Chapter 2278: Visiting Dragon Realm Next?

It took longer to clear Wintermont than the previous mission. It took him three weeks to clear the Wintermont. The reason was that Tang Shaoyang wanted to catch all Rank 9, Rank 10, and Rank 11 Calamities. On top of that, he needed to run an experiment with his skill.

Unfortunately, Tang Shaoyang could not find the candidate for Lust. There was no Demonic Calamity that wanted to form the Companion Bond with him. Envy and Sloth were a rare event, after all.

However, the harvest was not bad at all. While he didn’t get the good material for summoning and advancement, he got more than one hundred Demonic Calamities. He sent them to Arnain, truly turning the empty world into a Demonic Calamity world.

Each of them was above average, even maybe in the top ten percent of the God Rank in the God Realm. Their actual strength remained unknown until he put them into a battle.

It was a pity that he could not finish this Seven Deadly Sins thing. He was genuinely curious what would happen to them once he completed it. That was for later because he asked Ira to schedule another mission.

Clearing the abandoned world would be his weekly activity for the following year. He needed to create an army of the Demonic Calamity to fill Arnain.

While it was a pity that he didn’t get Lust, he got a Death Knight, an evolved Death Knight. However, he didn’t really know what to do with the Death Knight.

Rayal Saint Claire seemed to be undergoing an identity crisis. Two weeks and four days had passed since his Demonification, and the Death Knight was still in conflict with his new identity.

Rayal was in denial, not willing to accept his current state. At some point, he challenged Vandir to a fight. The Death who was curious about the newly evolved Death Knight gladly accepted the challenge.

Of course, Vandir was never going to fight the battle himself. He summoned four Death Knights and ganged up on Rayal.

Rayal was doing well at first, but seemed to be at an advantage at some point. However, Rayal was in the adjustment phase to his new power. He himself didn’t know how much about his power, his ability as the Death Knight, because he awakened his awareness and emotion. It was not just limited to the newly upgraded power, but the power as an undead as a whole, restricting his own Death Power.

Vandir seemed to take pleasure in teasing Rayal, as it was what he had been doing in the last two weeks. Rayal kept challenging Vandir, and Vandir kept accepting the challenge, beating Rayal with more powerful undead each time.

The Death King didn’t forget to mock Rayal, telling the guy why his kingdom fell and went on. The skeleton was trying to provoke Rayal, so Rayal could fight with his full power. That was what he tried to do. That was why Tang Shaoyang let them be.

Tang Shaoyang approached the Death Knight, ”What are you going to do now? The mission is over, and it’s time to go back.”

”If you are going to wallow in your despair and want to die...” He paused for a moment, ”You can stay behind. You will be recycled along with this world into the God Realm.”

He didn’t have the energy to persuade a depressed Death Knight. He was not even good at it, so he would let Rayal make the decision for himself.

The Death Knight looked up, her eyes were a swirling death energy. He didn’t have physical eyes, and his gaze was quite eerie even for Tang Shaoyang.

”Apparently, you are my Master now...” There was a pause. Rayal looked like he wanted to say more, but he didn’t continue, ”What I want doesn’t really matter. You are my Master! I can’t disobey you!”

”And I don’t need a half-hearted underling like you. You will ruin me if I use you in my plan while being half-assed. As I said, make your choice. If you want to die, then you can stay behind.”

Rayal just stared at Tang Shaoyang, and didn’t know how to respond. In another, this was a second chance, but the worst second chance possible. What was the point of this second? A life as an undead with no purpose.

If Vandir were still alive, he might persist with vengeance as his fuel. However, Vandir was dead like him. His killer and his kingdom’s nightmare lived as a pitiful spirit. So what was the point of living?

That meant he only had one choice: death. He might as well stay dead. It was better than living with no purpose. But then there was this tugging feeling that made him hesitate at the thought of dying for the second time.

Tch!

