The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 433: Chapter 427: What a Coincidence

Luo Rang looked at everyone: ”Regarding last night’s barbecue review event, I’m wondering what you all think about our restaurant’s ranking?”

This matter has garnered significant attention within the restaurant.

From the owner to the staff, almost everyone has watched this barbecue delivery review live stream.

And as for the detailed evaluations from the three streamers about the barbecued dinners, after listening, everyone generally found them to be quite convincing.

The facts are laid out before us, with the top three restaurants, whether in terms of experience or reputation, all being truly deserving.

Qianlima Restaurant, which ranked first, from packaging to plating presentation, to the taste test evaluations by the three streamers, gave an impression of authenticity and reliability.

Even the barbecue chefs in our restaurant watched the live stream with an expression of astonishment and disbelief.

Could delivery really come with such exquisite plating, possibly even rivaling dine-in experiences?

Or perhaps it’s more accurate to say, could delivery really be elevated to such a high-end level?!

It was precisely because of this, that Qianlima Restaurant emerged as a dark horse, surpassing other long-established restaurants, ultimately receiving unanimous praise from the three streamers and successfully claiming the top spot.

Almost everyone naturally thought it was well-deserved.

After all, Qianlima’s seafood barbecue delivery looked truly appetizing, fragrant, and flavorful—definitely worth a try!

When Luo Rang posed the question, everyone fell silent.

Besides silence, what else could we say?

Our restaurant has neither the hardware nor software to compete with them, apart from conceding willingly, what else can we say?

Seeing no one speaking, and with the owner appearing all ears, Luo Rang impassionedly said, ”In that case, let me share my thoughts first.”

”We never really focused on barbecue. Barbecue skills can’t be randomly mastered by anyone in the kitchen; it’s not something you can just jump right into. Plus, our main dish has always been the lamb spine pot, with grilled lamb spine being more of a side dish.”

”But now, seeing Qianlima’s newly launched seafood barbecue taking off instantly, it’s made us realize the gap!”

”The same newly launched series, the same side dish, yet they can take barbecue to such an extreme level!”

”They’re relying not just on luck, but on emphasis and effort towards barbecue!”

”In our existing perception, barbecue isn’t the main business! But, has anyone calculated how big the profit margin is for barbecue?”

Luo Rang took out a prepared price reference sheet and distributed it to everyone present.

Four Seas Banquet is renowned for its lamb spine pot, and the side dishes in the lamb spine pot include seasonal vegetables as well as various meat ingredients.

Lamb, beef, pork, various lamb and beef offal, duck intestine...

Anything that can be cooked in a hot pot can go into a lamb spine pot.

This naturally includes all kinds of fish, shrimp, and seafood.

”Since the profit margin for barbecue is so large and has such a broad appeal, we can expand the variety of barbecue items in our delivery. The barbecue sauces in our store also taste quite good; let’s have the barbecue section try adding some categories. I’m not saying we can expand this spread to be vast or flourishing, but adding some extra profit to the store is definitely easy.”

The owner of Four Seas Banquet, who has managed his business successfully, is naturally no ordinary person.

After carefully reviewing Luo Rang’s price reference sheet and discussing with the chefs present, he finally made an announcement: ”There’s some time until the store anniversary, so starting today, let’s strive to truly develop the barbecue section. Regarding performance, I’ll draft something in consultation with finance. As for the anniversary promotional activities, let’s temporarily follow Old Luo’s suggestion.”

Luo Rang’s suggestion for the store activity was: ”Spend 100 yuan to buy a 130 yuan voucher,” giving the illusion of a 30% discount, but we tell customers it’s a promotional benefit, not a discount.

Every year during the store anniversary, there are always some promotional activities.

However, the discount strength proposed by Luo Rang exceeded the original expectations.

Luo Rang had long prepared for this.

Additionally, he proposed that if a customer spends over 300 yuan, they’ll receive a complimentary barbecue set.

The set options are temporarily three: small portion meat skewers + vegetable skewers, small portion grilled lamb spine + vegetable skewers, small portion grilled seafood (Pacific saury/shrimp/oyster) + vegetable skewers.

Luo Rang listened to the owner methodically make arrangements and looked at the barbecue chefs around him, who were wide-eyed with excitement.

He thought to himself: Business is like a battlefield. Although they moved a step slower, it’s not unheard of for the latecomers to catch up.

Even if we can’t get a big slice of meat, following up for some soup isn’t bad.

The same situation was happening at Red House Barbecue, Li’s Barbecue, Qilin Private Kitchen...

All the owners of barbecue businesses, overnight, were suddenly enlightened!

They finally began to take their barbecue sections seriously!

Even if it’s not the main business, so what?

As long as it makes money, it’s a good business!

Staff packaging our delivery should also be upgraded in the future!

And the plating, even if it can’t be as exquisite as others, it should at least look presentable, right?

No matter if it can’t increase customer traffic, at least we can’t afford to lose our existing customers!

As thirty minutes passed, not a single order for barbecue delivery had come in.

This made Chen Chen both anxious and restless.

Darn it all!

Meanwhile, Fu Yu watched Chen Chen circle the kitchen counter like an ant in a hot pan, feeling slightly speechless.

This... how unexpected.

Luckily, with the sizable space in the music restaurant, and the barbecue section running for years, no matter how bleak, we wouldn’t really have no orders at all, it’s just there might be fewer of them.

After waiting a bit longer, the front hall’s order taker came to deliver an order slip.

Chen Chen took the slip and smiled: ”It’s him! This customer is a regular at our restaurant.”

Chen Chen handed the order slip to Fu Yu, letting him see the dishes ordered.

Fu Yu looked carefully and, indeed, the person knew how to order well, picking all of Chen Chen’s signature barbecues.

Chen Chen said, ”Since it’s him, it’s easy. He’s easy-going and as long as the food tastes good, there’s no fixed preference.”

The music restaurant mainly deals with large hosted events, and for barbecue, it’s always been focused on delivery, with individual orders as a supplement.

Today, the ordering customer happened to live nearby.

Previously, he accidentally learned about the music restaurant’s barbecue delivery and partly because it was close by, and partly because the ingredients were clean and fresh, he occasionally orders to satisfy his cravings at night.
