Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 164: Chapter 163: What Does Kurozumi Orochi’s Deal Have to Do with Me or the Hundred Beasts?

CP0, full name CIPHER POL - AIGIS 0, is known as the strongest shield of the Heavenly Celestial Dragons, protecting their safety. The selection process for CP0 is very strict; loyalty and strength are both necessary.

Loyalty needs no further mention, and as for strength, without it, they cannot protect those Heavenly Celestial Dragons. Although the Heavenly Celestial Dragons are of noble status, attacking them comes at a tremendous cost. However, many still wish to take the lives of the Heavenly Celestial Dragons.

Many families have been ruined because of the Heavenly Celestial Dragons, and when a person has lost everything, all threats become meaningless to them. The Heavenly Celestial Dragons themselves have unreliable natures and often appear in various places, so the World Government must always prepare security plans.

Otherwise, most CP0 members have to wear masks when they go out; on one hand, it’s necessary for espionage activities, and on the other hand, it’s easy to get stabbed in the back.

To divert conflict, the World Government chooses to exploit Non-Adhering Countries while using pirates to attract conflict. Under this bizarre management style, more and more pirates are appearing on the Sea, and even though the true Great Pirate Era has yet to arrive, the chaos on the Sea is increasing daily.

Among them are powerful ability users, and in this situation, Seastone products have become a necessity. However, in Wano Kuni, Seastone is scarce.

Ever since the Kozuki Family closed off Wano Kuni countless years ago, the products of Wano Kuni have ceased to be exported. Many Seastone Handcuffs outside are century-old antiques.

Due to Wano Kuni’s geography, domestic powers, and various unknown reasons, the World Government did not intervene at the time, as the cost was too high. Thus, Wano Kuni entered a long period of isolation.

A short time ago, Kurozumi Orochi’s people contacted the World Government, proposing a stable Seastone trade. The World Government did not refuse this and dispatched this CP0 agent as a representative to Wano Kuni.

Just ten minutes ago, he was still having a friendly conversation with Orochi.

It must be said, Orochi is quite adept at pretending to borrow a tiger’s might, successfully utilizing Kaidou’s current fame. The World Government had no other action at the time, but now the times have changed.

If Wano Kuni itself weakens, the World Government might take the opportunity to seize control here, fully grasping Seastone production in their hands.

This is also one of the tasks of that agent, to observe the state of Wano Kuni.

So Kurozumi Orochi boasted about his close ties with Kaidou, successfully raising his negotiating position by borrowing Kaidou’s strength, until now the news that the Hundred Beasts Pirates has made their headquarters in Wano Kuni reached the World Government.

Wano Kuni was too closed off before; even if they wanted to investigate, they only found the Hundred Beasts Pirates near the seas surrounding Wano Kuni, never expecting that Kaidou had already reached an agreement with Kurozumi Orochi.

If he were to leave now, maybe there would be other options, but he didn’t. Not only did he not leave, but he also wandered idly around Wano Kuni.

This just happened to catch Shaina’s attention, and he indeed was misled by Kurozumi Orochi, believing there was a close connection between the Hundred Beasts and them.

This is one of Orochi’s few abilities, patience and deceit. During times of endurance, he can lie down in the sewage to act as a stepping stone for others to step over him.

”World Government personnel?”

”Woman, this has nothing to do with you.” Those CP0 agents usually either follow the Heavenly Celestial Dragons around or execute orders on behalf of the World Government, thus having a kind of inexplicable superiority.

He thought he was here to discuss a deal with Kurozumi Orochi, and according to Orochi, he and Kaidou were allies. Therefore, as a World Government representative, he was on equal footing with Kaidou and Orochi.

Thus, he showed some disdain towards the officers under the Hundred Beasts Pirates, for in the eyes of the World Government, she was also Kaidou’s officer.

”Still the same face, you World Government lackeys never learn to lift your eyes to look at people.”

It was the same before, when those CP0 agents stormed into their secluded village and began slaughtering without a word. But now, the biggest change is that she was no longer that ordinary girl.

The term ”lackey” seemed to touch his taboo, but before he could say anything more, he was greeted by a fist blazing with flames.

”But it doesn’t matter anymore. Since you dare to show up here, you must have been prepared to face death.”

The fist was just the appetizer; at least seventy percent of Shaina’s strength lay in her two legs. This CP0 agent was slightly taller than her, but it didn’t matter.

Her left leg powered onto the ground, causing the bricks beneath to shatter extensively. At the same time, her wings behind her gave a flap, and her right knee drove directly toward his chin.

The CP0 agent was visibly stunned, never expecting Shaina to make a move so directly, and this resulted in her knee crashing into his chin.

Next, a fierce flame exploded from her wrists, engulfing her entire arm in flames in the blink of an eye, simultaneously smashing towards his head. This was a combo of a High Jump Kick and a Flaming Fist; being suddenly struck heavily on the chin, for a moment, he lapsed into a brief stupor.

Then a flame-entwined fist slammed into his cheek, sending him flying immediately, crashing directly into the place Orochi had crafted to imprison resistors. The fence made of long spears outside inflicted further secondary damage upon him.

The guards who were originally stationed there scattered away, completely unaware of what was occurring. They had just run off when a flame scorched over, the intense heat evaporating the moisture from the soil, drying out the land previously dampened by rain a few days ago.

However, he was, after all, CP0; he wouldn’t lose his combat ability with just a couple of strikes. But he also sensed something wrong; Shaina’s moves were aimed to take his life.

Seeing the deadly flames, he dodged them, and when he rose again, the mud on his clothes made him lose the previous arrogant appearance.

”Wait, I’ve come to an agreement with Kurozumi Orochi...”

”Your deal with Kurozumi Orochi, what’s it got to do with me?”

He originally thought there was some misunderstanding from the other party, but after he mentioned Kurozumi Orochi’s name, the attacks grew even fiercer. Barely avoiding a kick from her, he was about to counterattack when a kick from behind sent him flying.

”Shaina, what’s going on?”

”CP0, World Government agent, do you need any more reasons?”

”Indeed, no need.” Suddenly, a line of stone spikes emerged from the ground, while at the same time, a vortex of flames sealed off his escape.

It was King who showed up here. He originally intended to deliver something to the brothel nearby, then happened to discover the situation here. His tacit understanding with Shaina was beyond words; the Stone Edge and flame vortex formed a combo attack instantly.
