The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 431: Chapter 425: Cultivated as the Future God of Cooking

As November begins, the restaurant’s business is entering the off-season.

Taking a long vacation isn’t possible, but regular days off each week are allowed.

Fu Yu’s days off are fixed, so Zhao Meng directly deducted that day from the schedule.

Tuesday morning.

Fu Yu rushed to the music restaurant just in time and clocked in as part of the routine.

The next second after clocking in, Fu Yu heard the electronic notification sound for the daily task in his ear.

[Ding! Daily Task: Complete 10 independent frying cooking operations. Task completion reward: RMB +20, Task experience +20]

Hearing the task requirements clearly, Fu Yu sighed silently.

Previously, he had harbored some wishful thinking, believing this time the system was really ready to invest heavily in training him.

It turns out, after less than a month of sharpening, it reverted back to the original state.

While accepting the task, Fu Yu pondered the system’s task issuing pattern.

Over time, he somewhat figured out a bit of the rules.

Long-term tasks are not one after another, completed before receiving new ones, but can be accumulated and completed gradually.

Tasks related to teaching practice classes must be completed in a short time and studied quickly.

Just like this barbecue skill task.

It lasted for almost a month, not only upgrading his barbecue skills to advanced level but also preparing to make barbecue cooking his career transition.

Fu Yu realized.

The system is preparing to teach him all cooking-related skills one by one.

Training him to be a future God of Cooking!

...

The news of Bo Ming holding a takeout evaluation event also spread in the music restaurant.

Everyone gossiped about it, especially when the next day, this news hit the trending topics, making it a popular topic during meals.

That’s the celebrity effect, in the live stream room, after the streamers tasted and complimented the delicious barbecue.

The fans watching the stream felt it was really tasty, their cravings almost triggered.

Zhang Zhen already knew the barbecue chef from Qianlima participating in the evaluation was Fu Yu.

Admiring him, Zhang Zhen’s attitude towards Fu Yu became noticeably more friendly and enthusiastic.

Unexpectedly, even Wang Nuannuan and Li Shu heard about it.

The effects of medicinal cuisine are very evident, and this time after cooking the medicinal dish, Fu Yu needed to adjust the recipe.

Wang Nuannuan and Li Shu had no opinions, leaving all arrangements to Fu Yu.

Wang Xueli had one last treatment, and after discussing with her, Fu Yu directly prepared new medicinal dishes as per the new recipe today.

Among everyone, only Zhang Xueyao, who had classes, had her medicinal dishes prepared by Fu Yu in advance, picked up by her grandmother, and delivered directly to the school.

Busy all morning with various boiling, stewing, and brewing, the back kitchen was filled with enticing aromas, only in front of Fu Yu’s station, a faint medicinal fragrance occasionally drifted.

Although it was a tiring half-day, seeing the customers’ noticeably improved health, Fu Yu felt quite gratified.

Working in the music restaurant is beneficial, as there’s no pressure completing daily tasks.

The restaurant receives large banquet orders, with dozens of dishes per table, each unique.

Fu Yu took over the soft-fried shrimp dish and completed the daily task of 10 independent frying operations in less than two hours.

Listening to the electronic notification sound, Fu Yu opened the attribute panel, looking at the task of 500 times of barbecue cooking.

In less than a month, he had completed more than 400 times, with less than a hundred times left to smoothly finish the task.

Given his clear understanding of his shallow cultural knowledge, Fu Yu eagerly anticipated the vocabulary cookbook in the task rewards.

He initially thought this 500-times task would extend to the end of the year, but judging by Qianlima’s barbecue seafood popularity, it felt like it could be completed easily within a week.

Thinking this way kept him very motivated.

The work at the music restaurant usually quiets down around six in the evening, and once the dishes are served, there’s not much work left in the back kitchen.

Fu Yu joined Zhang Zhen and others for dinner preparation, filled with enthusiasm.

Chef Chen Chen from the barbecue section came over with a plate of freshly grilled sticky cakes.

Sticky cakes were made by the pastry section using glutinous rice flour, filled with black sesame peanut powder mixed with brown sugar stuffing.

Once grilled, the outer skin becomes charred and fragrant, and once bitten, the filling releases a sweet syrup, tasting delightful.

Zhang Zhen took the items, couldn’t help but ask: ”Master Chen, you guys aren’t busy over there?”

Fu Yu had just spent half a month learning barbecue skills from Chen Chen, and they were familiar with each other. After greeting him, he stood by with a grilled sticky cake, eating while listening to their conversation.

Chen Chen frowned and said: ”I was just saying to them, suddenly there are no customers, it’s strange!”

Zhang Zhen laughed: ”It’s still early, the late-night crowd hasn’t started yet! It means we’re lucky to taste Master Chen’s grilled sticky cakes since there are no customers.”

This grilled sticky cake is a real test of skill; if the heat and timing aren’t managed well, the crust will become too hard to bite.

Chen Chen laughed and said: ”The pastry section just delivered it, so I grilled them all, let’s all try them together.”

As he spoke, he looked at Fu Yu: ”Xiaofu, I heard you’re the barbecue chef from Qianlima on that evaluation live stream? You did a great job, I was inspired after watching it. I think you not only have a talent for barbecue but also a knack for presentation and styling. How about helping me out with the barbecue orders later?”

Just as Fu Yu was about to speak, he suddenly noticed a bright ’!’ above Chen Chen’s head.

It meant there was a task!

Fu Yu immediately perked up.

[Ding! NPC Chef Chen Chen’s task: Assist Chen Chen in completing a barbecue banquet order. Task completion reward: RMB: 10 yuan, Favorability +5]

[Accept the task: Yes or No]

The temporary tasks he received now could no longer provide task experience rewards for Fu Yu.

Even the RMB reward was a meager 10 yuan.

Fu Yu sighed deeply.

Seems like he can only hope for long-term tasks from now on.

Choosing to accept the task.

Fu Yu nodded and smiled: ”No problem, Chef Chen!”

Chen Chen laughed and said: ”Great, how about coming with me now? Haven’t had dinner, have you? I’m preparing it now, I’ll treat you tonight.”

Fu Yu quickly agreed: ”Sure.”

After greeting Zhang Zhen, he prepared to head over to the barbecue area with Chen Chen.

In the time it took to speak, when he turned back, Fu Yu noticed the ’!’ above Chen Chen’s head had turned into a dialog box.

Thinking of checking it.

[Chef Chen Chen is close to breaking through to the next level of barbecue skills, engaging sincerely could trigger a side quest.]
