The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Beyond that, Fu Yu was surprised to find that he had already leveled up to lv10.

Just one more level, and his skill level can be upgraded to Intermediate Chef.

Although becoming an Intermediate Chef is just a change in title without any substantial reward, the upgrade in title is also a recognition of his culinary skill level.

Fu Yu was very concerned about this.

Liu Yunong’s talent in cooking is actually quite astonishing.

Even though Fu Yu has a system to rely on, he also acknowledges and is amazed by this fact.

Clearly, she only watched the detailed live cooking operation once and didn’t actually practice it.

Yet Liu Yunong could almost perfectly replicate all the details and key operations of the dish during cooking.

If it weren’t for her slightly inferior speed and control over time, even Fu Yu thought Liu Yunong’s cooking skills could reach his level.

One must know, he had the system’s cheat to enhance his speed and time control.

But for someone like Liu Yunong, who is an ordinary person, reaching this level is already very astonishing.

Fu Yu had long noticed that Liu Yunong was extremely good at splitting a type of skill that tests finger agility and speed.

And now I discovered her control over the heat is also very precise.

Of course, she cannot be compared to someone like me who has cheat aids.

But among the ordinary chefs, she is considered an outstanding one.

Having such exquisite culinary skills requires hard work and dedication even with high talent.

Thinking of this, Fu Yu felt even more admiration and appreciation for Liu Yunong.

She is a very hardworking and capable chef.

Fully deserving of the title of a famous chef.

Liu Yunong took nearly four hours to cook this dish, Peony Fish Fillet.

In the end, she didn’t even have time to do the plating.

The cooked fish was divided and eaten by several people in the kitchen. The taste was okay, but because it was fried for too long, except for the last few pieces taken out of the pot, the rest were noticeably less crispy.\n\n

Liu Yunong tasted a piece herself and remarked with some satisfaction, ”It’s still quite far from your level! But much better than when I tried it last time. After making it a few more times, it should be no problem.”

After all, in the kitchen here, two people can work together on the frying task, which saves a lot of time.

As for this dish, there’s no rush to put it on sale. I will continue to study and research to see if the cooking process can be streamlined and if the flavor can be adjusted.

Especially the sauce aspect, there’s still a lot of room for improvement.

Since I want to include this dish in the menu, it must have the unique features of our own restaurant.

Liu Yunong is quite experienced in this. This matter isn’t urgent and must be approached slowly.

...

The next day, Zhao Meng had the night shift.

Fu Yu stayed up late last night looking up some recent cooking competition videos from the national chef competition. He originally just wanted to get a rough idea of the content and process of the competition, but unexpectedly found a very outstanding middle-aged chef.

The person was extremely skilled whether in cooking or in managing the kitchen as a whole, watching him cook while overseeing all the serving matters was particularly satisfying and thrilling.

Fu Yu wasn’t planning on staying up, but he got so interested that, after watching the finals, he couldn’t help but found the videos from the regional competition.

He watched and reviewed until dawn, then finally fell asleep.

He didn’t sleep in a good position, so he woke up with a slight neck strain.

Breakfast was prepared by the people from Gu Yunwu’s side, Fu Yu had breakfast with the crowd and was about to check the pickling of the small dishes in the storage room when he suddenly received an unfamiliar phone call.

He checked the phone number carefully and confirmed he didn’t know it, hesitated a bit before answering.

Unlike his other colleagues who frequently receive various calls from family and friends,

Fu Yu usually only texts Liu Yuqing, and talks to his parents on the phone every night on his way back to the store.

The rest, such as classmates from culinary school, usually chat in group chats, scattered all around the world, hardly ever contacting by phone.

”Hello, is this Mr. Fu?” the caller was a woman, her voice sounded very gentle, her words clear, and she left a very good first impression.

Fu Yu responded, ”Yes, hello.”

Fu Yu didn’t say anything else, waiting for the caller to state their purpose.

Meng Dan hurriedly said, ”Hello, Mr. Fu, I am Meng Dan, the manager at the Fengqiao Riverfront Sales Office.”

”Here’s the situation, Manager Wang asked me to verify some information with you. We need to report the resident information for the computer-generated contracts, which is also for the convenience of residents getting their property certificates after the New Year.”

Upon hearing this, Fu Yu remembered the matter.

He bought a new apartment, received a computer-generated contract from the sales office after payment, and needed to wait until the community was officially completed to swap for the property certificate at Building 8.

”Oh! Hello, Manager Meng.”

Meng Dan chuckled, ”Mr. Fu, when would you be available? It would be best if you could come over to our sales office, as there are some procedures that require your personal signature.”

When buying the house, Fu Yu was personally attended to by Manager Wang, so some unnecessary procedures were skipped if possible.

It turns out there’s a sudden strict inspection now requiring rectification, so all necessary procedures must be completed.

Fu Yu glanced at the time; it’s just after the Small New Year, and business at the store isn’t too busy. He figured he could make a quick trip in the afternoon.

”I’ll come over this afternoon. What time do you have someone there?” Fu Yu asked directly.

Meng Dan promptly replied, ”We start working at one-thirty in the afternoon, you can come by anytime and someone will be here.”

After hanging up, Fu Yu turned to ask Zhao Meng for leave.

Hearing it was to handle matters relating to the new house, Zhao Meng was quite attentive, further inquiring about the specifics, gave a few reminders, and promptly approved the leave.

After the midday meal rush, there were basically no more customers coming in the afternoon.

And Fu Yu would go over to Shangshi Private Kitchen to assist every evening.

Thinking about Liu Yunong’s previous promise to help Fu Yu sign up for the national chef cooking competition and even promised to give him special training,

Zhao Meng simply gave Fu Yu the whole afternoon off.

”After you finish the procedures, just head over there. Work isn’t that busy now anyway.”

Fu Yu thought the procedures might be quite troublesome, and going back afterward would be almost time to get off work, so he smiled with gratitude, ”Thanks, Chef Zhao!”

Zhao Meng jokingly said, ”Remember to invite us when you move in, I’ll come to warm up the house!”

Fu Yu beamed, ”Of course!”

But regarding the house matters, he hadn’t planned on telling Liu Yuqing yet.

On one hand, it felt a little too early to bring up house matters now that they’ve just started the relationship.

On the other hand, he wanted to give Liu Yuqing a surprise.

As for the mortgage issue...Fu Yu still had nearly 200,000 on hand, but...with the New Year approaching, the commissioned herbal meals after the New Year should be ready for him to take his share of the profits, right?

In the afternoon, Fu Yu didn’t even bother with lunch, hailed a cab, and went directly to the sales office.

Upon arrival, he reported his name and was enthusiastically brought to Meng Dan’s office by the staff.

Fu Yu initially thought it would be very troublesome, but things were unexpectedly simple.

Meng Dan had already prepared all the materials that needed registration and signatures in advance, so all Fu Yu had to do was answer questions and sign.

In less than ten minutes from start to finish, Fu Yu had everything sorted out.

However...

Meng Dan then handed Fu Yu a list of freebies.

Fu Yu took a look and was instantly stupefied.

These... these are all for him?

Special allowance house freebies, group-buying house subsidies, collective house subsidies... There were also commercial promotion activities, gift shopping coupons...

All these items, it felt like picking money off the ground?

Did they not mention any of these when he bought the house previously?
