The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Actually, this is a bit of boasting. Her current apartment was fully paid for by her sister and given to her as a gift.

The BMW in her garage was bought for over six hundred thousand.

Boasting about things that she already owns, she feels very confident.

She initially thought Fu Yu must be fuming right now, waiting for a chance to retort sarcastically.

But instead, Fu Yu looked anxious, a little aggrieved, and said, ”I’m satisfied, how could I not be? My mom said, as long as I have a house and a car, and accompany it with a fifty thousand dowry, she’d let me marry you!”

The staff immediately stopped in their tracks!

A phrase ”Hey girl, have some sense, are you marrying a husband or taking in a gigolo!”, came to the staff’s mind, but they swallowed it before speaking.

It was incredibly stifling to swallow back the words!

So, until they entered the company’s front doors, the staff didn’t say another word, afraid they might blurt out something that would ruin the deal.

Liu Yuqing was so angry that her eyes went round, watching Fu Yu’s playful expression, she ground her teeth.

Pretty boy with no good intentions!

I’ll let you keep your dirty mouth running!

There’s a long road ahead, one day I’ll make you sit in a mansion and cry!

Completely unaware that her quip earned her a step into the wealthy circle.

Fu Yu followed the staff into the renovation company, and after some understanding and communication, he realized bringing Liu Yuqing over today was indeed a very wise choice.

Because Liu Yuqing wasn’t just talking; she genuinely knew a lot about renovations.

Accompanying Fu Yu, she worked with the designer to draw the house’s structure, discussing the most popular renovation styles. From major things like rearranging the floor heating pipes to minor things like the slope angle of the bathroom floor, she talked about everything clearly and thoroughly.

Listening to Liu Yuqing discussing the design plans with the designer, Fu Yu suddenly felt like he and Liu Yuqing were a newly married couple preparing to renovate their home.

Because Liu Yuqing was too professional and serious.

She paid great attention to the details of the renovation materials, their lifespan, color scheme, and so forth.

This caused the designer’s attitude to become more cautious as well.

Fu Yu sat quietly at the side, finding it a bit hard to join the conversation.

He sat quietly, watching Liu Yuqing seriously evaluate the designer’s suggestions:

”I don’t think it works. The kitchen can’t be open plan. He cooks, and it’ll be too smoky.”

”This won’t do either. The bathroom definitely needs to have separated wet and dry areas!”

”With this on the balcony floor, how do we hang clothes?”

”I find tatami beds very impractical. If you’re on a low floor, what if there are bugs?”

...

Throughout the discussion, Liu Yuqing consistently rejected the designer’s suggestions and presented her own opinions one by one.

And this attitude didn’t make Fu Yu feel impatient; instead, it occasionally warmed his heart.

He felt very grateful and even a little happy.

Liu Yuqing seemed genuinely interested in house renovations.

She was also helping Fu Yu design the layout of the house.

”Later, this spot will have the sofa, and don’t get those leather ones, they’re hard to maintain, just get fabric ones that can have seasonal covers...”

”And here, the wall can actually be knocked down to make the space appear more spacious...”

...

Liu Yuqing had her own strong opinions about renovations and a unique aesthetic sense and judgment regarding home arrangements and decorations.

Whether this was from experience gained from renovating her home before or just her personal preference, Fu Yu didn’t know.

In Fu Yu’s eyes, Liu Yuqing was someone who knew how to live and loved life.

He never imagined someone so diligent and quick in work could be such a richly romantic person in life.

Seeing Liu Yuqing sitting beside him animatedly discussing various house design assumptions with the designer made Fu Yu feel particularly warm and lovely at that moment.

Almost all the staff considered them a couple about to get married.

Initially, Fu Yu tried to explain, but when a staff member said while smiling, ”If it’s not her own home, how could she be so attentive,”

Fu Yu felt a warmth inside and tacitly admitted it.

...

House renovation design is a very cumbersome and troublesome business.

The designer offered many reference opinions, so discussing them often took a lot of time.

A design floor plan, from a blank canvas, was gradually filled with various furniture and decoration elements, becoming vivid and three-dimensional.

This feeling was very interesting.

Liu Yuqing was also very enthusiastic about the discussions with the designer, seemingly putting herself into the role of the mistress of the house, tirelessly engaging in every aspect of the design and discussion, striving to utilize every nook and cranny of the house without wasting any space.

The chat went on to one-thirty in the afternoon.

The designer handed over the initial draft for Liu Yuqing to take as a reference.

Coming out of the renovation company, Liu Yuqing handed the design papers to Fu Yu with a generous gesture, ”Here, my battle achievements! Let me tell you, these details mustn’t be left to them. They just want to sell us more stuff, more is better; who cares about your practicality later!”

Liu Yuqing was in a good mood today, participating freely in the design process.

The heating in the renovation company was excellent, and her down jacket collar was open, revealing a light blue tight sweater underneath, her chest heaving slightly as she spoke, hair sticking to her forehead, and her face flushed.

As the dry, cold winter wind blew, Fu Yu instinctively took a few extra glances at Liu Yuqing.

Fu Yu nodded, ”You’re right. Today, you’re the key contributor. Have you decided what you’d like to eat? I’ll let you choose whatever you want today!”

Liu Yuqing chuckled, ”Alright! Then I’ll need to think hard about it.”

She had a bright smile on her face, showing no sign of fatigue but rather some excitement.

The welcoming staff at the entrance politely and considerately wished them well, ”Although it’s a bit early, we still wish you everlasting love and a happy marriage.”

Fu Yu was momentarily stunned and instinctively looked at Liu Yuqing.

Their eyes met in the cold air, and, as if pre-arranged, their lips curled into smiles.

”Alright, thank you.”

”Mm, goodbye!”

...

The two walked side by side into the side street.

Fu Yu sincerely said, ”I discovered you’re quite professional! You really know a lot about renovation, like those materials and color schemes; I was so impressed. You’re amazing! Luckily, you were here today, or else I would’ve surely been swindled.”

Liu Yuqing immediately puffed out her chest, ”Well, of course! My family... no, a friend of mine has several sets of houses and stores. I’ve run around with them for building materials. After seeing a lot, you get familiar with the ins and outs.”

Fu Yu couldn’t help but laugh, ”Turns out you really are an expert! That’s great, my house needs to be renovated now. I’ll assign you to take charge of the specific renovation matters, okay?”

Liu Yuqing laughed and said, ”You have an active imagination there, me helping you renovate your place? Do you know how tiring that is?”

Fu Yu immediately said, ”I wouldn’t let you work for free. During the renovation, all meals and drinks are on me, and afterward, I’ll treat you to a big meal!”

Liu Yuqing rolled her eyes, ”You think a few meals can buy me off?”

Fu Yu smiled slightly, ”Plus a big feast?”

Liu Yuqing thought for a moment and said, ”Then I want to eat seafood feast from our place, including baked lobster and braised abalone with scallions!”

Watching Liu Yuqing’s greedy expression, Fu Yu could only think, ”So cute, so cute...”

”Alright, no problem, I’ll personally cook a seafood feast for you!”

Experiencing firsthand the blinding effects of beauty, Fu Yu felt it entirely.

That one sentence was like throwing away a thousand bucks, and it may not even stop.

”Now that’s more like it!”

Liu Yuqing seemed a bit reluctant, yet inside, she felt quite content.

Unable to stop herself from glancing at Fu Yu’s handsome face, she figured this tiring task, she’d accept it.

After all, she really liked home design and renovation.
