The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

If only Fu Yu had a house of his own, then he could easily get whatever he liked.

But Fu Yu doesn’t earn much, so future financial pressure might be significant.

Luckily, with me around, we can work hard together.

Two people earning money is still better than one, right?

And if worst comes to worst, there’s always her sister!

Others rely on parents, she relies on her sister...

Pah!

Everything still depends on oneself.

In the future, I’ll work harder. Once I’ve mastered all the operations and service processes at the restaurant, I’ll go back to assist her sister and inherit the family assets.

When Fu Yu eats, he likes to give others food.

Especially with barbecue, once he sits in front of the grill, his professional instincts can’t help but surface.

Liu Yuqing likes beef, so Fu Yu grills it for her.

Once grilled, he places it on Liu Yuqing’s plate, watching her eat and listening to her speak.

Being with Liu Yuqing, even if it’s just chatting randomly, Fu Yu is quite happy.

Before they know it, they’ve eaten all the dishes on the table, their appetites increased.

He really likes having someone by his side like this, whether at work or in life, someone to talk and share things with.

Fu Yu feels Liu Yuqing is like a shot of Hengshui Laobaigan liquor, forcefully pushing him with no buffer.

Liu Yuqing has a vigor about her that’s hot, spicy, and strong, affecting his senses with a powerful initial taste and lingering aftertaste, igniting a fire in him...

The heat eventually seeped into every pore of his skin, igniting a restless impulse, the source of which he couldn’t identify.

...

It seems women are innately born with a love for shopping.

Fu Yu followed Liu Yuqing, shopping from one store to another starting on the first floor of the Big World.

Whether it’s cookware or daily goods, no matter how long they shop, Liu Yuqing doesn’t feel tired.

From the first floor to the second, she’s still energetic, even more spirited.

Fu Yu finds this absolutely astonishing.

Even with his system-enhanced stamina, shopping still bores him somewhat.

Especially when choosing things like kitchenware stands, he focuses on practicality, while Liu Yuqing wants both style and function.

Fu Yu is most impressed by Liu Yuqing’s ability to precisely pick the most suitable item from two seemingly similar pieces of furniture.

And once Fu Yu sees the items Liu Yuqing selects, he also thinks they’re indeed better than the others.

Yet with two similar styles side by side, he often feels they both seem fine.

Could this be because of affection for her?

Indeed, overly energized hormones do affect judgment.

Just like now, looking at a row of faucets in front of him, Fu Yu feels that as long as the height is right, any style would do.

But when Liu Yuqing shakes his hand and blinks her eyes asking, ”Which one do you think is good?”

Fu Yu just feels that as long as Liu Yuqing likes it, it’s the best.

Thinking in his heart, he can’t help but say aloud, ”Which one do you like?”

Liu Yuqing naturally pulls Fu Yu’s hand, pulling him closer, ”How about this one?”

Coming out from the restaurant, Fu Yu instinctively holds Liu Yuqing’s hand.

And Liu Yuqing seems used to it, allowing him to hold it.

They never let go the entire way.

Fu Yu’s hand is large, his fingers long, practically engulfing Liu Yuqing’s hand completely.

This gives Liu Yuqing an indescribable sense of happiness and contentment.

Turns out holding hands with someone you like feels this good!

In a good mood, even patience seems to have increased.

Liu Yuqing keeps shopping one store after another, and Fu Yu just follows, picking and choosing.

Standing on the escalator going from the first to the second floor, Liu Yuqing shares her shopping insights with enthusiasm with Fu Yu.

”In the future, when you want to buy a kitchenware stand, get the 688 one we just saw, it’s cheap and looks good!”

”The range hood has to be a smart model, because when you cook, your hands get oily, and if you have to press the range hood, it’s a hassle to clean. A smart one is much more convenient, you just wave and it automatically starts working, how great!”

...

Liu Yuqing spoke enthusiastically, and Fu Yu listened, feeling joyful.

The two of them casually browsed various small shops, looking and checking around.

Since they weren’t planning to buy on the spot, they had no set goals or pressure.

However, when they happened to stumble upon a furniture store, Liu Yuqing immediately was drawn to the main feature placed prominently.

A solid wood bed made of white pine, paired with a high-grade natural material mattress.

In other aspects, Liu Yuqing might have only picked up a bit from following her sister around.

But when it comes to bedding, she truly understands.

Perhaps because her family are chefs, both their waists and necks aren’t in the best shape.

Standing and working all day, being able to rest well and sleep soundly is a luxury for them.

Just like Mr. Liu, who back then couldn’t sleep well due to his bad back, having to sleep with a hard board underneath and unable to use a regular mattress.

Her sister doesn’t have issues now, but she avoids soft beds to prevent a sore neck, which disrupts daily work.

Liu Yuqing took note of this.

She often liked visiting bedding stores.

First studying beds, then learning about mattresses, she has quite a bit of knowledge in this area.

With beds made from natural materials, just by looking at the ingredients list, she knew this mattress used ”breathable” horsehair.

Like people’s hair, every strand of horsehair has tiny tubes that can expel moisture and bring in air. Just shaking their tails, horses can shake off rainwater, making horsehair excellent for breathability, maintaining mattress comfort and dryness.

Horsehair also serves as elasticity, acting like tiny springs providing support.

Layer upon layer of treated horsehair is repeatedly placed into the mattress.

Horsehair has a unique tactile feel, each strand curly and firm, fluffy yet textured.

The most valued aspect of this mattress is its rarity.

Each horse gets its tail trimmed once a year, and a Hästens mattress requires up to 10 kg of horsehair as raw material.

Just that alone hints at the astonishing price of such a mattress.

However, Liu Yuqing was most tempted by how this horsehair mattress perfectly conforms to the body’s curves, relieving stress to the highest degree.

It provides a full support feel without sensing the support material’s presence. The mattress fits the body’s curves closely, providing just the right lumbar support.

The store’s guide assumed they were a newlywed couple selecting a bed and gave a detailed introduction.

The guide’s words matched all of Liu Yuqing’s knowledge, giving her a sense of accomplishment.

Looking at this bed again, she gradually felt more and more tempted.

Looking at the bed, Liu Yuqing asked, ”How much is this bed?”

The guide pointed to the price tag on the bedside table, ”The original price is 140,000, but we have a New Year event, this bed is on sale, and if you pay in full, you get a 5% discount plus a special edition four-piece commemorative set.”

”This event is very favorable, considering our store generally never offers discounts, so it’s quite a rare opportunity!”
