The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

After personally arranging the banquet for Kang Guijie, Yao Shi finally left with his friends.

Once he settled his friends and accompanied them halfway through the meal, he deliberately returned.

Encountering Kang Guijie is an opportunity that one usually can’t come by even with connections.

Now that he’s in his own restaurant, such a good opportunity must not be missed.

Yao Shi brought over a bottle of good wine to entertain Kang Guijie.

In the kitchen, Fu Yu had just finished cooking for two tables of classic dishes, but before he could free his hands, the order taker came over with another ticket.

The order taker went straight to Fu Yu and handed over the order slip.

Fu Yu took a look at it and was stunned.

This...

How come it’s another order for classic dishes?

And it’s still four dishes with one staple, exactly like the two previous orders.

The crucial point is that the chef’s spot is left blank on this slip, indicating it wasn’t ordered by a regular customer.

The order taker didn’t notice this at all.

This was mainly because this order was selected based on previous order slips, and these dishes were all classic ones that had been taken off the menu.

Since the first two orders went to Fu Yu, this one was certainly considered his as well.

Fu Yu had already accepted it, and since it was just a small banquet and he was already familiar with cooking these dishes, making one more wouldn’t make much of a difference.

As he was busy cooking, just as he completed the last dish of millet crab, a server came over to inform him: ”Chef Fu, Chef Yao wants you to go to room 104 for a moment.”

Fu Yu was startled: ”Chef Yao is here!”

Then he realized and said in surprise, ”He wants me to go to box 104?”

The server nodded: ”Yes, there’s a gentleman there, and it looks like he knows Chef Yao.”

Upon hearing this, Fu Yu quickly responded: ”Okay, I’ll go right away.”

Room 104.

Kang Guijie was thoroughly satisfied with the meal.

He truly didn’t expect Qianlima to have such delicious classic dishes.

Whether it was the taste or the plating, everything was very classic.

It’s quite a pity that they were taken off the menu.

”It’s indeed an old establishment; it’s different.”

Kang Guijie’s words were very sincere.

Only a century-old restaurant like this could have so many secret recipes.

Yao Shi, sitting beside him, smiled and said, ”Actually, these dishes used to be quite popular, but trendy dishes are like that; their popularity is short-lived. After a period of high sales, they gradually fade away.”

Yao Shi didn’t mention that the restaurant was planning to reorganize those classic dishes after the new year, creating a menu of classic dishes for customers to choose from.

After all, classic things, no matter how many years pass, never really go out of style.

As long as the timing is right, they might re-enter the public eye and become beloved by customers once more.

But regarding the store’s management plans, Yao Shi never discussed them with outsiders.

However, Kang Guijie casually asked, ”Your chef’s skills are quite good!”

He had been drawn in by the perfectly prepared crab meat earlier.

Separating crab meat is not difficult; with the right tools and enough experience, anyone can do it.

But the plating of this millet crab was truly beautiful. To separate the crab meat in such a manner is a real test of the chef’s skills.

It definitely couldn’t have been done by a mere kitchen helper.

Kang Guijie pointed at the crab meat, then at the eel: ”The knife skills are also exquisite. Who’s the master chef?”

Yao Shi wasn’t really sure, but seeing these dishes were all stews, he guessed Gu Yunwu was handling it.

Just then, a server came over to bring more dishes.

Yao Shi casually asked, ”Was this table’s order taken by Chef Gu?”

The server replied quickly: ”No, it was Chef Fu.”

”Xiaofu?!” Yao Shi was quite surprised.

It wasn’t that he doubted Fu Yu’s culinary skills.

But these classic dishes had long been off the menu.

Fu Yu hadn’t been working long enough to have encountered these dishes before.

Today was surely his first time handling them, and unexpectedly, he did so well.

Yao Shi, having been seasoned by time, usually didn’t show his emotions.

But he was so surprised that he couldn’t help it.

The server quickly added, ”Yes, besides this table, the two previous orders were also handled by Chef Fu.”

After the server left, Kang Guijie, quite interested, asked, ”Is this Chef Fu very young?”

If Yao Shi called him Xiaofu, he should be just about thirty years old.

To be so young and have such exquisite culinary skills, Qianlima truly harbors talent!

There was no reason to hide anything about this.

Yao Shi honestly replied, ”Oh, his name is Fu Yu, and he just joined us a year ago.”

Kang Guijie was taken aback: ”Did he work at other restaurants before?”

Yao Shi chuckled, ”No, he was recommended directly by his culinary school for an internship here after graduating.”

This time, Kang Guijie was also quite surprised: ”Really?”

Culinary school graduates are typically just in their early twenties.

He initially thought Fu Yu might be in his thirties and still considered that young, but he never expected him to be so young.

This revelation made Kang Guijie even more interested in the young chef he had yet to meet.

”Xiao Yao, could you call him over so I can meet him?”

Someone in their early twenties with such exquisite culinary skills and superb knife work must have an exceptional background.

In the industry, there are indeed talented young individuals like this, but most are heirs of culinary families, meticulously trained from a young age.

Or they had extremely skilled mentors.
