The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

The two of them locked eyes, simultaneously feeling their hearts sinking little by little, as if falling into a vortex, swept away by the person in front of them...

...

Major brand sportswear store.

Wang Kangxu wore a smile on his face, personally seeing the customer to the store door, accompanied by the store manager, watching the customer leave.

Once the customer’s figure disappeared in the distance, he turned around and went back into the store.

His face was brimming with a confident smile.

This is what you call a top sales agent!

Able to perfectly resolve the customer’s demands while also landing a substantial consecutive sale.

The originally irate customer had come to return their purchase, but with his smooth-talking persuasion, not only didn’t ask for a refund but also exchanged for another model of the same price and ended up purchasing an additional new spring outfit.

With the same sales techniques he had just used, Wang Kangxu conducted a meeting with a few others in the store.

Listening to the genuine or feigned flattery from those around him, the unpleasantness that had been sticking in his heart slowly dissipated.

This after-sales deal might have been the best performance of his career so far.

No wonder they say anger can unleash one’s potential!

A good boss not only needs a vision to plan future sales prospects but also a strong mind to face various unexpected events.

No matter how unreasonable or difficult, no customer has ever made him flinch.

But when it came to pursuing Liu Yuqing, Wang Kangxu truly felt at a loss.

He started pursuing Liu Yuqing back when they were in school.

Several years have passed since then. He tried every method; he was wealthy and good-looking — which girl could resist such sincere pursuit?

Yet Liu Yuqing never gave him a chance.

Despite always giving a warm face to a cold shoulder, Wang Kangxu delighted in it.

He couldn’t help it; he liked Liu Yuqing!

Moreover, Liu Yuqing wasn’t just definitive in rejecting him, she had the same attitude toward other suitors.

No matter how many swarms of admirers came, Liu Yuqing could wave them off without a trace.

Leaving many admirers with a mix of love and hate, keeping her in their hearts intensely.

However...

How did Liu Yuqing suddenly take a liking to an unremarkable chef?

Wang Kangxu genuinely couldn’t figure it out.

Was it because of his good looks?

What good is being handsome? It doesn’t fill your stomach!

Wang Kangxu’s father started with running a hotel.

He got in on the ground floor of this burgeoning industry, quickly growing wealthy with a group of brothers.

After graduating from college, Wang Kangxu didn’t immediately return to take over the family business; instead, he used the money from his family to start his own investments.

He endorsed a brand home store and then opened this sports brand store.

Both businesses were thriving, booming more and more each day.

He began thinking, planning to use the family hotel to set up a catering delivery division.

The catering delivery division would be a part of the hotel, providing dining services to both hotel and non-hotel guests, set up in a dedicated space.

The catering delivery division he wanted to create would not only provide meals for ordinary customers but also facilitate corporate group events.

It was for this reason that Wang Kangxu set his sights on Liu Yuqing.

If he could introduce or franchise the signature dishes from Shangshi Private Kitchen as a selling point for the catering delivery division, it could only benefit its development and customer stability in the future.

After all, Liu Yuqing’s sister, Liu Yunong, was a renowned female chef with multiple private kitchens doing great business.

In the circle, mention Liu Family Cuisine, and anyone in the know would give a thumbs up in admiration.

For the catering delivery division to develop its own features and stand firmly in the industry quickly, besides having standard service skills, the general dishes still needed to focus on high-end dining consumption.

The customers who could afford their family hotel were all people of status who didn’t lack money.

As long as the food tasted good and was distinctive, it could retain customers and, leveraging the hotel’s reputation, rapidly expand the customer base.

It could be described as killing two birds with one stone.

As for the notoriously secretive Liu Family Cuisine, which was a private kitchen business, the cooking methods certainly couldn’t be shared with outsiders.

But if he could win Liu Yuqing’s heart and marry her in the future.

With family, there wouldn’t be anything off-limits between them, right?

Everyone knew how much Liu Yunong adored her only sister, treating her like the apple of her eye.

If he could have a good relationship with Liu Yuqing, wouldn’t there be no worry about getting his hands on those secret recipes?

Wang Kangxu made his plans, calculating eagerly.

But who could have expected a competitor to suddenly appear?

Unwilling!

No way could he be content!

How could he just stand by and watch the girl he had adored for years get won over by some chef?

Especially now that even his parents were getting anxious about finding him a spouse.

Marriage is a lifelong matter.

He had to marry someone he could live happily with!

...

It was clearly the Hometown Garden Barbecue that Liu Yuqing longed for.

But when the fragrant beef was laid on the grill to roast, Liu Yuqing suddenly lost her appetite.

She ate absentmindedly, her mind uncontrollably calculating the construction materials the designer from the renovation company mentioned earlier.

Good materials definitely came with a heftier price tag.

If it were her own home, she’d definitely choose the best for the renovation.

Even if it took longer, she’d first set the design framework and then gradually purchase and fill in the materials piece by piece.

However, the house Fu Yu wanted to renovate was rented.

This meant that no matter how much money was spent on renovations now, once they moved out, it would all be a sunk cost.

Not a cent could be taken away.

This made Liu Yuqing more meticulous and cautious.

The same design and renovation, if she could spend less, even if the materials weren’t the best, as long as there was no formaldehyde problem, it wouldn’t be a big deal to make do.

In Liu Yuqing’s eyes, it seemed more worthwhile to buy a more satisfactory home and then spend money on renovations.

But thinking from Fu Yu’s perspective, given his current financial strength, buying a house was undoubtedly a strenuous task.

Even not considering full payment, saving up for the down payment alone could take over a decade.

Fu Yu was now learning culinary skills at Shangshi Private Kitchen daily; should she bring up with her sister the possibility of giving Fu Yu a salary?

Occasionally, her sister would praise Fu Yu’s culinary talent at home.

Given Fu Yu’s diligent and eager-to-learn nature, he must be doing a lot at Shangshi Private Kitchen.

At their restaurant, even the junior kitchen staff received decent wages.

Otherwise, Fu Yu might have to keep renting his current place.

Thinking of this, Liu Yuqing suddenly found it difficult to swallow her food.

She didn’t want to put too much pressure and burden on Fu Yu.

When consulting earlier, she primarily considered practicality and safety, overlooking the cost aspect.

Looking back now, it seemed like a lack of consideration.

After all, the cost of renovating a house was quite high!

How long had Fu Yu been working?

Not long before getting permanent status.

His family was from a small county; they didn’t have much money.

Thinking about it, Liu Yuqing suddenly felt the beef in her mouth didn’t taste good.

She looked at Fu Yu, plotting her little schemes in her heart.

Consoling words should best be said subtly when possible.

After contemplating for a moment, Liu Yuqing had a sudden inspiration: ”Fu Yu, is there urgency for you to move into this house? If it’s urgent, I actually suggest just a simple whitewash and adding a couple of essential furniture items. Try not to renovate anything else.”

”Nowadays, no matter how expensive the brand of materials, there’s always some formaldehyde. If you don’t air it out well after renovating, it can be really harmful to your health!”

”Plus, renovating in winter isn’t suitable; it’s too cold to keep doors or windows open!”

”With formaldehyde trapped inside, how would you live in that house?”

The more Liu Yuqing spoke, the more sense it seemed to make, almost convincing herself.

”Actually, if you’re not in a hurry, it’s better to wait for a better opportunity in the future to renovate.”
