Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 195: Chapter 194: Are All Paradise Pirates This Naive?

Zeraora also thought he made sense, so he intended to leave while holding Yamato in one hand and Maria in the other, and then he said:

”Setsuna, you stay and get more involved. Jack, don’t move around. It’s time to go back.”

It’s not that he was discriminating; right now, Maria hasn’t grown tall yet, so he can still hold her, but Jack is different.

He’s too big, and while holding Yamato and Maria, the structure of his body doesn’t allow him to lift a third person, so he can only use a magnetic field to capture him and take him out.

”Uncle Zeraora, let me go! I need to have a proper talk with that guy!”

”There’s no need, Yamato. Lord Arceus said, don’t argue with fools. They’ll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience. Mandfeish will handle those matters. Let’s get ready to go to Sky Island, shall we?”

”Lucky~” Chansey, who was chatting with Yamato alongside them, eventually distracted her from the matter at hand.

As Zeraora took them away, the air inside the tavern became more serious.

...

”Trash? Who are you calling trash? I’m a great pirate with a 30-million bounty!”

”Alright, jokes are pointless the second time around. But before we start, let me ask, is there anyone who wants to leave? Those who stay here will be considered enemies.”

Saying this, he threw Harlot out, crashing into a pile of tables and chairs in the tavern.

Seeing that a real fight was about to break out, unrelated people began to leave, but most of the pirates remained. A 30-million bounty could still be considered a leader in today’s Demon Valley Town.

The pirates that stayed could be considered his followers. After Harlot was tossed out, this battle was almost unavoidable.

”Sorry, boss. You can use his 30-million bounty to repair the tavern later.”

Though the pirates remained here, this didn’t mean there were no other options. Passing merchant ships used methods to travel to other islands, and their supplies were also traded with those people.

As for why they didn’t rob those merchant ships to leave, anyone doing business in the Grand Line is no ordinary person. These Paradise pirates really don’t have what it takes.

”My lads! You saw it, this guy tried to make a dangerous move towards Miss Yamato.” At this point, Yamato hadn’t earned the title ”Ghost Princess” yet, and most people referred to her as Miss Yamato.

”Bang!”

Mandfeish didn’t even finish speaking before a gunshot sounded, serving as a signal for the battle.

”Shoot! Let this arrogant guy know what we’re made of!”

Under his shout, a series of gunshots rang out, with bullets flying towards Mandfeish from all directions, growing ever more intense.

The strong smell of gunpowder and the white smoke from the old-fashioned flintlock guns burned and blocked the view of many people.

”You bastard! I refuse to believe you can survive so many guns!”

The same string of laughter arose, but this time it was the Hundred Beasts pirates laughing.

”Are all Paradise pirates this naive?”

”I don’t know, I was born in the New World. Rodra, I remember you came from Paradise, weren’t you like this?”

”Don’t say silly things, I wasn’t as dumb as this guy.”

The last pirate questioned immediately denied it, completely unwilling to be associated with the person in front of him.

”You idiots! Your captain is dead, and you can still laugh?”

But they took it as a joke, knowing full well that a few flintlocks couldn’t harm Mandfeish. His scale armor had long been hardened.

In the next moment, Mandfeish’s voice came back.

”Sorry to disappoint you, but there’s no way those things could kill me. I’ve already picked out where to retire.”

Mandfeish dropped a bunch of bullets from his hand, and many were scattered on the ground. A layer of red scales grew on the exposed skin outside his clothes, blocking the bullets.

Then, in his human-beast form, Mandfeish issued the command to attack.

”Alright, fellas, show these cowardly Paradise pirates what New World pirates are all about!”

He had given these people a chance, but they didn’t seize it. With his statement, their grievances were set in stone.

As for calling them cowards, they looked down even on rookies who had just entered the New World, let alone these pirates holed up in Paradise.

”Don’t get cocky. You’re just a Devil Fruit user! I’m Jackal Harlot!”

Harlot shouted, his body also beginning to change. His originally burly legs gradually transformed into canine-like hind legs.

Compared to the Four Seas, Paradise is at least familiar with the existence of Devil Fruits. Seeing Mandfeish’s transformation wasn’t too shocking, as he also transformed into a wolf form.

However, Mandfeish couldn’t tell exactly which type of wolf it was.

”A Zoan? What a waste of a fruit for you.” Bringing the fruit back to the Hundred Beasts Pirates would have added another ”Mythical Zoan” user to their ranks.

In Mandfeish’s eyes, letting him eat this fruit was a travesty.

”Also, as I’ve said, the 30 million joke... the third time around, it’s not even funny!”

Mandfeish stomped on the tavern floor with tremendous force, popping the nails embedded in the floorboards. One end of the board tilted high into the air, while Mandfeish’s legs, covered in scale armor and Haki, whipped directly at Harlot’s neck.

The massive impact passed through Harlot, and the tavern wall smashed into a large hole. After crashing through several walls, Harlot was buried in the rubble.

Mandfeish then deactivated his abilities and began tidying up his clothes. For him, Paradise pirates were too weak. After all, he was an officer of the Hundred Beasts Pirates, and the scouts were combat members.

Using both his abilities and Haki without holding back, a single attack was more than enough for such an enemy.

The fight ended quickly, and those lingering in Demon Valley Town had practically forgotten how to battle, even having run out of bullets for their guns.

Their opponents were elite members of the Hundred Beasts Pirates, skilled in Haki, and in close combat, neither swords nor armor could withstand weapons imbued with Haki.

”These people are so weak...”

Watching the pirates be easily taken down, Setsuna showed a look of confusion. Born on Zou, she couldn’t understand why some people were so weak. Even the organ-trafficking assassination groups were much stronger.

”Just Paradise trash, it’s to be expected; check each other over, make sure your clothes are tidy before returning, and toss away anything bloodied. Letting Miss Yamato feel something’s wrong is on you.

Oh, and one more thing for you, boss, this guy’s head is yours as a gift. But let me remind you, Sky Island really does exist.”

The pirate’s bounty would be enough for him to set up a new tavern, but the Hundred Beasts people didn’t have time to redeem it, and since he didn’t refute Yamato earlier, whatever his intentions were, Mandfeish didn’t mind letting him profit from it.
