Chapter 2252: Behind The Scene

Ebbe Telines, Luke Ponteus, Harmond, and Andre watched the duel from the Elmsano Empire. As Tang Shaoyang predicted. It was Ebbe Telines and Luke Ponteus’s idea for this War of Worlds. They truly wanted to see how strong their new comrade was for many different reasons.

Alas, the Elmsano Empire’s chosen failed to draw Tang Shaoyang’s strength. The first three duels ended in a flash. Then he toyed with his opponent in the fourth duel. The fifth duel was unbearable and boring to watch, as all they saw was fire.

They could not use their skills since they were watching it on the screen. No skills would work to see through the fire. Among the four Executive Administrators, Andre was the first one to leave. Ten minutes into the fifth duel, he left without saying a word. His expression remained unreadable.

”This is pointless. Your people are not strong enough to draw that runt’s actual strength. This is unwatchable, Luke!” Harmond was the first one to break the silence.

”We predicted this...” Luke Ponteus replied in a low voice, not sounding confident in his own answer.

”We need someone stronger if we want to see him going seriously,” Ebbe Telines said in a low voice while rubbing his chin, ”Maybe we should hire the Ten Stars Accord for our next War of Worlds.”

It was known that Tang Shaoyang had a conflict with the Ten Stars Accord, especially among the high-ranking Administrators. He wiped out the Shadow Star’s main base by himself after their failed attempt to assassinate him.

”No, don’t! Hiring the Ten Stars Accord into this game might draw Clementine and Arion’s ire,” Harmond tried to stop the idea, but Luke Ponteus seemed to have a different idea.

”We already did. Arion takes our Chimeras back, and we are scrambling to fill the gap left by our Chimera Army! Might as well go all the way instead of going half-assed!” Luke Ponteus no longer cared what Clementine and Arion would do toward him.

”Then I have to step down from your plan. We agree to test him out, not try to kill him. As much as I loathe our new comrade, I am not going to go to war against him. Not when Clementine and Arion are on his side!” Harmond decisively made up his mind the moment he noticed the mania in Luke Ponteus’ eyes.

”Coward!” Luke Ponteus raised his voice, pointing his finger at Harmond.

Harmond shrugged, standing up, and then he disappeared from the room. A cheap provocation would not work on him.

”You contact the Ten Stars Accord. Their reputation took a hit after the Shadow Star was hit. They have become a laughing stock in the God Realm. I bet they want to kill Tang Shaoyang for what he did to one of their allies,” Ebbe Telines said to Luke.

”Why me? Why don’t you contact them?” Luke Ponteus frowned.

”I need to sort out which world I can sacrifice for the next War of Worlds. Unless you want to offer one of yours for the next one?”

Luke Ponteus felt something was amiss, but he could not figure it out, ”Alright... We will challenge his world again in a year.”

One year was the cooldown for the War of Worlds. The challenged world could be challenged one year after their last War of Worlds. So yeah, they wanted to use the same trick just to find out how strong Tang Shaoyang was. They wanted to know before the Tang Empire became too big to handle.

Ebbe Telines stood up, stretched his stiff neck and body, ”Then I will sort out things on my end. I wish to hear the good news soon, and don’t worry. If the Ten Stars Accord asks for an outrageous payment, I will cover half of it. Though I doubt we will have to pay. We are giving them a chance for revenge. They will do it for free.”

Ebbe Telines disappeared after saying his pieces, leaving Luke Ponteus on his own.

*** ***

After winning the War of Worlds, Tang Shaoyang led the Tang Empire to occupy Bahmes. It was a weird invasion where everything was empty. The only thing left was the roaming beasts in their habitat.

They needed to take it over quickly because of the dungeons. If they left the world empty for too long, there might be a dungeon break. They also wanted to preserve what was standing on Bahmes instead of rebuilding it.

Tarrior, TEID, and Dungeon Division were working together to secure the territory. The takeover was quick as Tarrior took over the city, turning the city into a military outpost.

Meanwhile, TEID and Dungeon Division would map out the dungeons and send a team to a dungeon that was close to a dungeon break. The most important resource was the Dimensional Tower, and Bahmes had three of them.

Two-dimensional towers were under the Varomaver Kingdom’s territory, and one was in the Uzaborge Kingdom. Why did Tang Shaoyang pick the Uzaborge Kingdom? It was because of the Dimensional Tower’s rank.

The two Dimensional Towers in Varomaver Kingdom were Mortal Rank and Sky Rank. The two lowest-ranked Dimensional Towers. Meanwhile, the one under the Uzaborge Kingdom was the Hell and Heaven Rank Dimensional Tower.

Of course, the Tang Empire was not giving the two Dimensional Towers to the other factions. The Tang Empire would take the Uzaborge Kingdom, but that only applied to the Tang Empire, not its vassals. It was known that the Tang Empire’s vassals were an ”independent faction”.

Zhang Mengyao ordered the Tang Empire’s vassals to take the territory with the Sky Rank Dimensional Tower. The tower might not have as many resources as the one they had, but that was a good training ground for the lower-ranking.

The Duchy of Michalina, the Elven Kingdom, the Hans, Asahi, Olympus, and the Adventurer Guild worked together to secure that territory. They acted quicker than Tang Shaoyang, establishing the neutral territory for themselves. The territory would be under six factions with a council to govern the territory. Each faction would send a member to be part of the council.

It was a smooth takeover as Bahmes was occupied in less than three days, with each faction claiming its new territory. Everything was quickly under control, even though they were presented with another problem.

First, they needed people to stay in this world, to look after this world. The moment the Tang Empire took over the world, the connection to the God Realm was cut. So there was no portal connection to any realms in this world. There was no immediate danger to the world.

Second, it was about the Dimensional Tower. The one on Earth was Sky Rank and Ancient Rank, and the one in the Uzaborge was Hell and Heaven Rank, the second-highest-ranked tower in terms of difficulty, only below the God Rank Dimensional Tower.

With the Varomaver Kingdom and the Uzaborge Kingdom’s disappearance, the progress would reset. It meant they needed a team, not an army, to climb up the tower. The worst scenario was that they had to fight the other factions that had established themselves ahead of them.

The Ancient Rank Dimensional Tower had a limit of five God Ranks per faction. The limit was upped for the Hell and Heaven Dimensional Tower. The tower allowed 100 God Ranks per faction at once. It would be more chaotic than the Ancient Ranked Dimensional Tower.
