could not handle even this task well, then what talk was there of protecting the entire Tribe?

“En, then you wait here first, I’ll go coordinate with the others.” Yue nodded. She still needed to speak with the archer squad, and also with the poison archer squad.

Each team had someone specifically responsible for communication, and someone specifically responsible for assessing situations, and Yue was responsible for the firearm squad.

*Stomp stomp stomp.*

*Roar roar roar…*

That Tiger-like Ferocious Beast was first to accelerate, and strange roaring sounds also emerged from its mouth.

Those roaring sounds did not seem like sounds a Tiger would make, much less sounds a Wild Boar would make. The combination of both was somewhat like a mixed sound, but it always sounded very bizarre.

“What a strange Ferocious Beast…” Wa Ming frowned, quite disgusted by this creature’s appearance and sounds.

He adjusted the recurve bow in his hands, preparing with his other teammates to fire at it.

*Whoosh whoosh whoosh…*

With waves of air-cutting sounds ringing out, the arrows on the recurve bow instantly left the string, flying straight towards that Tiger-like Ferocious Beast.

*Roar roar roar…*

It cleverly avoided most of the arrows, but some arrows still struck its body.

However, from the fact that it did not emit any agonised roars, it seemed the recurve bow arrows caused it little damage. N, it could be said to be like scratching an itch.

Those arrows had only been stuck in its body briefly before slowly falling off, most likely because the barbs on its body were protecting it.

“It actually took no damage at all! It seems like this recurve bow has no effect on it…” Yue frowned.

She had been prepared to watch that Ferocious Beast cry out in agony, but who knew it would be as if nothing had happened.

After being attacked, that Ferocious Beast became even more frenzied, its forward speed also increased considerably, and its mouth opened even wider.

However, its appearance looked extremely ridiculous, after all it had a Wild Boar’s head. No matter how wide the mouth opened, it was still a Pig’s head.

“It’s too ugly!” Yan Hua was even more disgusted by this Ferocious Beast, manipulating her firearm to aim at it, continuing. “Is everyone ready?”

Yan Hua was the captain of the firearm squad. During training, everyone followed her commands.

This was the result of everyone’s collective vote, because in every training session, she would rank first with Sha Lan most of the time.

“We’re all ready,” Sha Lan and the others responded without hesitation, having long wanted to eliminate that ugly monster.

“Fire!” Yan Hua commanded boldly.

*Bang bang bang…*

With Yan Hua’s words falling, waves of gunshots rang out, with wisps of blue smoke still rising from the gun barrels.

*Roar roar roar…* The bullets’ assault immediately struck that Ferocious Beast’s vital points, though not all bullets hit it.

But four or five did hit, and among them one struck the head, while two others hit the legs and back respectively.

This time was different from the recurve bow, the bullets could not be hindered by those barbs. They directly penetrated into the flesh.

With the Ferocious Beast’s agonised cries ringing out, its speed began to slowly decrease, finally collapsing completely unable to rise.

The blood flowing from its body was also pure black, and the truly fatal wound was not the feet or back, but that shot to the forehead.

That shot was precisely what Yan Hua had aimed for, having hesitated and aimed for a long time before pulling the trigger.

That shot’s accuracy also perfectly validated her daily hard work as all worthwhile. The others, needing to aim at different areas while that Ferocious Beast’s feet were constantly running, was perfectly reasonable to not be able to hit the targeted spot.

“Yay! We killed it with one shot!” Yan Hua instantly cried out happily, thinking her efforts had not been wasted.

“Yeah, you were right. That Ferocious Beast was immediately killed” Sha Lan said happily.

“I really could not have done it alone. Without you first hitting its legs to slow it down, I couldn’t have struck its head with such accuracy.” Yan Hua smiled. This was the power of teamwork, which was exactly what the Shaman had always been saying.

“But we finally eliminated one. No matter how fast it was, it can’t outrun a bullet.” Ah Zhen softly said.

“Such a pity my bullet missed just now, otherwise I definitely wouldn’t have let it live one more second.” Ge said regretfully, beginning to feel somewhat annoyed at falling short. Clearly he had been placed into the firearm squad with high expectations, but unexpectedly his first bullet went wrong.

“This isn’t your fault. That Ferocious Beast was so fast, much faster than the beasts we usually train with, and you were all constraining its charge.”

Yan Hua’s expression was very serious, continuing. “Also, this is just the beginning. Mistakes are very normal.”
