Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 152: Chapter 151: Zephyr Is Right

”Admiral Sengoku, are you alright?”

”What do you think?” The Great Buddha Fruit also granted him strong recovery abilities. Although the Golden Body of the Great Buddha allowed him to withstand Arceus’s Judgment, he is still not in great condition right now.

”They’ve already left.”

”I know. Those fools in the intelligence department, I’m going to complain to Marshal Kong about them when I get back!” He’s not afraid of lacking intelligence; he’s just afraid the intelligence department can’t distinguish between true and false information yet still submits it.

Holding such completely incorrect intelligence is just a tool to trip people up. Although Borsalino quickly caught him, Sengoku doesn’t want to praise him in this regard because compared to the scars left on Sengoku, Borsalino hardly lost a hair.

However, due to the massive lightning explosion at the last moment by Zeraora, his hairstyle was affected to some extent. In his youth, Borsalino didn’t change his hair to the simple short crop it is now and almost got a completely new style from the singe.

”What were you just doing?”

”Admiral Sengoku, I tried my best to fight the enemy, but this member of the Fur Race is different. He seems to be an ability user, with lightning-like speed and a high Haki level; neither of us could handle each other.”

Logia-types are hard to hit in battle. Although Armament Haki can touch their real bodies, Logia-type users can use Observation Haki to predict and disassemble their bodies before being attacked, making them untouchable.

Zeraora’s Observation Haki was somewhat lacking, so it was challenging to effectively harm Borsalino, and he didn’t have many ways to deal with Zeraora.

Borsalino’s attacks inherently carry a certain pause; that’s because, although his body transforms into light, his reaction thinking is still human. Even though he’s a monster among humans, it still takes a bit of time to react.

This time is very brief, and combined with the Glint-Glint Fruit, it’s almost unnoticeable, but that momentary pause is enough for Zeraora to react. Although Zeraora’s Observation Haki doesn’t match Borsalino’s, his combat nerve is naturally stronger than Borsalino’s.

”Zephyr was right; you focus too much on fruit abilities and thus ignored the training of body techniques.” In Sengoku’s generation, Garp and Zephyr were not ability users, and he himself was a Zoan-type ability user, always valuing body techniques.

Since the day Borsalino joined the training camp, he has been a Logia-type user, specifically the fastest Glint-Glint Fruit, so he has always neglected this aspect. It’s not that his body techniques are very weak, just that compared to those strong in body techniques, there is a noticeable gap.

”Sengoku-san, you should focus on healing first.”

Borsalino wasn’t very eager to discuss this topic. Among the many students taught by Zephyr, his relationship with Zephyr was probably the most indifferent.

Therefore, upon hearing Sengoku’s old talk, he directly took him back on board. Floating in mid-air like that was quite inappropriate.

Although he had withdrawn from the Buddha form, Sengoku still maintained his Golden Body, looking just like an Oscar statuette.

This is the ability of his fruit; the cracks in the Golden Body can be slowly repaired through fruit ability. However, directly deactivating the ability and letting the injury feedback to the body would make healing much harder.

Most of the Draco Meteors were blocked by Sengoku; only when he went out to fight did some remaining meteors hit the ship, causing minor casualties to the Navy but overall within acceptable limits.

Meanwhile, in the cabin of Sengoku’s battleship, someone was checking their film roll. Accurately capturing the target’s face was his task, and it seemed to have been completed well.

However, he had a significant compulsive tendency in photography, carefully sorting through, finally finding pictures of Arceus standing on top of the plant Buddha’s head and Zeraora surrounded by electric light.

...

According to Arceus’s command, the Origin had already left in advance, while he first helped recharge Zeraora. After all, Zeraora is one of the very few Electric-type Pokemon that doesn’t have generating organs.

Nonetheless, his endurance is high. Although this battle consumed a lot of electricity, it also related to his initially low electric reserve; under normal circumstances, his endurance remains strong.

However, this combat indeed exposed a shortcoming: Zeraora’s height is ultimately not suitable for this world filled with giants; it seems that a slight adjustment in his height development ability is needed.

It’s not much, but if he does end up having anything with Setsuna, considering Setsuna’s development, it would turn into a bizarre development of driving a big vehicle.

Upon their return, the Origin began heading toward Wano Kuni, also patrolling the peripheral territory of Hundred Beasts along the way.

Sengoku’s ship, however, returned to Navy Headquarters in advance; once Garp starts pursuing Roger, waiting for him to come back is very unwise.

And when Sengoku returned to Navy Headquarters, the first thing he did was to complain to Kong about the intelligence department’s negligence.

”You’re saying that it wasn’t some pet of the Hundred Beasts Pirates, but a powerful Zoan-type ability user?”

”Yes, he’s strong. I don’t know how much strength he exerted, but he’s enough of a threat to an Admiral.”

”Compared to Roger and Whitebeard, how does he fare?”

”I don’t know. It’s hard to judge this matter.”

”I understand what you’re saying, but this isn’t intelligence collected by our Navy; it was captured by some agents from the World Government who just happened to pass by. They didn’t think much of it at the time.

I’ll complain to the World Government, but I don’t expect much result. As for the identity of that ability user, I’ll send someone to investigate later, but you should take a look at this first.”

Kong handed Sengoku the new intelligence, which contained detailed information about the Battle of Edvaul.

”Did the Golden Lion suffer such heavy losses?”

”Yes, more than half of the ships were destroyed in that sea area, and many of his officers and allied captains were lost as well. Those pirates in the New World are going to get restless again.”

Pirates are mostly eager for more fame and fortune, standing on the corpses of their predecessors is the fastest way to rise, so every year, countless newcomers recklessly challenge the seasoned pirates of the New World.

The Flying Sky Pirates, recently suffering major losses, are seen as ripe fruit by many, but the Great Pirates are taking no rash actions.

They know very well that despite those under his command, the Golden Lion himself is the most crucial part of the Flying Sky Pirates. As long as the Golden Lion is around, the foundation of the Flying Sky Pirates won’t diminish.

”Is this going to be published in the newspaper?”

”Of course. Those pirates seeing this news will probably cause a new wave of internal strife. Letting them consume themselves is something the higher-ups are happy to see. You should focus on recovering, even if you are an ability user. I’ll ensure the intelligence department does its job properly.”
