Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 184: Chapter 183: Don’t Try to Understand a Fool

The Fur Race is known as the tribe of battle, closely linked to the Moon Lions. Even the young of the Fur Race are not weaker than adult soldiers. When the Fur Race masters the power of the Moon Lion, they become true monsters on a full moon night.

Indistinguishable movement trajectories, unstoppable force, the beach was a scene of a brutal and one-sided beating.

The so-called Moon Lion is basically a Frenzy Skill. Although it can be controlled through training, the Fur Race in the Moon Lion state becomes more violent than usual. Not to mention that Setsuna already harbors a grudge against Nekomamushi.

The strength of Inuarashi is on par with Nekomamushi. Inuarashi was struck into the sea by Setsuna, and Nekomamushi wasn’t much stronger. After a round of beating, the sword crafted for him by the artisan of Kuri shattered into several pieces under Setsuna’s claws.

Then a knee strike ended the battle.

”Nekomamushi, you’ve lost. Apologize honestly, and never come to our territory to stir up trouble again. Do you hear me?”

Despite the words, Nekomamushi, lying on the ground, did not surrender.

”Meow... I haven’t lost yet.”

”Nekomamushi! Stop being stubborn, we’ve already completely lost.” Inuarashi walked out from the sea, leaning on his sword. The previous strike had broken two of his ribs. As a member of the Fur Race, he understood the power of the Moon Lion more than outsiders.

Without an absolute difference in strength, an untransformed member of the Fur Race cannot defeat a transformed one.

”No, I haven’t lost. I am also of the Fur Race... For Lord Oden, I must win this time!” He said, turning his head to look at the moon in the sky.

”Stop! You can’t control that!”

But it was too late. Nekomamushi, fixated on the moon, began to turn white, undergoing a transformation similar to Setsuna. The biggest difference was that his eyes lacked reason, filled only with madness.

If a member of the Fur Race enters this state without mastering the power of the Moon Lion, they will indiscriminately attack everyone around them until their power is completely exhausted.

”Who the heck is this Oden you keep mentioning? Have you been brainwashed by him?” Setsuna couldn’t understand why Nekomamushi would rather risk his life than admit defeat.

After all, they were of the same race. Even admitting defeat wouldn’t make Setsuna treat him badly, but still, he insisted on acting like it was a last stand.

She indeed wanted to teach Nekomamushi a lesson, but she didn’t intend to kill him. Capturing alive is much more difficult than killing, but in his berserk state, Nekomamushi lacked reason, and didn’t even respond to pain.

In a battle between two Moon Lions, Inuarashi could not intervene, and Setsuna was also somewhat restrained by Nekomamushi.

She couldn’t even take to the air to avoid him; otherwise, the uncontrolled Nekomamushi might target Inuarashi, and in that state, it wouldn’t be surprising if Nekomamushi killed Inuarashi.

While she was in a bind, a faster flash of lightning emerged from the forest; Zeraora, who had been watching, entered the fray.

A small hand pressed onto Nekomamushi’s head. Although the size was disproportionate, the strength was quite the opposite. The raging Nekomamushi was directly pressed into the sand.

”Zeraora?! Why are you here?”

”I followed you. Did you really think you could hide your little tricks from me? You still lack real combat experience.”

The lack of practical application made it hard for her to cope with changing situations, especially since with her nostalgia, she couldn’t bring herself to strike lethally.

”Where’s your Sword Dance? Ascend and stack Sword Dance, then knock this lunatic out. You should be able to do it. I should have taught you how. If I hadn’t come with you, how did you plan to resolve this?”

In the field of Electromagnetic Floating, Zeraora is an expert, so he knew many air combat techniques. It just seemed like Setsuna had forgotten them just now.

Speaking of other things, Setsuna felt a bit embarrassed, but when it came to practical combat... she felt a bit defiant.

”It’s not that I don’t want real combat; it’s that you didn’t let me. You always say I’m too small, too small...” There were chances for real combat, but all of them were pushed aside by Zeraora.

”Fine, next time I’ll take you with me if there’s a chance.” At this moment, Nekomamushi, pressed under his hand, started acting up again, with currents beginning to flicker on his fur as if trying to push Zeraora away.

But that bit of current was nothing more than a pre-dinner snack to Zeraora. A stronger current was released from his hand, and after that, Nekomamushi finally quieted down.

This is the simplest way to deal with a berserk member of the Fur Race: knock him out and keep him unconscious until the moon disappears. After all, Zeraora doesn’t know any healing songs or skills like Rain Dance to block the moon. Knocking him out is the simplest and most effective method.

Setsuna lifted her Moon Lion form, knowing that with Zeraora here, there wouldn’t be any more troubling matters. Over the years, this was the trust she had developed in Zeraora.

”He’s... not dead, is he?”

”No, I was careful. But are these your two acquaintances? They’re not much. Hey, take this eyesore away!”

This was directed at Inuarashi. If it were a life and death enemy, using uncontrollable power, Zeraora might admire him a bit.

But using uncontrollable skills in this situation made Zeraora see him as a reckless fool.

”Lightning... Zeraora...”

He recognized who it was. When Zeraora was wanted earlier, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi were still sailing with Oden, so they naturally received the news. Zeraora was currently the most wanted in the Fur Race at sea.

However, he hadn’t paid much attention to the details on the Wanted Poster then and only thought it was a Fur Race member who had drifted overseas early. Now he realized the person was associated with the Hundred Beasts and seemed to know Setsuna well.

Subduing Nekomamushi in his Moon Lion state with a normal stance already demonstrated Zeraora’s power.

Though his words weren’t pleasant, Inuarashi knew that this time Nekomamushi had crossed the line by forcibly using the Moon Lion. Setsuna hadn’t said anything, but Inuarashi understood that after this incident with Nekomamushi, the three of them couldn’t go back to how they were seven years ago.

”By the way, the matter last time is forgiven. If you come to the farm again, you’ll be facing me. Keep an eye on that cat. If he dies, don’t blame me.”

Inuarashi’s standing meant little to Zeraora, but he had to consider Setsuna’s feelings, so he couldn’t just kill her former comrades outright.

With that, the battle on the beach came to an end, but Setsuna still had a question.

”Zeraora, why do you think that bastard Nekomamushi did this?”

”I don’t know, but his behavior shows he’s an impulsive fool. You can’t understand a fool’s thoughts, so forget about it. When we get back, I’ll grill some fish for you.”

”No, Zeraora, you always burn the fish. Let me do it.”

Looking at Zeraora before her, Setsuna chose to put those unpleasant thoughts aside. She probably wouldn’t have anything to do with Nekomamushi in the future.....
