Chapter 2259: Princess’ Order

Tang Shaoyang spent his five days in a friendly spar, applying what he learned in martial arts into actual battle. Lu An and the others joined in, fighting him with their skills, while he relied only on his martial arts.

He enjoyed it; it was more fun than he expected. While he defeated all the challengers, he still learned one or two things, fighting all kinds of people with different abilities.

He could see the improvement, no longer relying on his absolute strength and energy. He was more technical than a brute... less of a brute.

Another interesting fight was when he fought a mage. Rosalie joined the Spar on the third day. She was known for the embodiment of fire. She was known as the Fire Witch Sisters alongside Liang Suyin.

The current Rosalie was unknown to Tang Shaoyang. He knew she had several types of fire; her ability to control and manipulate it was terrifying. She also reached the God Rank, and that was it. Aside from that, he didn’t know much about his wife’s combat prowess.

The Fire Essence gift from the Sacred Realm further strengthened her fire. He didn’t know the properties of each fire, and he learned them when he fought her. Her fire didn’t just burn. It was poison, it ate your energy like a predator, it could be cold to freeze organs.

Again, she just met her worst opponent. He was immune to her poison because of his physique; his energy was too strong to be her fire’s prey, and he could not be frozen with just her fire. His sword cut through her fire, dispersing it, and with her speed, he quickly closed the distance.

She was not a pushover, but she was still defeated in twenty-seven minutes. In the first place, he was a nightmare for a mage. The match-up was not fair in the first place.

The second wife who fought him was Jasmine. She was another mage-type, controlling plants, roots, and using leaves like blades in their fight. She destroyed the arena with her plants, a destructive power when it came to a war, but less effective when it came to a one-on-one duel.

The third mage was Zowen. The Magus, with her extreme mastery of lightning and gravitation force, was quite tricky to fight. She was a true mage who didn’t rely on her Lightning Elemental Power only. She used all kinds of spells that he didn’t recognize.

She had at least three different escape spells, like [Blink]. Her barrier was tough to breach, always enough to buy her time to cast her escape spell. Her new class was even trickier.

She combined different types of blob spirits and created a spell from them. There seemed to be no cooldown as she could cast up to five spells almost at the same time. Hell, she even created a meteor that caused a panic in the academy. Fortunately, his Chaos Fire was enough to eat the whole meteor before it crashed.

After the meteor ordeal, he had to knock the crazed magus instead of trying to push her further. He didn’t know what kind of crazed spell she would use next. But one thing was for sure, Magus was a war machine without a doubt.

That was a mage in general, a war machine on the battlefield. They might be the replacement of rockets and tanks in modern war, or maybe the old war after the System took over.

Lu An fought him three times, and he beat him pretty much easily in those three spars. His younger self was relying too much on his shadow. A surprise attack would never work against him anymore with his Absolute Sense. After the third exchange, he told Lu An to spare his time for cultivation. The cultivation might help him to complete his set instead of relying on his shadow.

It was five days, and he gained more confidence in his sword. He beat Tian Zhong in their second rematch, with just a sword. He never lost in the first fight; he was just getting too engrossed to notice he was out of bounds.

Five days passed, and the day of the duel came. There were still five minutes before the designated time, and he had just finished his breakfast with his family.

He was holding his second daughter and first son. Tang Huan Mei was sitting on his left thigh, and Gavriel was on his right thigh. They were busy with their ”live” bird toy made by the dwarves. If the toy were imbued with mana—it would float while flapping its wing—it would coo, making random bird noises.

The two were busy inspecting the toy, trying to find where the noise came from. Meanwhile, his first daughter was sitting at the table right before him. Her mouth was full of Mochi as she put one into her mouth, a whole Mochi. Elin learned how to make the sweet from the Asahi region.

Her favorite one was fruit filling; the mutated strawberry and mutated mango were her favorites. His favorite was the coffee one.

