Chapter 2261: No Casualty

A dragon’s head materialized from Milecor’s shield. He had been right about his instinct that he might not be able to dodge the sword. All he could see was a blinding slash that accompanied a terrifying roar. His shield also roared in defiance, but it was meager compared to what came for him.

Milecor received the sword with the shield. His dragon defied the two dragons that came at him, along with the blurring slash. However, his dragon’s roar didn’t last long as it fell into a mute for a few seconds after the clash.

The shield’s outer defense was totally destroyed, and the sword came into contact with his shield. The outer defense reduced the impact of the slash, but the sword still came stronger than he could handle.

His feet sank into the ground. The earth below him shook, cracks spread out, and his right hand trembled from the impact. It was like a world had crashed into his shield. That was the only fitting description of what he experienced. If a world ever crashed into him, it might be similar to this.

The shield cracked in a second and shattered into pieces in the following second. That was when his life-saving artifact activated. Void Energy burst out from his artifact, capturing him into a black mass sphere made of Void Energy.

The sphere received the slash. A cut was made on the sphere before the clash exploded. A figure was sent flying from the explosion. Blood sprayed from his nose, mouth, and ears as the figure bounced off and on from the ground.

Milecor used his curved blade to stop himself from getting thrown into the void. His breathing ragged, chaotic. There was a part of his hand and legs that were no longer covered in green scales, revealing the hideous flesh wound that could not be healed with his regeneration.

His slit green eyes locked on the explosion. He quickly noticed how the Void Energy from his life-saving artifact was no longer there. It was as if something ate the void energy from the residual of his artifact.

He cackled at his foolish realization. He took the job with confidence that he had a chance against the new Executive Administrator. Then he had to face the cruel reality less than ten seconds into the duel.

The explosion dispersed, and a figure was floating on what remained of their clash. An azure colored in his right hand, and the sheath on his left hand.

”I surrender!” The lizardmen made a shocking declaration.

Milecor wanted to continue the fight a little longer. He might fail to kill Tang Shaoyang, but that was not the actual plan. He was meant to tire out Tang Shaoyang as long as he could, wasting Tang Shaoyang’s energy with prolonged battle.

The duel just ticked into ten seconds, and he surrendered. The reason was that his enemy finished his Bloodline Transformation. That explained why his opponent gave up chasing him.

The window after the class was enough time to activate the transformation. Of course, the transformation was not the only reason, but it was also because of the pressure emitted from Tang Shaoyang.

The dragon blood in his body screamed at him in the form of instinct. His instinct didn’t just tell him the danger, but it told him to submit. His head buzzed, his chest heaved up and down.

That was not the only thing. He could sense and smell Death from his opponent. It was not faint, clear as Death. Another volatile energy, just like Void Energy. What made it worse was the fact that there were more mixed in. That was enough for him to give up before it was too late.

If he went all out, he might be able to wound his opponent. But he must pay the price with his life, and that would defeat his purpose of taking the job. On top, he might hate the Executive Administrator, but there was no personal grudge between them.

Milecor treasured his life more. He would rather not awaken his dragon bloodline to become a true dragon than risk his life. His probability of surviving the duel was less than ten percent. It was the probability to survive, not win. He quickly realized that he needed more than a miracle to win.

[Tang Shaoyang (Tang Empire) won the first duel!]

Tang Shaoyang clicked his tongue as he looked at the notification. He didn’t expect his opponent to surrender in less than fifteen seconds. The duel was far from satisfying. It was far from enough to see his progress, to set the depth of his sword.

[It doesn’t show the depth of your sword, but that’s enough to tell you how dangerous your sword is.] Zara consoled her annoyed man.

”He gave up after one technique and one skill. I thought Ten Stars Accord is supposed to be a major powerhouse, but why are their people so weak?”

[It’s because he knows he doesn’t need to risk his life. It’s a duel with his life on the line, but he didn’t fight with all his might because he knew you would not kill him after he surrendered. For them, this is just a job because Arnain is not his world] Vandir the Death King added.

[Can you give me your fifth opponent? I want to test your copy. There’s some success in my experiment, and I want to test it out against a God Rank.]

Vandir was talking about Tang Shaoyang’s dead body. Tang Shaoyang killed himself just to give Vandir his body, their contract. It seemed the Necromancer had some success with his recent experiment. He recalled that Vandir was experimenting with the souls that he gave in his fight against the Demonic Cultivator with Soul Cultivation.

”You can test your creation when we clean the next abandoned world. Our next target is one of the infamous abandoned worlds. We might meet Rank 10 Calamity or even Rank 11 Calamity.”

The Administrator’s record only registered up to Rank 9 Calamity, something that was supposed to be equal to a strong God Rank. The Administrator’s record was what was used by the System, but Tang Shaoyang found something stronger than Rank 9 Calamity.

It was registered as Rank 9 Calamity, but that one Rank 9 Calamity won against more than twenty other calamities in the same rank. That was when a new rank was added to the record. As he kept cleaning the old abandoned world, he discovered Rank 11 Calamity as well.

Tang Shaoyang told Vandir to test his new creation against the calamity, not wanting to reveal what Vandir had to the whole world.

His next plan for the war against the God Order and the Nirvana Alliance was related to the calamity as well. But he needed an empty world to start with the plan. That was for later; he needed to pack this War of Worlds first.
