The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Liu Yuqing looked at Fu Yu and couldn’t help but laugh.

However, she thought Fu Yu must have rented a house somewhere outside.

She heard that the newly refurbished dormitory at the store was too rushed, and now in the winter, the windows and doors are closed all the time, and the smell inside hasn’t dissipated yet.

Many employees who live in the city and usually stay in the dormitory for convenience have moved back home during this period.

Liu Yuqing teased, ”Didn’t expect you to be so protective of your life!”

Fu Yu’s new apartment is not far from the Great World.

That’s why when he heard there was a professional renovation company nearby, he made a special trip to take a look.

Unexpectedly, before he could say anything, Liu Yuqing had already guessed it.

He felt a bit inexplicably disappointed!

Originally, he wanted to see Liu Yuqing’s surprised expression about him buying a house.

What a pity.

Liu Yuqing warmly said, ”Are you planning to buy home supplies or do a simple renovation? You’ve found the right person for this. I just finished renovating my place, so I have experience.”

Liu Yuqing had mentioned before that the house she was living in was rented, but it was surprising that she still did renovations despite it being a rental.

Fu Yu said honestly, ”I plan to look at renovations first.”

Liu Yuqing took the lead, walking ahead and leading the way, ”The renovation company I contracted is around here. Come on, I’ll lead you there. They are quite reliable, with their own company’s renovation team.”

The renovation company Liu Yuqing mentioned was on the second floor of the Great World, and its storefront was quite large, with two personnel in work uniforms at the entrance handing out promotional materials and small gifts to passing customers.

Seeing Fu Yu and Liu Yuqing walking together, the staff immediately approached them.

After clarifying their purpose, the staff cheerfully led them to the company on the second floor.

The person was very talkative, saying as they walked, ”Are you preparing to renovate a wedding room?”

Instinctively, Fu Yu wanted to deny it, but then he caught sight of Liu Yuqing beside him and, as if guided by a mischievous spirit, he nodded, ”Yeah! It’s a newly bought house, ready to move in soon. I just want to learn about renovation options first.”

Liu Yuqing was walking beside him, trying to figure out how to subtly mention her acquaintance with the owner of the renovation company, when she suddenly heard Fu Yu’s conversation with the staff and was momentarily stunned.

She turned her head in surprise to look at Fu Yu, her heart just starting to race, and then saw the playful look in his eye and immediately realized.

This jerk, he’s just messing around!

The surge of inexplicable joy she’d just felt instantly dissipated.

And that’s when the staff suddenly said, ”You really caught a good time; our store coincidentally has an event before the year ends. We specially invited a famous designer from out of town. The designer just arrived today, so you can consult him about the design and renovation of the new house.”

Fu Yu, upon hearing this, quickly asked, ”Oh, does this designer charge for consultations?”

Staff: ”The consultation is free.”

Fu Yu nodded, ”That’s good. I’m just inquiring for now. Designers usually aren’t cheap, right?”

The staff smiled, ”It depends on how complex the design plan is; specific details will depend on the final discussion.”

Fu Yu turned and asked Liu Yuqing, ”I really don’t know much about this. How did you handle it when your place was being renovated?”

Liu Yuqing was just about to reply but then reconsidered, her eyes shifting slyly as she looked at Fu Yu, and she slowly spoke, ”Oh, about my place, it was originally intended to be a wedding house, so I specifically hired a designer for the design. Then I hired a crew for the renovation; it cost hundreds of thousands inside and out, but you were still not satisfied, insisting it’s premarital property.”

”My family said, since you didn’t like that one, you should handle this new one however you want. We will just pay up, and you can choose the renovation style, and we’re only responsible for funding it. Nothing else.”

Fu Yu was suddenly stunned, seeing Liu Yuqing’s smug little expression, finally getting it that she was having a go at him.

The staff beside them listened, dumbstruck, their gaze moving from Liu Yuqing’s face to Fu Yu.

Pausing, the staff finally spoke hoarsely, ”Ah, so it was renovated before, good, if you have experience it’ll make communication easier later on.”

Saying this, the staff couldn’t help adding, ”Actually, the wedding house should really be to your liking because you’ll be living there for decades after getting married. Don’t be careless during the renovation, or else living there won’t be comfortable in the future, and remodeling later would be a hassle!”

Liu Yuqing glanced at the staff, thinking that it’s no wonder some people could work in a building, but this person was sent out into the cold to do promotion.

Girl, you’re a receptionist, aren’t you listening to what they’re saying at all?

Thinking of this, Liu Yuqing ground her teeth silently, deciding to up the ante: ”Exactly, so after he called that place premarital property, my family bought him a new place and is letting him have full control over the renovation. Whatever he likes, he can have. In addition to that, we’re giving him a new car worth at least fifty grand, just for transportation. The ones at home are premarital assets and should just stay there.”

”If he’s still not satisfied, then there’s no point in getting married!”

Sure enough, those words rendered the staff completely silent, giving Fu Yu a deep look—this in-law’s family is really something!

Liu Yuqing looked at Fu Yu, feeling exceptionally pleased inside.
