Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 170: Chapter 169: The Insider in Action

The powerful magnetic force and a body as strong as steel are the most basic abilities brought by Magnemite. Magnemite can also emit electromagnetic waves through the magnets on its body to defy gravity, which is the principle behind their ability to fly.

There are many directions for development, but how far one can go depends on Scotch himself. Currently, he can only use some basic abilities, such as the magnetic force that attracts bullets.

The bullet materials here are quite mixed, and pure copper bullets are rare.

At this moment, the current gathered on the magnet in his hand is his strongest attack.

The Electromagnetic Cannon, a powerful attack launched after gathering electricity, requires some charge-up time due to its immense power.

”This is the territory of the Hundred Beasts Pirates. Intruders, you will pay the price for this.”

Then the Electromagnetic Cannon was released, and the immense current pierced a big hole in the Pumpkin Ship. The powerful penetrative force went straight through the hull, triggering a secondary explosion in the ship’s ammunition depot, leaving it paralyzed on the sea surface.

The island’s coastal defense cannons are not just for show. They also train regularly, and the parameters of the surrounding sea have long been recorded, making it impossible to miss such a fixed target.

”Is it really this easy this time?”

Gable, who was commanding the coastal defense cannon, showed an incredulous expression. Pirates have come to provoke before, but some of them had enough skill to break through to the main island even after Kaidou left.

That’s why he organized the previous guard, to prevent stray pirates from intruding into their village.

Pirates that didn’t even mount a resistance and were directly destroyed by cannon fire on the sea were extremely rare.

”Can people like this also reach the New World?”

If there’s a hierarchy of disdain among pirates, then pirates from the New World look down on those from Paradise, those from Paradise look down on those from the Four Seas, the pirates from the Four Seas look down on Mountain Bandits, and Mountain Bandits disdain all pirates.

The residents born in the New World also hold similar views.

Actually, on this matter, Pangreen bears a lot of responsibility. Not all pirates prepare well before setting sail. Some people’s reasons for going to sea are inexplicably vague; they rely not on navigators for their journey but on their grandma back home.

The Pumpkin Pirates are pretty much like that. The only person on their ship who understands navigation and signaling is Pangreen, the undercover agent. He translated the signal of the Hundred Beasts into a provocation, as it was his task to do so.

This led to the current situation. Taking advantage of the explosion’s smoke, he quietly left using Moonwalk. His plan had been accomplished, and the remaining tasks no longer concerned him.

”Mission complete, Number Two, prepare to act.”

”Number Two, understood.”

This was an agent who had already infiltrated this Winter Island. They couldn’t check everyone’s identity, and this agent had sneaked onto Winter Island days earlier, blending in with other merchants.

As long as he didn’t engage in any sabotage, no one was likely to discover his identity.

Meanwhile, the battle between Teburoro and Scotch had commenced.

”You actually destroyed my beloved Pumpkin Ship!”

There was no need to say anything to fools who had just rushed out of Paradise. Scotch immediately launched a new attack.

”I’ve cut down plenty of those with abilities. Don’t think too highly of yourself just because you’re a mere iron shell! Pumpkin Slash!”

However, as he swung his blade, a huge gravitational pull came from the side. Influenced by the magnetic force, his blade couldn’t swing as he intended.

Then Teburoro’s mouth suddenly opened, spitting out a series of pumpkin seeds. Since they weren’t metal, Scotch’s magnetic force couldn’t affect them, and the seeds struck all over his body.

”Stop underestimating people. Don’t I even have the right to speak? Are you a mute, just because you have an ability, what’s there to be proud of!”

A closer look revealed that he was constantly blowing out seeds from his feet, using them as propulsion to fly in the air.

This was the ability he got from eating the Pumpkin-Pumpkin Fruit on his birth island, further fueling his obsession with pumpkins.

”Rookies from Paradise are getting dumber. Brother Queen gave me a new body; the Saint Beast bestowed upon me great power. You simply don’t understand what divine power is!”

A huge magnet hit his body, and in the middle of the magnet, a brand new Electromagnetic Cannon had already been fully charged.

...

In Paradise, they were called Super Rookies, elites among pirates. Neither the Navy nor pirates nor the weather in the first half could stop them, but in the New World, such pirates were as common as dirt. The destruction of the Pumpkin Pirates didn’t even attract the attention of the island’s inhabitants.

But this time it was a bit different. Among the grain merchants staying on the island, a young-looking porter seemed especially interested.

”So strong, is this what the New World’s pirates are like?” Saying this, he suddenly ran towards where the returning Scotch was, and nobody around him stopped him.

”Who recruited this kid?!”

The caravan leader watched him dash towards the pirates with trepidation. They’ve always done business with pirates based on the principle of less talk, less look, less listen, and more do.

He had seen too many face-changing pirates and generally refrained from having too much contact with them.

An individual getting themselves killed was one thing, but he was worried about unintentional trouble impacting the whole caravan.

”Sir, sir, if I join you, can I also become this strong?”

As an agent, acting skills are essential. He was now trying to portray a young man entranced by pirate power.

Most pirates wouldn’t reject someone like him, as they also need to replenish their fresh blood. A pirate crew turning into a retirement club would be eliminated by the world.

”As long as you achieve merit, you too can receive blessings. Even if half your body is destroyed, Brother Queen can fix you.” Saying this, he patted his iron shell.

If it weren’t for Queen’s body modifications, he would have been almost useless back then, which is why among the small officers of the Hundred Beasts, Scotch respected Queen the most.

However, due to a high percentage of his modifications, his sentences often lacked emotion, and the punctuation was quite odd. This produced an ambiguity, making it seem as if his Magnemite abilities were also related to Queen.

After expressing some feigned admiration, the agent was pulled away by another undercover.

”Sorry, sorry, this kid’s ignorant, sorry to disturb you.” Their mission was to gather intelligence, not infiltrate the pirates, so after getting the information they wanted, they left the area.

Later, after integrating information from others, a new document was sent to the Navy’s Science Class.

Although this Science Class was headed by Vegapunk, he wasn’t interested in such reports. When the second-in-command of the Science Class saw the report, they displayed an incredulous expression.
