The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Zhao Meng listened to what he said, thought for a moment, and then said, ”There’s no need to be too deliberate. This is purely a coincidence. Let’s do it this way, after the New Year, let’s find a day, call Chef Yao out, you treat us to a meal, and we’ll decide the place then.”

Fu Yu listened to Zhao Meng’s arrangement, and after chatting for a while, they hung up the phone.

With Zhao Meng’s help in giving advice, Fu Yu didn’t dwell on the matter anymore.

As Zhao Meng said, sometimes being too deliberate makes it seem distant.

Yao Shi is willing to help himself, so he just needs to remember this kindness and repay it when possible.

On the way to Shangshi Private Kitchen by taxi, Fu Yu felt somewhat excited.

In just an afternoon, the task of producing the official signed contract was completed.

Besides that, he also gained a sum of subsidy money which could be used to supplement the housing renovation fees.

Leaning against the car seat, Fu Yu pondered about giving Liu Yuqing a pleasant surprise.

After the New Year, when he could adjust his work schedule, he’d choose to have the same day off as Liu Yuqing. At that time, he’d take her to the Great World for a visit and discuss specific renovation details with the designer.

After all, the bed has been purchased, and other furniture also needs to be decided upon gradually.

With the furniture in place, the design for the house renovation can be more detailed and comprehensive.

Although he hasn’t experienced renovation before, Fu Yu knows that this is like a bottomless pit.

Therefore, this time, Boss Pang’s ex-wife really helped Fu Yu a great deal, making the renovation funds more ample.

Thinking about going to the Great World and discussing the house’s specific renovation with a designer, Liu Yuqing will definitely be very happy.

This time, he can also be generous and try to pick a design according to her preferences.

Thinking this way, Fu Yu suddenly felt delighted, feeling that investing the subsidy money was very much worthwhile!

In his excitement, Fu Yu couldn’t help but send Liu Yuqing a message: [I picked up a big lucky break today!]

Liu Yuqing was at the counter with Jiang Mo, organizing today’s takeaway orders when she saw the message from Fu Yu, feeling a bit surprised!

She glanced at the time, it was just past four o’clock. Did he go over to the pastry section for snacks so early?

A pie... I wonder what the filling is. Although she had lunch at noon, thinking about the pastry section’s skills, she felt like she could still have some more!

So she replied with a smile: [Really? What filling is it? Save me a piece!]

When Fu Yu saw the message, he couldn’t help but burst into laughter. This little foodie is just too focused on eating.

Subsequently, another message came through: [Did you take the afternoon off? Where did you go? Why didn’t you tell me?]

Fu Yu was taken aback and couldn’t help but chuckle.

Well!

She even went out of her way to the back kitchen.

[Something came up suddenly, you misunderstood, I said I picked up a big lucky break! I came across something good!]

Liu Yuqing quickly replied with an embarrassed emoji.

[I misunderstood. What good thing?]

Fu Yu slightly lifted the corners of his mouth: [After the New Year we can adjust our shifts, pick a day, and let me know.]

Liu Yuqing: [Why? Are you asking me out?]

Fu Yu: [Yes, will you go with me?]

Liu Yuqing: [Outsiders definitely can’t, but you’re not an outsider.]

Liu Yuqing sent over an affectionate bunny girl emoji.

Fu Yu couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

This girl is too amusing!

...

Meanwhile, Liu Yunong received a message from her sister, feeling somewhat out of sorts.

She replied: [Why did you suddenly think of asking me to dinner?]

Liu Yuqing quickly replied: [Finished work early today! Sis, head over to the side street now, I’ll come out once I change!]

Liu Yunong drove out of the neighborhood and stopped about a hundred meters from the back entrance of Qianlima.

She got out first, went to the nearby milk tea shop, bought a signature milk tea, then returned to the car and called Liu Yuqing.

She couldn’t help but feel a little puzzled.

So she finished work early?

No wonder Fu Yu called just now, saying he could come to the shop early.

But...

Since Fu Yu and Liu Yuqing both finished work early, why didn’t the two of them plan for a meal together?

Instead, they planned to meet with her?

Truth be told, ever since Liu Yuqing started working at Qianlima, her chances of dining with her sister have become few and far between.

Their work schedules differ, and they have no opportunity to be together during the day.

Could they have had a fight?

About what?

Her younger sister has a good temper and is well-liked.

Fu Yu also has a nice personality.

If these two were to argue, the reason could only be... the house?

Thinking of this, Liu Yunong’s expression suddenly changed.

This brother-in-law... frankly, she is quite satisfied with him. Though he has no money and his career has just started, he has a good temperament, is highly motivated, and quite talented.

The most critical point is that with her as a mentor, it would be hard for him not to succeed in the future!

Additionally, Liu Yuqing and Fu Yu are quite a good match. Her sister finally found someone she likes, gets along with, and truly loves.

No matter what, they shouldn’t let these small material issues hinder the smooth advancement of their relationship.

Moreover, the more Liu Yunong interacts with Xiaofu, the more she finds him agreeable, observant, and likable.

Especially in terms of career prospects, the future looks limitless!

In terms of material conditions, they shouldn’t demand too much from Fu Yu.

The boy comes from a small town, and his parents have limited capabilities, which is a matter of background, something he had no choice in.

As for acquired attributes, Fu Yu works diligently, and he’s doing quite well with his efforts.

Even without considering the reasons related to her sister, purely in terms of her apprentice, she couldn’t just watch Fu Yu sacrifice his future over housing issues.

The more Liu Yunong thought about it, the less comfortable she felt, and she was increasingly unable to set her mind at ease.

As she waited, she couldn’t help pondering how best to handle the situation.

When Liu Yuqing received the call, she quickly ran out.

Oh!

It’s cold!

They say it’s a warm winter this year, but Bei’an’s winter could freeze you to death.

Especially since she dressed for style and didn’t wear thermal leggings; the little breeze chilled her to the bone!

Liu Yuqing sniffled and felt a slight sting in her eyes.

Due to long hours in front of the computer and staying up late, she developed a tear reflex when facing the wind.

The cold wind blew, and when she got in the car, the sudden switch between cold and warm made tears uncontrollably stream from her eyes.

Liu Yunong, holding the milk tea ready to hand it to Liu Yuqing, looked up in shock.

Wow!

Why is she crying?!

Liu Yunong was suddenly worried: ”What happened?”

Liu Yuqing was rummaging through her bag for tissues and answered, ”Huh? Nothing really.”

The tears were from the cold, and her nose was somewhat congested.

Liu Yuqing didn’t think much of it, but Liu Yunong immediately grew concerned upon hearing her nasal tone.

”Why are you crying?”

Liu Yuqing took out tissues and quickly wiped her tears, explaining, ”I’m not, it’s the wind.”

Liu Yunong saw Liu Yuqing wiping tears and blowing her nose, finding it hard to believe her.

”Oh, it’s from the cold. You startled me.” She thought for a moment, then cautiously asked, ”By the way, Xiaoqing, about buying a house you mentioned last time... thinking back on it, it actually seems appropriate!”

Liu Yunong’s expression was serious.

Liu Yuqing was busy wiping the slightly smudged eyeliner from her eyes and was surprised by her sister’s sudden comment.

”Sis! You really think it’s appropriate?” Liu Yuqing looked delighted.

She hadn’t expected her sister to actually agree!

After all, it’s no small matter!

Buying a house costs a lot of money.

But... thinking of secretly buying the house would definitely give Fu Yu a surprise!

She couldn’t help but pounce, wrapping her arms around her sister’s neck, and gave her a strong hug and a kiss.

”Sis! Do you really mean it?”
