Chapter 2297: Mercy to Your Enemy Is Cruelty to Yourself

”So will we go fight the Dragon Realm?”

Li Shuang asked in a dead serious tone. She looked pensive and seemed to think of all the possibilities that might happen to the Tang Empire.

That was not just a groundless prediction. First, her husband returned too early for a serious discussion. It meant something had happened during the talk, and it might escalate to another war.

Second, he returned through an unusual route. She didn’t know how her husband came from Arnain. There were many things that she didn’t understand about her husband’s power. She only knew that he was extremely powerful, even in the God Realm. She was aware of that after her business talk with the Cladeos Emporium.

Tang Shaoyang blinked and observed her wives’ expressions. This looked more like a family meeting than a meeting to discuss the Empire’s affairs. The Supreme Commander Zhang Mengyao, Prime Minister Li Shuang, and Vice Supreme Commander, also the head of the Healer Division, Kang Xue were in the room with him.

They came to assist the Tarrior in handling the ”monster” that escaped from Arnain, only to find out it was her husband who triggered the nationwide alarm. That was how he ended up with his three wives in this small room.

”Why do you think we will go to fight the Dragon Realm?”

”You returned too soon. It’s not even two hours since you left our territory in the God Realm. It’s too short for a discussion. Then you returned through an unusual route instead of the God Realm’s portal. You were forced to return through the unusual route because they tried to stop you from escaping. Am I right?”

Tang Shaoyang chuckled, shaking his head. ”Unfortunately, you are wrong this time, Babe. The only thing you are right about is that the talk broke down before we even had a proper discussion. However, I got what I wanted from my visit. It’s not a pointless visit, after all.”

He explained what happened, including Avyn’s story. He told them what happened to Avyn, the only thing he knew about.

The three women’s expressions changed several times. They sympathized with what happened to Avyn and were indignant when they heard the Dragon Realm was the one who sealed Avyn. This was the first time they learned about Avyn, and that she was actually not a dead spirit.

”I would like to fight our way to the Dragon Realm to free Avyn, but we are not in a position to add more enemies into our pocket. We need to get rid of the Nirvana Alliance and the God Order first, then we will revisit our plan to free Avyn. We will do everything to free ourselves, even if it means we have to go to war against the Dragon Realm.”

Zhang Mengyao remained cool-headed and assessed the situation calmly. She would like to go to the Dragon Realm to free Avyn right away, but the situation didn’t allow them to do so.

Having a relationship with one of the biggest merchants in the God Realm allowed him to learn more about the God Realm’s power structure. She knew the Dragon Realm was at the top, in a similar position to the Ancient Kingdom and also the four Guardian Factions who guarded the Void Gates.

”How’s your preparation? When will we be ready to attack the Nirvana Alliance?” Kang Xue asked in a serious tone and sounded eager to actually attack the Nirvana Alliance right now, by the sound of it.

She and Li Shuang were the two people who were not fond of war. They preferred the peace they had right now. There was no need to launch an attack when they were not under threat. They found a reason to actually start a war.

”We will discuss the details after the God Realm Champion. Don’t we all need one last advancement before fighting them?”

The moment he heard about the God Realm Champion, Tang Shaoyang decided when they would start their plan. He figured out that the God Realm Champion was what his people needed. The risk was there, pretty high. They would have to compete with the God Realm’s powerhouses, after all.

There was a possibility that he might lose his people, but it was worth the risk considering they could upgrade their bloodline and talent further. That was the most important reward in this event.

”We start the real preparation after the God Realm Champion. Our plan will change based on who gets the most benefit from the event, after all.”

On top of getting his people stronger, he still needed time for his Monster Lair project. He needed to clear more abandoned worlds.

”Alright, the timeline is clear now. Our priority will be getting rid of our enemies, then we will free Avyn after...” Zhang Mengyao took a deep breath. ”Inform the Dwarf Confederation to focus on developing new equipment for the Intelligence Division and Tarrior. Tell them to stop the construction project for the time being. We need a new upgrade in that regard.”

”I will inform TEAA to stock up on potions for our people and reduce sales for the time being. I heard they developed poison as well. We will use everything in our arsenal to get rid of our enemies!”

Kang Xue flinched upon hearing the use of poison. That was just wrong; she didn’t like it.

Zhang Mengyao noticed the change in expression on Kang Xue. Her expression hardened. ”Put away your morals in this war, Kang Xue.” She called her by her full name.

”This war is no longer about who’s right and wrong, but it’s a life-or-death situation between them and us. Remember that they will do everything to destroy us, because of what? Just because our husband has a class they fear? The God Order wants to destroy us because they want what we have.”

”Those people will use everything they have just to kill us, and we will do the same. Mercy to your enemy is cruelty to yourself. I...”

Zhang Mengyao paused, took a deep breath, and closed her eyes for a moment. She opened her eyes and finished her sentence, ”I will protect our family with everything I have. Even if it means I will become a monster! I will turn into a monster just to protect our family!”