If not for the occasion, her mother would scold her for sitting at the table. Ava let her be because her father was about to leave for a duel. She also said something with her mouth full, and Tang Shaoyang could not make it out even with his sharp hearing. Xiulan made a cute voice that earned a glare from her mother while he was laughing, pinching her puffed cheek, which earned him a slap from his daughter.

Xiulan swallowed the food in her mouth after a while, then she waggled her short index finger at her father, ”I am no longer a child, Daddy. You can’t just pinch a lady’s cheek. It’s a no-no. You should pinch Gavriel or Huan Mei!”

Hearing their names called, both toddlers looked up at their big sister. They were confused for a moment, but then they moved toward the green dragon that rested on their big sister’s shoulder. Their eyes shone as they threw the two at the same time.

The bird toy hit the resting small dragon, startling Nunu as the dragon fell onto the table. Then the two little devils laughed as they found it funny. Especially when they heard the whine from Nunu.

Xiulan’s attention immediately shifted to her brother and sister, ”No no no no... You can’t throw things at Nunu. It’s bad! A bad child will not get a new toy.”

Meanwhile, Nunu peeked through her master’s shoulder, looking at the two mischievous little devils. The two little devils were her nightmare.

Tang Shaoyang just smiled as he watched how Xiulan tried to teach her siblings. The two still didn’t understand. The two just stared at their big sister with their big eyes.

Then his eyes fell on Nunu. The dragon was still the size of his palm, slightly bigger. They didn’t grow, but that was intentional. Kalliyan did something on them, something like a seal to suppress their growth. The reason was simple: Kalliyan wanted the dragon to grow together with the master, which was Xiulan.

Kalliyan would put off the seal once Kalliyan was ready for her adventure. Growing together would deepen their bonds.

Tang Shaoyang agreed with it and even supported the idea. He wanted the dragon to act as protection for her daughter, but he also didn’t want the dragon to grow too strong, either. He wanted her daughter to get stronger on her own instead of relying on the dragon’s protection.

Xiulan must be able to protect herself from danger because he might not be able to stay on her side all the time. He was aching and in fear of the fact that her daughter would be in danger, but it was the best for her. Of course, it would be a while until he would let her daughter go on an adventure, not now or next year.

Tang Xiulan seemed to remember something as she shifted her attention to her father, ”Will you kill people again?”

Tang Shaoyang was surprised by her daughter’s question as it came out of nowhere. Then he turned toward Ava as she shook her head in response.

”I didn’t watch the duel... But the teachers and other kids talk about it a lot... I thought killing people was bad...”

Tang Shaoyang didn’t cut her, listening to her until the end and nodding, ”You are right, killing people is bad, but I didn’t kill them.”

That caused confusion in Tang Xiulan, as evidenced by her obvious expression.

”They are bad people who want to take our home, hurt your mothers, and your siblings.”

Tang Xiulan’s eyes widened at the revelation.

”I was protecting our home, protecting Mommy, you, and your siblings. The only way to stop them is to defeat them in the duel.”

The little girl quickly stood up on the table, shouting, ”Who wants to take our home!? Where do the people want to hurt my mom, my brother, and my sister? I will...”

Her words came to a halt when she met her mother’s glare. She reluctantly backed off on her antic, which was another misfortune for Nunu. The green dragon was dangling on her master’s back, hiding from the two little devils. When her master suddenly stood up, she lost her grip and fell on her back. That made the two little devils laugh at her, clapping their hands.

Fortunately, her master was kind as Xiulan scoped the little dragon in her embrace, ”I am sorry, Nunu. It upset me that bad people want to take my home and hurt my family...”

Then she looked up at Tang Shaoyang, ”You must stop the bad people, Daddy! Make sure...” Her words came to a halt once more as Ava was still on her.

”Yes, my princess. I will obey your order,” Tang Shaoyang playfully played along with her daughter. Unfortunately, he didn’t have time to continue the play as he was less than a minute away from the duel. He kissed her daughter’s head and left for the duel.
