Chapter 2296: A Little Test

”You are different from the Avyn I know of. This is not you.”

Tang Shaoyang could feel her conflicting emotions. The turmoil in her head and heart. She was holding back for him, for her new family.

”You know it too that they will not leave me be, Avyn. Especially Zonaras. He seems to be aware of you, and he wants to get rid of me so you will remain in that world of yours.”

It didn’t take a genius to see what Zonaras was up to. There seemed to be animosity between the Kankara’Xeo and Zonaras’ clans. Both were Ice Dragons but also different. They were from two different clans.

”Let’s forget about them, Avyn. What do you want to do? Let’s take this from a different perspective. In the end, whether this will become full-blown conflict or not depends on Orve’s decision. You don’t need to worry that the whole God Realm will turn against us.”

[You can’t just blindly trust Orve, Boss.] Vandir disagreed. [Your experiences should have told you about it, no?]

Tang Shaoyang shrugged, ”I don’t trust him blindly. But he’s right that he could set up an ambush there if he wants to kill me. They can gang up on me back there with the four Dragon Guardians. However, he allowed me to leave. That’s enough to show that he didn’t want me dead... for now.”

He clicked his tongue. ”Stop distracting me, Vandir!”

”The main topic now is not about the Dragon Realm. Who cares about them? It’s you who matters, Avyn. What do you want to do? Just so you know, you have comrades who are quite wrong in the head that they would join us to fight those dragons. I bet Karan is quite itchy to fight those dragons.”

[You are right about it, Master. You should allow me to fight one of them before we leave. I can test the waters for us all.]

Karan instantly responded. He spoke louder and more excitedly than usual when it came to fighting the dragon.

[I didn’t have the honor to fight the dragon when I was alive. I can’t miss this chance!]

”You heard them, Avyn. But as I said, let’s leave that for the future us to handle. For now, do you want to hit an abandoned world?”

Tang Shaoyang was trying to tell Avyn that she didn’t have to come to terms with her inherited memories and emotions right now. He didn’t tell her to run away, as she eventually must face it. He wanted her to be ready for it, but that was for the future for them to handle. She needed to calm her emotions for now and make the decision later.

Avyn took a deep breath and responded in a loud voice.

[Let’s do it! Maybe you are right that I will get better after channeling my anger on Calamity!] She screamed out her frustration and emotion into it, turning them into killing intent.

Tang Shaoyang could sense it. He could sense his Calamity Spirits stirred up, misunderstanding that they would be her target.

He messaged Ira to speed up their next trip to the abandoned world. There was still some time, as they needed the right number of people to join the mission.

Ira responded to his message so quickly, telling him the mission was already up. She didn’t forget to ask about the result of his meeting with the Stygian Wither Clan.

She once voiced that the Nebula Alliance, the alliance of her faction, wanted to establish a friendly relationship and possibly become an ally of the Tang Empire. That was why she was interested in the result of his meeting with the Stygian Wither Clan.

[The meeting is a disaster. It was over before we even started the discussion, but I met the Dragon Monarch and their three Dragon Guardians. Don’t ask me the details.]

He was teasing Ira by telling her that he met the Dragon Monarch and the Dragon Guardians while returning alive. It sounded like he successfully made a pact with the Dragon Realm instead of just one clan.

”Let’s go home. Oh, maybe Elin’s cooking will improve your mood. What do you want? I heard Elin is currently learning to make cakes and sweets.”

Tang Shaoyang returned to the Earth while discussing what to eat. He returned through the special passage that alarmed the Tang Empire’s upper echelon.

The portal to Arnain was located underground, isolated in a small room with the toughest iron and reinforced with an elven entrance. It would not break easily, but they also set up an alarm in case the creature from Arnain snuck into this room. He triggered that alarm without realizing it.

Tang Shaoyang forgot that they set up an alarm for this room. He took another portal to leave this isolated room and arrived in the Tarrior’s main barracks.

This portal was confined in a big hall, big enough to contain a thousand people. When he arrived in the hall, he quickly realized that he was surrounded by Tarriors. Not just one, but hundreds of them.

Zhang Mengyao was not around, or else she could envision with her talent that it was him who would come out. The ones who led the people were Alton, Moonsong, and Lu An.

The best course of action was to clear the misunderstanding. He should have done that before they attacked him, but he was being mischievous and wanted to test out the Tarrior.

Tang Shaoyang released his aura, which quickly put everyone down on their knees. He didn’t fully unleash his aura; that would be too much. Around fourteen people remained on their feet. Lu An, Moonsong, and Alton were part of the fourteen people.

Shadow burst out from Lu An, trying to engulf the whole hall with his shadow. His plan was to cover everything in his shadow and evacuate the Tarrior who was not able to fight. However, the shadow stopped halfway as Lu An blurted out, ”Ah!?”
