I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 614, Soaring to Heaven and Diving to Earth, Swallowing Clouds and Spitting Mist?

Su Bai nodded and continued to ask. “Which of those Ferocious Beasts has the strongest attack power?”

He wanted to know the extent of these Ferocious Beasts’ strongest attack capabilities, so that he could devise countermeasures for the future.

“There’s one with an extremely peculiar appearance. It was unlike any Ferocious Beast. It can fly and run, has a pair of Bat wings and a Wolf’s head, but its body is that of a Bear.”

Sha Lan blinked her blue eyes and continued to recall. “Moreover, it has a long Crocodile tail. It was extremely strange in every way.”

Sha Lan felt it was most extraordinary when she remembered that scene, her eyes had not blinked when she first saw that Ferocious Beast. She truly had never seen such a strange Ferocious Beast before, looking incongruous from every angle.

“How strong was it?” Su Bai continued asking. After hearing the description, he also felt that Ferocious Beast was too peculiar.

Although in the Primitive Era, there were all sorts of strange things, if even people from this era found it strange, then it was truly strange indeed.

“Extremely powerful. We deployed explosive packages, firearms and poison before bringing it down, but it still was not over. The recurve bow squad continuously fired several volleys of arrows.”

Sha Lan paused for a moment and continued. “Plus the spear quad continuously launched several waves of spears before finally killing that Ferocious Beast. Otherwise, it would have truly posed a threat to us.”

Sha Lan felt a chill down her spine remembering that scene, every moment was critical, and if any team had made a mistake, it would have resulted in mass casualties.

Fortunately, everyone’s coordination was perfectly executed without any major errors. Otherwise, the current situation where no one was injured would not have occurred.

“That Ferocious Beast was actually so difficult to deal with? But you all still managed to take it down without anyone getting injured.” Su Bai praised.

Everyone being able to remain calm under pressure while coordinating between teams to take down this Ferocious Beast was a remarkable feat.

“The other Ferocious Beasts weren’t as difficult to handle. This one was the most challenging.” Sha Lan said.

Receiving praise made Sha Lan’s heart skip a beat. Likely, the other Warriors felt the same.

“Do these Ferocious Beasts have any other distinctive characteristics? For example, some that can burrow underground or breathe fire?” Su Bai continued asking.

He wanted to understand if these Ferocious Beasts had other unusual traits, as he needed to devise different strategies if they did.

However, he still hoped these Ferocious Beasts would not have such special abilities. Otherwise, devising countermeasures would be truly troublesome.

“Not that we know of, they’re all completely normal. The differences are just that some are fast, some are slow, some have strong defence, and some have good endurance.” Sha Lan explained.

Sha Lan had the best memory, remembering all characteristics and quantities very clearly.

“That’s good news, as long as they don’t have special abilities they’re easier to deal with.” Su Bai breathed a sigh of relief.

He was genuinely worried that Ferocious Beasts in this Primitive Era would be special. He hoped they did not develop abilities like soaring to Heaven and diving into the Earth, breathing fire and spitting mist.

As long as they did not have such overpowered abilities, dealing with them would not be an issue.

If they truly had such cheating abilities, then no matter how fast the Tribe developed, it would be difficult to resist these Ferocious Beast invasions.

Even if they could resist this year, they might not be able to next year. To eliminate these Ferocious Beasts, the Tribe would need to develop much faster in advance.

But the current Flame Dragon Tribe did not have the means to develop so far ahead, so this was fortunate news for them.

“Shaman, this time we brought back many things from their carcasses. Would you like to examine them all?” Sha Lan asked.

“Oh? Have someone bring them over for me to see.” Su Bai nodded, somewhat curious about what there might be.

“I’ll have someone bring them up now. Everything is placed in the square.” Sha Lan turned to instruct the maid at the door.

The Yong’an Building was particularly convenient now that it had maids. Shaman Priestesses were no longer required to make personal trips back and forth. They now just had to relay messages to the maids.

*Step step step…*

After more than ten minutes, all the items taken from the Ferocious Beasts’ carcasses were placed in the living room.

Su Bai looked at those varied items and asked. “Tell me what they all are.”

He was somewhat curious about those things, as each one looked quite strange.

“Shaman, this was taken from a Ferocious Beast that looked very much like a Wild Boar mixed with a Hedgehog.” Sha Lan handed over a long spine.

That spine was particularly long, a full metre in length, as thick as an adult’s wrist, essentially a refined spear.

The colour was also particularly attractive, with both ends a pale yellow while the middle was dark brown.

The sharpness at both ends was no less than a blade, causing bleeding with just a slight pierce.

The Warriors had spent considerable time removing these spines. Everyone had to be extremely careful, as carelessness would result in injury from these spines.

One Warrior got stabbed while collecting these spines, causing his entire finger to continuously bleed.

It looked like a fountain spurting, and without using a Shaman Bone Tablet to stop the bleeding and provide treatment, that person might have died from blood loss.

That Ferocious Beast, resembling both a Wild Boar and a Hedgehog, had many such spines distributed very densely on its body, making collection challenging.

Fortunately, these spines did not require much strength to extract. They came out easily with a slight tug.

Perhaps the Ferocious Beast could have launched these spines at any time, so they were not that attached to its body.

“The surface is extremely smooth, grip is excellent. Most importantly, it is very light and looks great.”

Su Bai examined this spine carefully and appreciated its build, continuing. “It can be turned into an excellent weapon.”

He spoke truthfully, as this long spine could replace spears, both essentially having the same function, though this spine would function even better.

“I completely agree with you, Shaman. This spine’s durability is amazing, It’s not easily broken.” Yan Hua immediately added.

Yan Hua had already tested it when throwing this long spine as a projectile against rocks. Even when she did that, it did not break.

Most importantly, the rocks showed some marks while the spine’s tip only had slight wear. This demonstrated how astoundingly durable they were.

“Would this long spine be difficult to sharpen?” Su Bai continued asking.

He wanted to know whether these long spines would be easy to sharpen once their ends became dull after prolonged use.
