The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Wang Kangxu finished speaking and casually adjusted the new watch on his right wrist with his left hand.

Fu Yu noticed it, glanced at it, and then looked away.

Wang Kangxu looked at Fu Yu: ”Mr. Fu, if you can decide on this bed today, I can throw in two extra sets of bedding for you. They’re straight from the manufacturer. Besides this brand, there’s another one that sent some top-quality four-piece sets before the New Year. You can choose two of those as well.”

”These are all specially made by the manufacturer. You can’t buy them outside even if you want to.”

Fu Yu was taken aback, then couldn’t help but laugh: ”Oh, okay, thank you.”

It’s pointless to engage in a war of words in front of everyone.

Besides, when it’s free stuff, the more the better.

Since Wang Kangxu was willing to offer, he’d gladly accept it.

Wang Kangxu continued, ”Of course, if you don’t want to buy, you don’t have to force yourself, after all...”

”No, I want to buy it. We’ve shopped around several stores, and this bed suits us the best.”

Fu Yu suddenly interrupted Wang Kangxu.

”Moreover, with Boss Wang taking care of us, it might be hard to find such a deal elsewhere.”

The salesperson standing nearby immediately beamed upon hearing this.

She knew that the commission for this bed was the highest among all the beds in their store.

If the sale went through, her commission alone could almost double her monthly wage.

”Mr. Fu, you’re really decisive! If it weren’t for our boss being here today, even our own staff wouldn’t be able to get this price.”

Fu Yu nodded: ”That’s right, it’s quite lucky indeed. Since we’ve settled on the price, let’s place the order.”

The salesperson quickly said, ”Alright, I’ll make the order for you right now!”

Then, she turned around happily to fill out the order form.

Wang Kangxu was visibly taken aback and asked in surprise, ”You really plan to buy this bed?”

Fu Yu nodded: ”Yes, as you said, I’m very satisfied with the price of this bed. Actually, I was thinking of getting an even better one, but for now, since I’m living alone, and I’m usually busy with work and come home rarely, it will do. I’ll get a better one when I get married.”

Wang Kangxu was dumbfounded!

He looked at Fu Yu’s teasing smile and felt a jolt in his heart.

Is he just bragging?

Pretending to be rich?

A bed costing tens of thousands, and he’s just making do with it?

Planning to buy an even better one for marriage?

This is blowing things out of proportion!

With that thought, Wang Kangxu steeled himself inwardly.

It must be!

How much money could a chef possibly have?

Buying this bed probably nearly cleared him out.

At that moment, Liu Yuqing came running back after getting the money, entering just in time to hear Fu Yu talking about placing the order.

Her heart tightened.

It seemed Fu Yu really managed to borrow the money.

But before she could even start to worry, she quickly realized—regardless of anything else, the bed was being bought.

As for paying back the money later, she could easily lend Fu Yu the money, letting him repay it slowly without pressure.

Thinking this, Liu Yuqing felt happy again.

She walked briskly towards Fu Yu and gave Wang Kangxu a sidelong glance as she passed him.

Hmph!

Who do you think you’re looking down on?

It’s just a bed!

Who can’t afford one!

The salesperson finished the order and came over to ask: ”Mr. Fu, could you please leave the delivery address?”

Fu Yu mentioned the location of Zhao Meng’s community.

Liu Yuqing was momentarily stunned.

She suddenly remembered that Fu Yu mentioned previously that he was staying at Zhao Meng’s place.

Was he now renting a separate place in the same community?

That was quite close to her place.

Though the housing prices in that community were quite high, even renting wouldn’t be cheap.

As she walked briskly to Fu Yu, Liu Yuqing even imagined that if she ever had the chance to live with Fu Yu, this bed could be moved to her place, given the proximity.

Thinking of it, renting a place to live wasn’t a bad idea for Fu Yu.

The salesperson completed the registration and turned to prepare an official receipt.

Fu Yu suddenly stopped her and turned to Wang Kangxu with a smile: ”Right, Boss Wang, didn’t you say you’d throw in two sets of bedding and four-piece sets? Why not pick them out now to be delivered with the bed?”

Saying this, he suddenly held Liu Yuqing’s hand, raising it slightly, lightly shaking it like Wang Kangxu had flaunted his watch earlier: ”It’s still early, and we plan to do more shopping, so carrying things around isn’t convenient.”

The salesperson responded quickly, ”Okay, I have a picture book here. You can flip through it and make your choice.”

Wang Kangxu stared intently at the linked hands of Fu Yu and Liu Yuqing, looking frustrated but unable to express it, holding back with all his might.

Liu Yuqing was inwardly laughing like crazy, feeling immensely vindicated and delighted!

But she couldn’t show it in front of Wang Kangxu.

So she took her time selecting bedsheets, sneaking amusement in her heart.

Even though the bedding was free, Liu Yuqing wasn’t shy about it.

She picked carefully, selecting two sets that were both visually appealing and luxuriously high-end, considering both material and style.

Once the salesperson finished the registration, Liu Yuqing pulled Fu Yu along to bid farewell to Wang Kangxu.

Not until they stepped out of the department store could Liu Yuqing no longer contain herself and burst into laughter.

”Hahaha...did you see that just now? Wang Kangxu’s face turned green with anger!”
