The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Liu Yunong nodded and said seriously, ”The national chef competition seems to require intensive training, right? I notice that Fu Yu currently doesn’t possess many cooking skills, so he still needs to follow a focused learning session for a while.”

Yao Shi wholeheartedly agreed, ”Indeed, Xiaofu may be quite talented in cooking, but after all, he’s been in the industry for too short a time, and hasn’t had the opportunity to encounter many cooking operations. The skills tested in the chef competition are quite varied, so gaining more experience won’t hurt.”

Seeing an opportunity, Zhao Meng hurriedly praised Fu Yu, ”Yes, that’s right. Although Fu Yu lacks a bit of experience, his foundational knowledge is very solid. I believe, with proper intensive training, he will definitely manage without any issues!”

Liu Yunong smiled, ”That’s true. By the way, I remember there seemed to be some specific requirements during registration, right?”

Unlike Liu Yunong’s rather nonchalant attitude toward the competition, Zhao Meng was very knowledgeable about the national chef competition.

”There are! Participants must be members of the relevant association, and also need a recommendation from the relevant unit. The requirements for the unit are fairly high, and Qianlima doesn’t meet the standard conditions.”

Liu Yunong was surprised, ”As for the unit recommendation, that’s easy. I can register him directly from the main store. But, it still requires membership in the relevant association? It’s already the end of the year, isn’t it too late to arrange registration?”

Hearing this, Zhao Meng quickly said, ”Fu Yu has already joined the Provincial Gourmet Association. All the paperwork was completed last month.”

Liu Yunong was delighted, ”That’s great, okay, I’ll let Fu Yu know about this. If he doesn’t have any objections, I’ll just proceed with registering him.”

Zhao Meng breathed a genuine sigh of relief. As long as he could register, that was enough.

Liu Yunong personally saw Yao Shi and Zhao Meng off to their car and watched them drive away before turning back into the restaurant.

Yao Shi fastened his seatbelt, turned to Zhao Meng, and said, ”This time we have to give it a good try. Xiaofu... might actually restore our reputation for you.”

Upon hearing this, Zhao Meng couldn’t help but sigh.

The national chef competition is held annually. Yao Shi had previously enrolled through connections and participated twice, winning accolades each time.

Zhao Meng later wanted to try but failed repeatedly.

He skipped registration last year because the rules changed, and a restaurant like Qianlima couldn’t qualify to participate.

Thinking of this, Zhao Meng smiled awkwardly, ”I also think Fu Yu is up to the task!”

There was another thing Zhao Meng didn’t mention. If it weren’t for Fu Yu today, he probably would have made a fool of himself!

He had no idea where Liu Yunong found this Peony Fish Fillet recipe, but it was too difficult to execute.

If it were him, he definitely couldn’t have completed it so smoothly.

While they were discussing, Liu Yunong had already turned back to the kitchen.

Watching Fu Yu as he focused on cooking, Liu Yunong felt a profound admiration.

Truly impressive.

Really amazing!

With Fu Yu’s solid cooking foundation now, if he continues to be properly nurtured, his future accomplishments will likely surpass my own.

With these thoughts in mind, Liu Yunong looked at Fu Yu with eyes full of anticipation.

Fu Yu was assisting Wang Yulong.

Wang Yulong was also interested in the Peony Fish Fillet cooked earlier and was asking Fu Yu about the specific operations while cooking.

As Fu Yu was explaining truthfully, he suddenly heard an electronic notification sound:

[Ding! NPC Chef Zhao Meng’s task, successfully resolving a predicament for Zhao Meng. Task completion reward: Zhao Meng’s affection +5]

Fu Yu was quite pleased. Normally, gaining affection points didn’t feel particularly exciting.

After all, compared to random rewards or skill prizes like the lucky wheel, affection points, while important, could be accumulated later without much concern.

However, these five affection points now come from Zhao Meng.

This made Fu Yu somewhat smug.

He knew Zhao Meng considered him like a son; otherwise, how could he treat him so well?

And he was sure he’d also treat Zhao Meng exceptionally well in the future, not necessarily as a father but definitely as a mentor.

At this moment, Liu Yunong came over.

”Xiaofu, nicely done! Truly amazing!” Liu Yunong sincerely praised.

Wang Yulong also turned and looked at Fu Yu.

He had heard of this Peony Fish Fillet dish before.

After Liu Yunong had previously failed to try it, he even specially consulted with the master chef at the main store about the cooking procedure for this dish.

At that time, they didn’t discuss any clear cooking methods.

Unexpectedly, Fu Yu managed to cook it successfully today.

Even Liu Yunong wasn’t the only one impressed; Wang Yulong felt a lot of emotions upon seeing this beautifully plated Peony Fish Fillet.

A young and promising chef, having such capability, is truly remarkable.

And the fact that the owner was able to bring such talent into the restaurant is a blessing for them.

As they say, the Yangtze River’s waves push forward, with each generation surpassing the previous!

For a traditional restaurant like Shangshi Private Kitchen, they hope for exactly this.

This is the baton for the Liu Family Cuisine to carry forward!

Of course, even within Shangshi Private Kitchen, there is competition among the kitchen staff, but more often than not, these competitions are amongst peers or within the same generation.

As veteran chefs, they are genuinely happy to see the younger generation stand out and excel. If there’s an opportunity to promote them, they wouldn’t hesitate to offer guidance occasionally.
