Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 189: Chapter 188: Even If It’s Just a Pig, It Has to Pay Its Debts

As an Ancient of the Human-Human Fruit, the illustrated guide does not record its related abilities. Rather than giving it to a human, letting an animal eat it can better utilize its advantages.

Chopper, who ate the Human-Human Fruit in the form of a commoner, has already proven this point. The combat power of the Thousand-Year Dragon is much stronger compared to an ordinary reindeer.

Although the Thousand-Year Dragon has a transformed form similar to the Primeval Bird, Arceus’s modifications are not Devil Fruits. While the modification form is unique due to body limitations, creatures that are directly modified can still consume Devil Fruits.

People who gain abilities through the modification fruit cannot consume a second fruit.

However, even those who gain abilities without having eaten a fruit mostly have no intention of consuming another one, fearing the deadly debuff of seawater and seastone. At least for ordinary abilities, they would not be so tempted.

It has been proven that this Primitive Fruit is already very close to the modern human species. Although stronger and more robust, its intelligence level has also been improved.

After consuming the Primitive Fruit, speaking is no longer difficult for it. This also enables better communication for the Air Cavalry of the Hundred Beasts.

It can understand the meaning in the roar of the large wild boar, which helped clarify the reason for its frenzy and relay it to Olga.

”Why did it come to this place looking for the child...”

After understanding the reason, stopping it became simpler. Despite its large size, it is still just a wild boar and cannot match the intelligence of humans.

Zoroark’s illusions cannot be seen through by people with poor Observation Haki, let alone a wild boar. Earlier, it hadn’t realized the city wall was fake.

But the madness after losing its child drove it to charge straight at the wall. Olga hates such reckless lunatics the most, after all, her illusions are ultimately fake.

Encountering such brute force upon simple-minded ones easily breaks the illusion, but knowing the root of the problem makes it manageable.

”You all keep it busy for a while! I’ll be right back!”

With that, she directed her Thousand-Year Dragon to fly away from those trying to escape, and from them, she learned the appearance of the Mountain God’s child, then used illusions to create a fake little wild boar.

This time, the Mountain God was temporarily fooled, but this is not a long-term solution. She can’t maintain the illusion forever.

...

”Where did that little pig run off to?”

The pig known as the Mountain God seems to have significant symbolic meaning in Wano Kuni. So much so that last time when Kozuki Oden cut it in half to save people, he had to stitch it back together.

Therefore, they are thinking about how to send the pig back. Based on past experiences, just finding that little pig will suffice.

”It seems that it’s saying to your illusion... stop chasing after strange things, if it gets kidnapped, it’ll be a problem....”

”Go call the roll for those Whimsicott, and see which one is missing.”

The importance of knowing a foreign language was fully demonstrated at this moment, because the Thousand-Year Dragon could understand this pig, everything became easier.

Occasionally, a few Whimsicott would run out from the pasture’s range, if it doesn’t rain, they would come back on their own when the wind stops.

During their disappearance, they often engage in mischievous acts, like randomly tossing hair in people’s homes, leaving cotton all over the place.

However, this did not provoke the people’s displeasure, as cotton is a good thing, and the cotton discarded by a Whimsicott is enough to make a small hat, which they call the gift of the Cotton God.

Based on the nature of those Whimsicott, if one had indeed drifted into the deep mountains and found the little pig amusing, it’s likely it led it away.

Because of the drifting nature of Whimsicott and Jumpluff, coupled with their mischievous nature, roll calls every night are necessary to ensure all have returned.

Thus, all Whimsicott are numbered, and by calling the roll, it’s easy to tell if one is missing.

As for finding the missing Whimsicott, other Whimsicott can detect the unique scent of their companions, so it’s just a matter of bringing them along to search.

The ones who took the Whimsicott away quickly found the missing ones during the roll call, and there were more than one.

”Big Sis, Numbers 18, 29, and 31 are missing.”

”Then go find them, do you see me having a free hand?”

The subordinate glanced at the bucket of roasted cotton seeds Olga was holding, paused, and refrained from mentioning she seemed idle, secretly envying the life of the officers.

Within the Hundred Beasts pirate crew, competition is fierce. If one wants the same status as another, issuing a challenge is the best option.

Olga, after several years of training, was no longer the untouchable reserve, though those who tried to challenge her had terrible experiences due to her illusions.

Challenging other officers might get you beaten, but challenging Olga might mean beating yourself up. Not only does it hurt, but it’s also humiliating.

Olga also was truly not free. She had to constantly maintain her illusion ability within that area, but beyond that, nothing else mattered.

Creating an illusion to deceive the giant boar is now effortless for him.

In the end, they found a white wild boar in a nearby barn. Compared to its massive parent, its size was quite petite.

But here comes the problem, this barn is for storing Eldegoss seeds, and now those seeds have been eaten by the three Whimsicott and the little pig.

Judging from their swollen bellies, the wild boar might have been the main culprit.

”Does this thing eat so much... these goods were supposed to be dispatched in a few days.” Olga had mixed feelings looking at the empty barn.

”Big Sis, it hasn’t been long since it ate, how about we...” He drew his knife from his waist, gesturing at the wild boar, thinking it might still be time to slaughter it for the seeds.

”Forget it, since they’ve been eaten by the pig, others wouldn’t want them anymore anyway. Let others decide how to handle this pig.”

Originally, this matter was simple: find the little piglet and send it back; after all, this mess was caused by a few runaway Whimsicott.

Given the uncontrollable nature of the wind, things like this do happen occasionally, but the fact the little piglet ate up the goods is a different matter. Although Eldegoss will produce new seeds in a couple of days, there will definitely be a delay now.

Moreover, because of the wild boar’s tough hide, robust vitality, and symbolic significance, she suspects someone might take an interest in him.

Now within the Hundred Beasts pirate crew, there are more and more strange animals, but none as large as this.
