The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

[Ding! NPC Chef Zhao Meng’s task: Accurately name all the dishes of the authentic Kaijiang Banquet, successfully completed, reward obtained: One key to the all-fish banquet teaching practice classroom]

Zhao Meng was immersed in memories, his face filled with longing and nostalgia.

Fu Yu successfully obtained the key to the teaching practice classroom and immediately planned to slip away to find an opportunity to take the class.

With his understanding of the system, this key is surely related to the upcoming tasks.

Since he could name the dishes, it’s very likely that he’ll need to cook them as well.

Opportunity knocks but once.

...

Yao Shi heard Zhao Meng’s voice from the phone and was instantly delighted!

Fu Yu knows the authentic Kaijiang Banquet!

If it were someone else, he might be a bit worried.

But it’s Fu Yu.

If Fu Yu says he knows, then there’s definitely no problem.

When they were making the eight-dish eight-bowl feast, Fu Yu said the same thing.

Thinking of this, Yao Shi became somewhat excited.

He glanced at the time; Fu Yu was still at Qianlima at this time, making it meaningless to rush over in the middle of the night.

Freshness is crucial when it comes to river fish, and Kaijiang Banquet dishes are made using freshly killed live fish, requiring no advanced preparation.

Initially, Yao Shi thought of inviting Fu Yu over to discuss the detailed preparations for the Kaijiang Banquet but then quickly dismissed the idea.

Since Fu Yu knows the Kaijiang Banquet dishes, he’s likely familiar with it overall, and if he can cook, even better.

At that time, they just need to list the recipes and prepare all the ingredients in advance.

Then invite Fu Yu over tomorrow and let him take charge of the cooking.

The talented chefs at the music restaurant, with their outstanding skills, only need to observe the cooking operations once or twice and practice a couple of times to handle it well.

Organizing the dozens of dishes for the thank-you banquet in time should not be an issue.

This thank-you banquet must be perfectly aligned with the Kaijiang Banquet.

Such a promotional opportunity can’t be missed!

Today it’s a people’s hero, and tomorrow, who knows what prominent figure might show up; you can never be sure with these things.

Thinking of this, Yao Shi quickly made up his mind.

Tomorrow, under the pretense of on-site service, bring Fu Yu over!

Keep the matter of the thank-you banquet under wraps for now, and only coordinate a wave of online promotion once the TV station has done the official announcement.

It’s best not to leak even the slightest hint before then.

As for Fu Yu taking charge of the cooking, it’s unlikely anyone will specifically inquire about it.

After all, the focus of this promotion is on Bei’an’s specialties.

The Kaijiang Banquet is the main event; as long as it can attract traffic and gain attention, the goal has been achieved.

Beyond that, the music restaurant itself could seize this opportunity to introduce a new Kaijiang Banquet set menu.

In just a few seconds, Yao Shi had mentally designed a comprehensive promotion and marketing plan for the Kaijiang Banquet.

Having thought it through clearly, Yao Shi instructed Zhao Meng, ”Ask Xiaofu if he can cook the Kaijiang Banquet. If he can, have him list out all the ingredients needed for cooking and send them to me as soon as possible. I’ll arrange for the kitchen staff and procurement to get ready right away. But... also remind Xiaofu to keep this matter confidential for now.”

Zhao Meng immediately agreed and turned to Fu Yu, asking, ”Can you cook the Kaijiang Banquet?”

Not will you be able to?

But can you?

Zhao Meng didn’t even realize that he now had a blind trust in Fu Yu.

No matter what kind of feast, as long as Fu Yu says he can do it, it’s basically a sure thing.

As for how he can do it and who he learned from, such questions have been subconsciously ignored.

Who cares how he knows!

As long as he can do it!

True to expectations, Fu Yu nodded: ”I can do it.”

Zhao Meng relayed to the phone, ”He said he can do it, so I’ll have him list the ingredients right away and send them over to you.”

Yao Shi hung up the phone, feeling relieved.

Zhang Zhen and the two chefs were watching Yao Shi closely.

They had also heard what Yao Shi said during the call.

Zhang Zhen’s heart settled, knowing the matter was resolved.

But Chef Liu and Chef Lin exchanged puzzled looks.

Yao Shi put away his phone and said to the three, ”Chef Zhang, arrange the kitchen staff shortly. We might have to work overtime tonight. Given this last-minute order, no one can take a day off tomorrow. Those with special circumstances must report tonight.”

”I’ve already arranged for Fu Yu to take charge of the Kaijiang Banquet tomorrow. The three of you will assist him, and once you’re able to cook independently, Chef Zhang will take charge of dividing the tasks. Make sure all dishes are served on time tomorrow, and for everything related to cooking, follow Fu Yu’s instructions.”

Zhang Zhen nodded: ”Okay, boss.”

After Yao Shi left, Chef Liu tentatively asked Zhang Zhen: ”What does the boss mean by this?”

Zhang Zhen was thinking about the staffing arrangements, paused at the question, ”What?”

Chef Lin also frowned at Zhang Zhen: ”The boss wants us three to assist Fu Yu tomorrow? What does he mean by that?”

Zhang Zhen looked at them and explained, ”Here’s the thing, none of us here know how to make the Kaijiang Banquet, and the few dishes we’re familiar with aren’t enough to ensure the authentic taste. Fu Yu knows the Kaijiang Banquet and can make it. The boss’s idea is for him to be in charge, and while we’re said to be assisting, it’s actually about learning the specific cooking methods from him.”

That’s the explanation.

Chef Liu and Chef Lin exchanged a look, their real question wasn’t that.

Chef Liu gently asked, ”Chef Zhang, what we mean is, is the boss considering having Fu Yu work here long-term in the future?”

Since coming here, Fu Yu had been working under the premise of a part-time title but doing full-time work.

Not to mention the previous instances where he saved the day.

The culinary skills he unintentionally displayed weren’t something an average person could master at his age.

This thank-you banquet is of great significance.

If this Kaijiang Banquet truly becomes known, people in the industry will definitely want to know who the head chef is.

There are no secrets in this world.

The boss’s intentions this time are bound to provoke thought.

You can’t blame Chef Liu and Chef Lin for overthinking things.

The music restaurant’s situation is particularly unique.

For such a large restaurant, there’s only one head chef, two main chefs, and a few lesser chefs in charge.

According to the boss’s intentions, there’s a clear plan to support two more head chefs and promote one from the current main chefs to assist Zhang Zhen.

With business thriving, staffing is evidently tight.

If things went as previously planned, either Chef Liu or Chef Lin would be the likely candidates for promotion.

But now, with Fu Yu emerging as a dark horse with outstanding qualifications, it can’t help but make people ponder.
