Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 105: Chapter 104: On Whether Evolution Theory Can Cross Dimensions

”Primitive man?”

The variety of Devil Fruits is vast, and theoretically, each category of Zoan-type Fruits can have a regular type, a Mythical type, and an Ancient type.

The Human-Human Fruit is a major category within Zoan-type Devil Fruits, but the Ancient types of Human-Human Fruits... stronger ordinary humans?

”Yes, if the encyclopedia is correct, this is the Primitive Fruit... a fruit that can turn someone into a primitive man after eating it.”

Queen was also puzzled by this. The most basic ability of Zoan Fruits is the three-stage transformation. Most Zoan Fruits’ greatest strength lies in the Human-Beast Form, which allows a person to maintain human flexibility while possessing the power of a beast.

However, the Human-Beast Form of this Primitive Fruit... appears to only have muscle-enhancing effects.

”What stage of primitive man?”

The scope of primitive man is vast. If the theory of evolution applies in this world and is reasonable, then the more primitive, the more similar to monkeys; the more modern, the more human-like.

Moreover, this world does not only have the human race; there are many sub-human species, like the Long-legged Race, Long-armed Race, Three-Eyed Race, Snake-headed Race, Fishman Race, Fur Race, Giant Race, Dwarves Race. Whether they share the same ancestor in ancient times is an untouched subject.

If they do, the potential of this fruit might be enormous.

”The encyclopedia description... should be modern primitive men, feels like very strong wild men, nothing more detailed is recorded.”

The thick encyclopedia naturally contains more than just names and appearances; it also has a rough description of abilities. Even though the Primitive Fruit only has a few words recorded, the image it portrays is already very close to modern humans.

”I can’t, Lord Arceus, this isn’t my field of research. I don’t know anything more detailed. Maybe we should find someone to test it on?”

”Forget it, let’s store it first. It’s an Ancient type after all; better not waste it.”

If it doesn’t work out, it can always be given to the Thousand-Year Dragons. Although they’ve been modified, their modification still allows them to consume Devil Fruits. The Human-Human Fruit is quite useful for non-humans.

However, if an ordinary person were to eat the most ordinary Human-Human Fruit, what the result would be might be very interesting.

”Yes, I understand.”

”How are those new fruit seedlings I gave you doing?”

”Growing well. Lord Arceus, the seeds you cultivated are indeed extraordinary. The fast-growing crops have already borne fruit, the taste is excellent, and I have never tasted anything like it before.”

”Keep up the good work; you won’t lack good things. However, there are certain aspects you need to be mindful of, you know what I mean.”

”Rest assured, I’m very attentive to those issues now. The island’s residents and the group of pirates under me currently have a good impression of me.”

He knew what Arceus was emphasizing, which was his previous disregard for his subordinates. After prolonged correction, this issue has been addressed, and now his direct subordinates receive fairly decent treatment.

This includes, but is not limited to, giving them platters made with special fruits freshly produced in the laboratory.

This is with a view to the future; otherwise, Queen might easily become an unstable factor within the Hundred Beasts.

However, at this time, a strange noise reached Arceus’s ears.

”Did you hear something?”

”It sounds like something is... sparking? No one should dare cause trouble here. Is the generator broken? Hold on, I’ll go check.”

Saying this, Queen walked out of what belonged to Arceus’s room, or it could be called a villa. If not for Kaidou’s inclination not to settle permanently on this island, the houses here might have been directly built into a palace.

Recently, Queen has been luckier in various aspects, gaining new breakthroughs with Haki, and has not suffered any unknown attacks for some time. But as he walked out the door, he saw a white blur rushing towards him.

It didn’t look very big, but the static noise was coming from here. Then he got a foot planted right on his face.

Years of instinctive reflexes kicked in, and a Haki Defense instantly blocked the attack, and he reached out to grab the unidentified object.

”Who are you? That fur kid?”

”Well done, Queen! Don’t let her get away!”

Shaina and Zeraora came chasing from the side. Some time ago, Shaina was arranging new rooms for them, everything was fine until a gust of wind blew the clouds away in the sky, and then something happened.

In an instant, she looked up at the sky, and then her tail and hair began to grow rapidly, her whole body turning pure white, and she entered this uncontrollable state.

Initially, she started frantically attacking some nearby creatures, then seemingly judged that she couldn’t defeat Shaina and Zeraora, so she started running around aimlessly.

Not knowing what had happened, Shaina and Zeraora kept chasing behind her, not daring to take action, until Queen caught her.

Listening to Shaina’s description, Queen looked at the moon overhead; today was a full moon, and everything suddenly made sense.

”You’re still young; this is the Fur Race’s ’true’ form, the Moon Lion, but this little one seems untrained and has lost control.”

”Moon Lion?”

”Yes, on the day of the full moon, as long as someone from the Fur Race sees the moon, it awakens the dormant wildness within them. If they can control it, their strength will soar, but if not, they’ll attack nearby creatures indiscriminately until the moon disappears or they exhaust themselves.”

In terms of knowledge, Shaina and King were indeed not as versed as Queen; their life experiences were entirely different.

However, Setsuna didn’t want to listen to Queen’s lecture; a strong electric current burst forth from her body, but nothing happened.

Zeraora took over Setsuna directly, and all the electricity released was absorbed cleanly by him.

”Indeed, he’s also of the Fur Race, right? Let the Fur Race handle the matters of the Fur Race.”

”He’s different; he was created by Lord Sacred Beast.”

”Should I inject her with a sedative? Although in this state, it might not work...”

Queen didn’t ask more; Arceus probably had his own plans. He only needed to understand Zeraora’s uniqueness; however, while they were debating how to handle it, a bell’s chime rang from behind them.

The Bell of Healing, this chime even calmed the berserk Setsuna down.

This loss-of-control state undoubtedly belongs to an abnormal state, and the healing chime naturally restores peace.

”Take her back to rest, hang the curtains thick. Zeraora, come with me.”

Though Zeraora didn’t experience the Moon Lion transformation, the manifestation of the Moon Lion is a color change to white, enhanced strength, and varying hair lengths among individuals, so Arceus planned to add a skin function for Zeraora.
