The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 417: Chapter 411: The Road Ahead Is Still Long

Hearing about his own restaurant’s ranking in the livestream, Luo Rang couldn’t help but smile wryly.

It really matched his prediction. Although they didn’t make it to the top three, ranking in the middle among these long-established restaurants was already quite good.

At this moment, Fu Yu replied with a message: ”Whenever you have time, you’re welcome to come to our store to taste. I have employee discount, my treat.”

Luo Rang looked at the message and couldn’t help but chuckle, replying: ”Sure, when there’s a chance.”

Then he sent another: ”Chef Fu, our boss also watched today’s review livestream. Guess what he just said to us?”

Fu Yu was a bit curious: ”What did he say?”

Luo Rang: ”He heard that this barbecue takeout was cooked by you, and I also mentioned that the winner of this year’s chef competition is you. He was just discussing with our head chef whether we could poach you over to Four Seas Banquet.”

Fu Yu laughed and replied: ”Your boss must be joking, our two restaurants don’t even serve the same cuisine.”

Luo Rang laughed too.

He naturally knew that his boss was just speaking casually, but he could also guess that his boss genuinely appreciated talented people.

Four Seas Banquet doesn’t lack a head chef, but there’s definitely room for an extraordinary top chef.

After all, specialized talents are very rare no matter the era.

Luo Rang replied carefully: ”Our boss may be joking, but I sincerely think your barbecue skills are amazing. If there’s anything in the future we need your guidance on, you can’t refuse!”

Four Seas Banquet originally doesn’t focus on barbecue dishes; even the barbecued lamb spine has a dedicated chef in charge.

What Luo Rang said to Fu Yu today also served as an opportunity to keep in touch casually.

In interpersonal relationships, the closer you get through frequent contact, the stronger the bond becomes.

Fu Yu politely said: ”Of course not, when it comes to learning, there are many areas where I need to learn from you!”

Fu Yu was sincere with his words.

Luo Rang has been in the industry for over twenty years, and he is known for his good reputation. He has real talent to have a foothold at Four Seas Banquet.

In the chef industry, it’s all about talent, effort, and accumulated experience over time.

If Fu Yu could learn a few tricks or specialties from such an experienced chef like Luo Rang, it would benefit him for a long time.

As for switching from Qianlima, Fu Yu hasn’t considered it for now.

On one hand, he’s waiting to go to the music restaurant with Zhao Meng; on the other hand, after recent learning and practice, he doesn’t want to leave Qianlima at this point.

The situation they’ve developed and the current work atmosphere weren’t easy to build.

Although Qianlima is not a big platform, right now it’s the most suitable platform for Fu Yu.

Here, he can learn and improve at his own pace, rather than rush into focusing on one type of cuisine.

Moreover, in Qianlima now, Fu Yu has Zhao Meng to support him, Yao Shi as a backing, and has just taken over the barbecue section with the boss’s trust.

The development of Fu Yu’s culinary skills is very stable.

Adding to that, he just started a medicinal cuisine business at the music restaurant and received two long-term tasks, waiting to officially integrate into this circle and develop well in this industry.

Fu Yu has a very clear vision of his career progression.

He’s been a head chef for less than three months, and even with a system backing him, the skills he truly masters are only a tiny fraction.

It’s still a time for steady learning and development. When he finishes earning enough experience and learns enough formidable skills, wouldn’t the world then be all open for him to go wherever he wants?

And for now?

Fu Yu understands himself very well.

Although he feels great about his daily work, upon reflection, he realizes he’s merely upgraded a few basic personal skills to an advanced level.

Speaking of the entire culinary field, or even just in the red-cooked sector, it’s nothing but some basic showy skills.

After all, red-cooked cuisine isn’t just about fry-stir-fry-boil types of basic techniques.

For instance, whether it was the chef competition before or the recent classic sauce modification, if not for having timely rewards on hand and relying on the system’s abilities to sneakily learn in a pinch, things wouldn’t have gone so smoothly.

Regarding the indirect compliments from Luo Shang, Fu Yu just smiled and didn’t take it to heart.

He has a clear self-awareness, knowing there’s much to learn and do.

The road ahead is long!

To become a true master, one must have a deep understanding and respect for this field.

For example, Yao Shi, who has been diligently learning various red-cooked culinary techniques since he stepped into this industry in his teens. He is familiar with different red-cooked cuisines and can handle them with ease.

Years of work accumulation and extensive experience mean no matter how particular a customer is, as long as they order a dish, he can handle it effortlessly.

As a chef, only when the path gets wider can you confidently interact with customers and resolve challenges effectively.

Seeing the handshake emoji sent by Luo Rang, Fu Yu smiled knowingly.

The journey is long and endless; I will seek knowledge high and low!

...

In the livestream studio, the ranking for the barbecue takeout reviews had been finalized, but the event wasn’t over yet.

Each of the three hosts had duties to perform; the takeout review was the theme, but countless commercial product promotions emerged as a result of this event.

The livestream studio was Bo Ming’s main stage.

Feng Xiaoxiao and Brother Hua quietly listened to him hosting the livestream sales.

The event had lasted over an hour, yet Bo Ming was still full of energy, actively interacting with fans and passionately promoting various products he endorsed.

This is true expertise!

Sold, it also serves as a chance to rest...

The two had a good plan, but evidently, the director didn’t intend to let them off.

The cue cards were raised several times back and forth.

They were asked to cooperate with Bo Ming and express gratitude to the fans in the livestream studio together.

Feng Xiaoxiao and Brother Hua had no objections to this.

Honestly, they were already quite content with how smoothly today’s event went.

By riding on Bo Ming’s popularity, they enjoyed a wave of heat, and in just one night, their value increased by another ten percent.

Even their respective companies had started to receive contact from major corporations following the trend.

As a result, they would soon be expecting a considerable income.

Feng Xiaoxiao even considered taking advantage of this momentum to push forward with two long-planned projects...
