The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Having worked nonstop for such a long time, it’s rare to finally have a day off.

Fu Yu didn’t waste any time. After getting up early, the first thing he did was head over to check out the new house.

If time permits, he also plans to take a look at some practical cars.

He’ll have to buy a car sooner or later, so it’s good to take a look ahead of time. If there’s a suitable one, it gives some peace of mind.

The handover date for the new house is set for May.

Actually, the basic construction inside the building is already complete. What’s left is just some external wall painting.

Fu Yu finally managed to buy a house of his own, so he still thinks about it quite a bit.

On the way there by taxi, Fu Yu suddenly remembered that he had an unclaimed task reward.

[A random basic skill from Liu Yunong]

Fu Yu’s expectations for this reward weren’t very high.

In his view, a basic skill is equivalent to something of little value.

It’s not very useful, yet hard to discard.

So when he activated it, he didn’t have much hope.

[Ding! Congratulations on acquiring the NPC chef Liu Yunong’s skill: Beginner-level Skinning and Peeling Skill]

The skill of skinning and peeling probably means just that, right?

What an... incredibly practical skill.

Skinning and peeling!

Splitting, dissecting, removing the skin or other parts of the ingredients.

Simply put, it’s the most basic technique needed in food preparation operations.

Useless, you say?

You often encounter it in regular operations.

Useful, you say?

Its utility doesn’t seem particularly significant.

After all, the job of skinning and peeling is handled by junior workers, and by the time Fu Yu takes over, the ingredients are already processed.

With high orders in the kitchen, the chef is usually busy cooking with no time to prep ingredients.

The main responsibility of junior workers is prep work, from dicing to pre-frying, even transporting various seasonings. They do scattered but busy tasks.

However, having more skills is never a bad thing. Since he acquired the skill, he might as well keep it and use it.

It’s just that the skinning and peeling skill is only at the beginner level, and he doesn’t know if he can improve it with continuous practice in the future.

...

Fu Yu took a taxi to the new residential complex.

In just two short months, the appearance of the entire complex has noticeably changed.

Although due to weather conditions, the landscaping has only taken shape and hasn’t started transplanting flowers and plants, Fu Yu has seen the plan for the residential area and has a general impression in mind.

As the development of the area progresses, both the greenery and the design of the leisure landscape will be excellent.

Fu Yu completed the paperwork at the sales office and obtained the keys to the house.

The keys are temporary; he can change the locks later.

The manager personally escorted Fu Yu out and enthusiastically asked, ”Mr. Fu, are you planning to start renovating the house soon?”

Startled, Fu Yu responded, ”Oh, yes, that’s the plan.”

The manager immediately said, ”The property manager is a friend of mine. If you need anything, you can contact him directly.”

Fu Yu quickly expressed his gratitude, ”Really? Well, that’s perfect! I’m not very knowledgeable in this area.”

The manager chuckled, ”There usually isn’t much need for him, but during renovation, such as when disposing of construction waste or checking load-bearing walls, he can help facilitate things.”

Fu Yu didn’t expect to make such a connection and thanked the manager profusely.

After leaving the sales office, Fu Yu headed towards the new house.

Indeed, as the manager said, many people had already started their interior renovations.

Construction workers could be seen entering and exiting at the entrance of the building, and there were numerous vans from renovation companies carrying eye-catching advertisements.

Since he was informed by the sales office that the handover would be in May, Fu Yu hadn’t given much thought to renovations.

Fu Yu’s idea about remodeling was quite simple. Since he didn’t understand it himself, and his parents probably didn’t know much more either.

After all, their family had lived in the same house for over twenty years and had never moved. His parents must have long forgotten how the house was initially decorated.

As for the current popular renovation materials and design styles, they hadn’t encountered them before, let alone studied them.

Fu Yu thought, since he didn’t know, he might as well find someone knowledgeable to help with the design.

He planned to hire a professional team to handle the renovation of the new house directly.

He wasn’t aiming for anything luxurious, just a standard, ordinary renovation.

After all, for now, he would be living alone, and he didn’t have high requirements for home furnishings.

In the future, whether his parents moved in or he used it for marriage, it would be adequate.

If he really wasn’t satisfied, he could always redo the renovations.

On the way upstairs, he happened to encounter a neighbor on the second floor being renovated. Fu Yu greeted them and took a tour inside.

Subsequently, based on the recommendation of this family, he took a walk to a few other units being renovated in the neighboring block.

After viewing several apartments, he had a rough idea in mind.

He thought he might as well take advantage of the time today to visit a few renovation design companies and understand what styles are currently popular in home decoration.

Upon returning to the new home, Fu Yu’s feelings were entirely different from when he purchased it.

An indescribable sense of satisfaction welled up within him.

This house would soon become his own new home.

The thought gave him a feeling of officially settling down in Bei’an.

It was both reassuring and joyful!
