Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 179: Chapter 178: The Unbearable Pain of Life

That was when they had just drifted to Wano Kuni, and the residents of Wano Kuni saw them as monsters, wanting to burn them alive with a fire. Now, those people’s eyes were very similar to before.

Last time, Kozuki Oden saved them, but now things are different. Although they had the ability to fight back, they couldn’t attack those residents. However, Nekomamushi discovered an opportunity.

As the residents arrived, Miltank’s dense Rollout showed some slack, and the previously untouchable leader was now closer to them.

Electric sparks flashed across his body; he stimulated his muscles with Static to seek a quicker burst.

According to herd mentality, as long as the leader can be knocked down, it will instill fear among these members, and then they can leave.

”Nekomamushi! Come back!”

Watching Nekomamushi suddenly rush out, cold sweat dripped from Inuarashi’s forehead. Although he was a dog-mink, there were differences from regular dogs, such as his skin could sweat, and he didn’t have to rely solely on his tongue to cool down.

Those suddenly stopped Miltank seemed like a glaring trap in his view, and Nekomamushi just plunged right into it.

Although they were cornered by Miltank, there was a reason for active retreat. In a situation where there was no path behind, Nekomamushi and Inuarashi only needed to guard a quarter of the area each.

But now Nekomamushi rushed out, exposing his whole body to Miltank’s attack range.

They only performed a slowdown but did not stop completely. They formed a pincer attack, and now that Nekomamushi voluntarily charged in, they tightened the trap.

”Moo, moo, moo!”

Under the leader’s command, only a few Miltank stayed to restrain Inuarashi, while the rest focused their assault on Nekomamushi. In a one-on-one, Nekomamushi wouldn’t fear these Miltank, and he might handle even one against many.

But he neither brought weapons nor did he expect to get directly hit by the Miltank leader initially. Now, facing the Miltank’s siege, he couldn’t withstand it.

Without Inuarashi assisting, he quickly had his defenses broken when attacked from all sides. A Miltank, catching him off guard, used a small pit on the ground to adjust its angle, then struck Nekomamushi’s hip from below.

The Fur Race is a type of demi-human. Although Miltank’s Rollout seemed smooth, they did have horns and hooves.

Being hit in the groin by an irregular, fast-spinning ball, that pain is indescribable. Nekomamushi let out a piercing scream, and this was the sound Setsuna heard.

Nekomamushi’s display made the surrounding villagers unconsciously cover their groins, stepping back a few paces. People from the Beast Pirates had told them not to anger Miltank, or it could be dangerous.

During this period, Miltank’s gentle nature almost made them forget these words. Today, they fully realized the terror of Miltank.

”Nekomamushi!”

Watching Nekomamushi lying prone on the ground, Inuarashi was somewhat anxious and narrowly avoided the same fate. This time, Kozuki Oden couldn’t save them. However, shortly after Nekomamushi’s scream, Setsuna arrived.

”Wait, you all stop first!”

Peach Blossom Spring Farm’s nominal management currently rested with Zeraora, and Setsuna also held certain rights, so Miltank would listen to her orders.

”Why are you two here?”

Seeing Nekomamushi lying on the ground and the panting Inuarashi, Setsuna did not quite understand what happened.

”Moo, moo.” Before Inuarashi could answer, Miltank indicated their thoughts through sounds and gestures, which those familiar with Pokemon could generally understand.

”You two came to steal?!” Hearing the Miltank leader say this, Setsuna revealed an incredible expression.

Zou’s national backdrop led to a primitive societal tendency. With few people, stealing would be scorned by the entire tribe.

She then looked at the surrounding villagers and told them, ”It’s all right now, everyone, just a small matter. Please go back to sleep.”

She still cherished the ties with her kin and didn’t want the scene to be shameful in front of so many people, so she let them leave first to handle things properly.

Under Setsuna’s persuasion, the villagers packed up and left since the people from the Beast Pirates arrived, and they didn’t need to linger.

In the end, only a few pirates remained. If the previous intern was Olga, now Olga had begun transitioning to a role of more responsibility, and Setsuna had become the new reserve leader.

Having consistently followed Zeraora, she could also order these pirates.

”You all can leave too. I’ll handle things here.”

”Miss Setsuna, you alone..”

”Don’t worry, I know them, and besides, Miltank is here.” Insisting, the pirates also departed.

...

”Alright, can either of you explain why you’re here stealing?”

Though she said so, Setsuna’s gaze was already on Inuarashi, not expecting a proper answer from the already-downed Nekomamushi.

It wasn’t because he was beaten down, but she didn’t trust anything good would come from Nekomamushi’s mouth.

”Well... how to say...” Inuarashi looked a bit embarrassed. They could deceive themselves with the excuse of serving their lord’s wife, but couldn’t cover up the fact that their actions were theft.

”Forget it. By the way, do you still have the Life Card back to Zou? I accidentally lost mine.”

Setsuna remembered the important matter this time, first obtaining the Life Card from Inuarashi. Inuarashi hadn’t lost his Life Card and carried it with him, and hearing Setsuna, he directly tore off half for her.

She then handed them some vegetables and fruits.

”If you really have nothing to eat, come find me. I have the right to manage this much.” Children of the Beast Pirates had their own pocket money, and having nowhere to spend it usually, this could be considered her personal sponsorship.

”Don’t come stealing next time. I’ll let it go this time, but there will be punishment if it happens again.”

By rights, they should be punished for such actions, but Setsuna, remembering the kinship sentiment, wanted them to leave directly, so she let others leave early.

But not everyone wanted to accept her kindness, like Nekomamushi, who wasn’t convinced even now.

”Meow... this farm was ours in the first place, just taken by you. How can this be called stealing?”

”Nekomamushi!”

At these words, Inuarashi knew trouble loomed, and the currents shimmering on Setsuna indicated such.

”Nekomamushi, I’ve been putting up with you for a long time today, don’t push me!”
