The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

A few people’s eyes were fixed on Fu Yu’s operations.

However... aside from the beginning, where they could see Fu Yu’s specific actions clearly, later on, all they saw was an illusion before their eyes.

Fu Yu’s hand speed was incredibly fast, it wasn’t like he was picking up loaches, but rather like he was grabbing French fries, and even those machine-customized ones, with smooth actions and astonishing speed.

Although Liu Shaoxian prides himself as a tonic cuisine expert, in terms of cooking, he is somewhat inferior to professional chefs who specialize in culinary skills.

At this moment, watching Fu Yu’s operations, Liu Shaoxian couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed.

Such hand speed, how much effort must he put into practicing this regularly!

Hardworking and diligent people are always admired.

Liu Shaoxian’s impression of Fu Yu improved significantly.

However, before he could finish marveling, the next scene left him completely dumbfounded.

Fu Yu continuously picked up the loaches, one after another, taking exactly twenty.

Then, he adjusted the chopsticks between his fingers and extended them, straightening the loaches one by one, using his eyes as a ruler, roughly measuring their length.

Fu Yu began picking and choosing, placing loaches he was not satisfied with back into the basin, leaving only those with consistent length and beautiful form.

By ”beautiful,” it refers to the fatness and the body patterns.

Fu Yu paid diligent attention to every detail of selecting the ingredients.

At that moment, as an experienced tonic cuisine expert, Liu Shaoxian suddenly understood why a mere meal of tonic dishes could be sold at such a high price.

Because of the attitude!

Because of the details!

Because of the understanding and importance placed on the tonic cuisine itself!

Fu Yu seems to treat the cooking of tonic cuisine as a delicate experiment, continuously adjusting and striving to eliminate operational flaws, treating tonic dishes as art needing meticulous crafting, rather than just a mere meal of tonic dishes!

What Fu Yu aims to achieve is not just a mere dish!

But a perfect piece of artwork in his mind.

However, Liu Shaoxian was not a professional chef, so he couldn’t see some parts clearly.

In contrast, Liu Yunong suddenly discovered that Fu Yu actually has a very unique talent in the use of ingredients, control of operational force, and aesthetics.

His meticulous attention to details was all about pursuing excellence in the dishes, and all actions and operations were perfectly appropriate.

Even in choosing tonic combinations, he paid much attention to the texture and creativity of the ingredients.

Any dish randomly taken out could give people an unexpected stunning feeling.

No wonder his tonic dishes are so popular.

They can make customers willing to pay voluntarily.

Because ordinary people simply can’t achieve this level.

What others can’t achieve naturally becomes more precious.

Yao Shi had also carefully watched Fu Yu cook tonic cuisine before, but at that time, he only felt that Fu Yu was really knowledgeable in tonic cuisine and had his own ideas in customizing them.

However, after observing Fu Yu’s cooking up close today, Yao Shi suddenly felt that Fu Yu’s cooking of tonic cuisine seemed to open up another direction and sales route.

That is the coordination between medicinal effects and taste!

A completely new cooking approach, different from ordinary tonic cuisine styles.

Perhaps...

After selecting the loaches, Fu Yu directly placed the storage box into the refrigerator, freezing the loaches.

This step left Liu Shaoxian and Xiao Jiping dumbfounded.

Turns out... is this the way to make this dish?

Loaches are not cooked alive in the pot with tofu, but frozen first?

Liu Yunong was quite unfamiliar with this dish. On one hand, although there are loach dishes in Liu Family Cuisine, the ingredient is too niche—those who like them really love them, and those who don’t really despise them—so it was already removed from the menu.

She had never learned about the dish ”Loach Drilling into Tofu” before.

Today was the first time she saw it, so she wasn’t very familiar with the specific cooking method.

Fu Yu figured out this method after repeated failures.

He discovered that placing live loaches directly in the refrigerator to freeze keeps their active form even after death, allowing them to be inserted into the tofu at the end.

Moreover, the dish features an aspect where the cooking method is actually very simple, yet it leaves a great space for imagination when done this way.

He himself failed countless times during the initial cooking, so he felt a great sense of marvel after succeeding.

This dish, he thought, deserved to be called a famous dish, truly distinctive.

In fact, many excellent delicacies are simple in terms of ingredients and cooking methods, but many chefs use unique methods to make them more fitting to the name of the dish, leaving a deep impression on many people.

Taking advantage of the loaches being frozen, while two tonic dishes were still stewing, Fu Yu began making the Beneficial Spleen Cake.

The jujube paste was a ready-made ingredient brought over from the baking section.

Fu Yu weighed out Atractylodes macrocephala powder, dried ginger powder, and chicken gizzard membrane powder.

The chicken gizzard membrane from the pharmacy is handled very well, cleaned fresh, dried, and ground into powder, very pure in texture.

Put the jujube paste into a large basin used for making dough, then pour in the measured Atractylodes macrocephala powder, dried ginger powder, and chicken gizzard membrane powder, mixing it evenly.

Add flour, and begin kneading the dough.