Tang Shaoyang clicked his tongue, then he pointed at a one-hundred-meter-tall portal gate, ”If you can’t make up your mind yet, then you can stay in Arnain for the time being. Give me your answer in a month... No, you can have a year. If you can’t make up your mind by then, I will kill you myself.”

They were currently close to the portal gate to Arnain, right next to them. Sloth was still sleeping next to the portal gate. Sox and Somi were close by with their pack, fulfilling their duty to guard the gate.

The silence continued for another twenty seconds before Rayal got up and bowed toward Tang Shaoyang, ”Thank you for your understanding, My Lord. I...”

”Don’t feel grateful yet, Rayal. Arnain might be more dangerous than this place. I might have the authority to command you, but we are not connected in any way. The Demonic Calamity in Arnain might regard you as an enemy.”

The connection between him and Rayal was fainter than his connection to the unnamed Demonic Calamity. Rayal might be regarded as an invader, and the Demonic Calamity might attack him on sight.

”Just so you know, Arnain is a world without order. It’s a lawless, empty world that would be occupied by the Demonic Calamity. More and more of them would take over that world.”

Rayal felt silent. The world might be dangerous, but it might be the best place for him to think over his situation and his future. If he decided to die, then he would let the Demonic Calamity kill him instead of making things difficult for Tang Shaoyang.

”I am still grateful for the chance you gave, My Lord.”

Rayal bowed his head.

”I am leaving now, My Lord.”

The Death Knight turned his back to Tang Shaoyang and headed into the portal. Sloth opened one of his eyes when Rayal approached the gate. As the Death Knight disappeared, Sloth got up.

He looked at Tang Shaoyang with his seven fluffy tails fluttering, then he looked into the gate. He bowed once before entering the gate. Then it was followed by Somi and Sox, and also their pack.

There were the last Demonic Calamities in this world, and it was about time to return. His business in this world was over. Two weeks rest, delving into his Heavenly Scripture, and maybe having a sparring with the other God Ranks before leaving for another abandoned world.

”Why don’t you persuade him to serve you? I guarantee you, Rayal is one of a kind knights that you want under your command. It’s a pity that I failed to push him.”

Vandir shook his head in regret.

”You know I am not good with that kind of thing,” Tang Shaoyang shrugged, ”He might be as strong as you mentioned, but three or four Demonic Calamity should be enough to defeat him, no? It’s not like he’s special.”

”Maybe you are right, but I think he is strong enough to hold off even six or seven Demonic Calamities. But yeah, when you say it like that, he’s not that special since you look at them in their power.”

Vandir agreed because he had a different perspective from Tang Shaoyang. Rayal was an interesting subject to him, a subject that was worth studying. It was a pity that he lost his control over Rayal after the Demonification, or else, things would get more interesting.

”My decision to serve you truly pays off, Master. You keep providing something interesting, keep giving me new stuff to think about. On top of that, your new body and cultivation are also interesting... Then you have this new, unique energy as well. It has been full of surprises following you, Master.”

Those were genuine words coming from the Death King. His voice shivered in excitement.

Tang Shaoyang quickly recalled Vandir back to the Spirit World. He was not used to that side of Vandir. He was spooked by his spirit.

”Good call. He gives me a creep.”

Zara quickly chimed in.

The mission was over, and Tang Shaoyang recalled all his spirits except for the five in the fort. Envy had left earlier. She was now in Arnain, or maybe she had crossed to Earth. She mentioned not wanting to live together with the other Demonic Calamity.

Tang Shaoyang switched places with one of his spirits in the fort before recalling all five knights back. There was no casualty; all teams returned without missing a single member.

They were teleported back to Administrator Space not long after, tallying their scores for their credit.

Tang Shaoyang didn’t really touch his credit after acquiring the God of Martial and Shepherd of Spirit Beast class. He realized that he needed to get to the depth of each class before getting another new class.

”We have two weeks... Maybe we should visit the Dragon Realm next.”

He didn’t forget Krazon’s invitation, and he needed to do his research about the God Realm Champion. It seemed it would be a massive event if Executive Administrators also joined.
