The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Liu Yuqing pulled Fu Yu along and said goodbye to Wang Kangxu, ”Thank you, we’ll be leaving now.”

As she spoke, she tugged Fu Yu again, ”Let’s go.”

But Fu Yu glanced at the bed in the store and stood still.

Liu Yuqing was taken aback and looked at Fu Yu in surprise.

In fact, she felt a bit disappointed at this moment, not because she cared about the bed that much, which she saw as just an ordinary piece of furniture.

She just felt uncomfortable seeing Fu Yu face such a situation.

Wang Kangxu’s attitude seemed gentle and polite on the surface, but in reality, he was relying on being on his own turf, acting aggressively and arrogantly, which Liu Yuqing found very glaring.

She didn’t want to see Fu Yu being ridiculed or met with a cold reception in front of anyone.

Fu Yu turned and said to Liu Yuqing, ”Wait for me a moment, I’m going to make a call.”

Fu Yu glanced at the bed and then stepped aside a couple of paces, dialing Zhao Meng’s number directly.

His purpose for calling Zhao Meng was not to borrow money but to borrow a place.

The newly bought house was not officially renovated yet, so there was no place to set up this new bed.

As for Zhao Meng’s place, it was still vacant, so he could buy the new bed and place it there first. Once his new house was renovated, he’d move the bed back.

Wang Kangxu had made it very clear just now that this bed was the last one of its kind, and if they didn’t act soon, someone else might snatch it away.

He himself didn’t care that much.

After all, a bed was just for sleeping—it just needed to be sturdy and durable.

But Liu Yuqing really seemed to like it.

Fu Yu wanted to make Liu Yuqing happy.

Isn’t it just spending a bit more money?

He could always earn it back later.

With his increasing experience, Fu Yu’s perspective on money had gradually started to change without him noticing.

In the past, he only thought about saving money diligently, and he would calculate carefully for any expense.

Now, having experienced more things and knowing more people, his vision had broadened.

He was not as obsessed over money anymore.

Wang Kangxu glanced sidelong at Fu Yu, who was making a call not far away, snorted internally, then turned to Liu Yuqing.

”Xiaoqing, we...”

Liu Yuqing spoke almost simultaneously, ”Is there a restroom in the mall? I want to go.”

Wang Kangxu quickly nodded, ”Yes, I’ll have someone take you there.”

Liu Yuqing waved her hand, ”No need, just point me in the direction.”

Wang Kangxu personally escorted her to the store’s entrance, carefully pointing out the location, and watched as Liu Yuqing disappeared around the corner ahead before turning back inside.

Liu Yuqing walked briskly to the restroom.

When she got inside, she didn’t go further in.

Liu Yuqing stood in front of the sink and took out her phone to call her sister.

The call was picked up almost immediately after dialing.

”Xiaoqing? Where are you? Have you had lunch?”

Liu Yunong’s voice sounded very cheerful.

Upon hearing her sister’s voice, an indescribable sense of grievance welled up in Liu Yuqing.

She piteously complained to her sister, ”Sis!”

Just one call, and she felt her nose sting, her eyes moistening almost to the point of overflowing.

Liu Yunong knew her sister too well, so hearing her drag out this call immediately alarmed her.

In the past, whenever Liu Yuqing felt wronged, she would call her like this.

Liu Yunong’s heart tightened, and she suddenly felt a surge of anger; if conditions allowed, she’d rush over to Liu Yuqing’s side right now.

”Xiaoqing? What’s going on? Did...someone bully you?”

Liu Yunong’s anger flared up; she tossed the powder puff she was using on her face onto the makeup table, disregarding her unfinished makeup, and got up to head toward the entrance.

Liu Yuqing’s state definitely meant something happened!

She had gone out today for a date with Fu Yu, and now she felt wronged; naturally, it must be related to him!

Liu Yunong took a pair of sneakers from the shoe cabinet, paused as she was putting them on, then switched to a pair of high heels with very hard tips and very thin heels.

Liu Yunong was furious!

She couldn’t even bear to say a harsh word to her own sister. If Fu Yu dared bully her, she’d kick him ruthlessly!

Liu Yunong couldn’t even remember the last time Liu Yuqing used such a wronged tone to call her.

She had always tried her best to protect and take care of her sister very well.

On the other end, Liu Yuqing took a deep breath, clearly trying hard to control her emotions, though with little apparent success, as her voice trembled slightly and was filled with a barely concealed grievance when she made her request: ”Sis, I didn’t bring my bank card out, and the money in my mobile payment account isn’t enough, can you send me some?”

Money?

Liu Yuqing’s online banking account had a disposable balance of a hundred thousand.

She just checked it a couple of days ago.

What was she trying to buy that was so expensive?

So it’s about urgently buying something?

Liu Yunong felt a sense of relief and calmed down a bit.

She asked with concern, ”Xiaoqing, what do you want to buy? How much more do you need?”

Liu Yuqing replied pitifully, ”Sis, I’ve got my eye on a bed, it’s really nice, made of horsehair like I told you before, but it’s just a bit pricey!”

Liu Yunong was taken aback.

A bed?

How did she end up in a furniture store after going out to meet Fu Yu?

Why did she suddenly decide to buy a bed?

After all, the new house had just been renovated and they hadn’t been living there long.

Her place in Bei’an was her only residence at the moment.

The bed there was newly purchased, and the rooms of the two sisters featured identical models of the same brand, all selected and dearly bought by Liu Yuqing.
