The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

In the current situation, Dai Zijing was completely out of his depth and utterly panicked.

Because in his daily interactions with Wang Jinrui, it was far more than the usual playful banter between friends.

Especially now that all his companions had left, leaving him alone to face the wrathful Wang Family.

Dai Zijing had none of his previous arrogance, defensively glaring at Wang Zhanjie and his son, speaking with a false bravado, ”What exactly do you want? I was just joking around with Wang Jinrui, didn’t do anything to him! If you can’t afford this, fine, I’ll go home and ask my dad, and this meal will be on me, okay?”

Wang Zhanjie replied unhurriedly, ”If nothing happened, then it should just be harmless teasing, right? Xiaodai, go ahead, tell me, how do you normally joke with our Xiaorui? What kind of jokes do you make?”

”If it really was just a few jokes and horsing around, and my Xiaorui falsely accused you of bullying, I guarantee I won’t leave here and will break his leg right now, Xiaodai, go ahead and speak!”

Speak, say what?

How to say it?

Dai Zijing was bewildered.

His companions did the same things as him, so why could they leave so easily?

And each one left immediately.

Before leaving, they apologized humbly, their words filled with attempts to please the Wang Father and son.

What does this mean?

Dai Zijing looked around at his current isolation, with no one to rescue him or lend a hand, and he simply resigned himself to his fate, collapsing under the pressure.

It’s just money, his family was not lacking it.

At most, his dad might find out and give him a beating to relieve his anger.

It’s just getting beaten up?

He had been beaten many times growing up.

Thinking like this, he calmed down, straightening his neck, and stopped speaking.

Looking like a dead pig unafraid of boiling water, indifferent.

But anyone with a bit of life experience knows that facial expressions do not necessarily reveal true thoughts.

Otherwise, there would be no saying like ”a fierce appearance but weak inside.”

Indeed, Dai Zijing was now in a daze, if he had to pinpoint a clear thought, it was regret.

Regret that he shouldn’t have planned to take advantage of Wang Jinrui for this meal.

Regret that when he saw Wang Jinrui was all about studying, he thought he was easy to bully, so he kept picking on him for fun.

And those so-called buddies who used to hang around him.

Originally, they agreed to follow his lead, claimed he was their leader, and he always shared the good stuff with them.

Now that something happened, they all ran faster than anyone else!

It’s really damn realistic!

All bullshit!

After Wang Zhanjie finished speaking, he calmly waited for Dai Zijing to reply.

Being stared at like this, Dai Zijing felt utterly useless!

Actually cornered by someone at the restaurant entrance, not even allowed to go home!

And yet, he dared not walk away or run!

He might escape now, but sooner or later, they would find him at school.

Especially since Wang Zhanjie had a knife in his bag, if provoked, who knew what might happen...

He would just have to take it.

And Wang Jinrui’s elder brother, who remained silent but had such a fierce gaze...

Dai Zijing hesitated, unsure of what to say.

At this moment, Wang Zhanjie suddenly spoke, ”Alright, since you don’t want to talk, I will.”

”I can guess what you’ve been up to without asking. Our Xiaorui is good at studying, haven’t you copied his homework quite often or asked him to help you write it?”

”I give my son thirty yuan each day for meals, covering lunch, dinner, and an evening snack during study sessions, did you dine with him as well?”

”Too lazy to move normally, having him run errands, and if in a bad mood, shouting or criticizing him?”

...

Dai Zijing: ”...I...ah!”

Wang Zhanjie suddenly stepped forward, grabbed Dai Zijing by the collar, pulling him upright, immobilizing him.

Dai Zijing felt like he was being squeezed by an iron grip, his breathing became labored.

The seemingly calm and steady Wang Zhanjie suddenly had eyes as cold as ice, as if struggling to suppress a raging volcano.

With one arm holding Dai Zijing firmly, he fell silent, just staring at him.

Dai Zijing thought of the knife, struggled briefly, found escape impossible, and dared not fight back.

He trembled, asking, ”What...what do you want?”

Wang Zhanjie’s mouth tensed, eyes slowly reddening, forcing out his anger, ”You’re your family’s precious child, Wang Jinrui is my son, he’s my precious too, what right do you have to bully my son!? Hm? Dai Zijing!?”

Dai Zijing felt the pressure on his neck, not daring to make a sound.

Wang Zhanjie’s gaze sharp, gritting his teeth slowly, ”You’re a student, right?”

”As a student, do what students are supposed to do!”

”Now, you can rely on your height and strength to bully my son, but after graduation, when you enter society, will you still dare to touch my son? Are you qualified to?”

”My son didn’t just appear out of nowhere; he has a father, a brother, family!”

”If you dare to touch my son at school, I will dare to touch you, to touch your family outside of school, understand?”
