The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 415: Chapter 409: Still a Long Way Off

Yao Shi personally tasted Fu Yu’s improved classic sauce and felt reassured.

Finally, he found some time to reply to the group chat and sent a voice message to Luo Rang.

”Don’t worry, Fu Yu is very steady.”

Luo Rang: I’m just being overly anxious like a eunuch worrying more than the emperor, the person involved is really at ease... And here I am, the competitor, feeling all torn inside.

Luo Rang replied with a silly smile emoji and continued to pay attention to the movements in the live stream.

He was still a bit worried. He knew Fu Yu had the skills, but... he didn’t think Fu Yu could be amazing enough to perfectly improve the taste of the classic sauce.

If Fu Yu were a mountain climber, then the classic sauce would be Mount Everest!

There’s still a long way to go.

However, in the live stream, when the three hosts were evaluating the fifth kind of barbecue seafood from Qianlima, Luo Rang was stunned.

This isn’t a mountain climber!

This is a pilot!

Luo Rang watched the three hosts in the live stream happily enjoying the seafood barbecue, feeling somewhat difficult to accept.

In fact, this was only Luo Rang’s second direct interaction with Fu Yu.

But Fu Yu had continuously refreshed Luo Rang’s perspective three times.

The first time was cooking the eight dishes and eight bowls banquet, to be honest, Fu Yu left a very deep impression on Luo Rang that time, so much so that he specifically asked for Fu Yu’s contact information, intending to befriend him.

The second time was when he heard someone mention that this year’s Gold Chef Competition first prize winner was Fu Yu.

That time, Luo Rang vaguely felt that Fu Yu’s culinary skills must have further improved, able to win first place in the chef competition, received unanimous praise from several judges, and even successfully apprenticed under Liu Yunong, the descendant of Lady Liu, a renowned chef.

This made Luo Rang look at Fu Yu in a new light once again.

And the third time, right now, Fu Yu actually succeeded in improving the classic sauce’s taste, receiving unanimous praise from the three hosts in the live stream.

In the live stream, the three hosts had already evaluated all the takeout barbecue dishes, now casually enjoying the food they found tasty while interacting and chatting with the fans, sharing their culinary insights from the tasting just now.

The evaluation was finally complete!

The three collectively breathed a sigh of relief!

Not being able to wholeheartedly savor the food, but having to rack their brains to sort out their thoughts for evaluation.

The joy of gastronomic appreciation, once tied to judging, becomes a burden.

They tasted barbecue dishes from seven restaurants.

It must be said, Qianlima truly lives up to its reputation as a century-old establishment.

Even their newly launched barbecue dishes were highly praised, which is quite impressive!

Especially the final improved version of the classic sauce, it’s rare to see a sauce being elevated to such a level through seasoning.

Barbecuing is a conventional culinary technique usually practiced in a step-by-step manner, mastering the ratio of seasonings and controlling the heat, but hardly anyone ever intentionally dives into improving and blending sauces, understanding the usage of a certain sauce so profoundly and employing it so flexibly.

This showcases one’s own abilities!

Thinking of this, Bo Ming, along with Feng Xiaoxiao and Brother Hua, were quite impressed!

Brother Hua slurped down the last carbon-grilled oyster, smacking his lips with satisfaction, clearly audible even to fans outside the live stream.

Feng Xiaoxiao couldn’t help but turn to look over, seeing Brother Hua’s face full of satisfaction, clearly having enjoyed the meal.

Bo Ming picked up a wet wipe, wiping his fingers while looking at the two hosts opposite him: ”Xiao Xiao, Brother Hua, do you have a conclusion for this review?”

Brother Hua glanced at the Qianlima takeout box that was the only one eaten clean: this is the answer.

Of course, Brother Hua knew that Bo Ming wasn’t asking about that, so he turned the topic over to Feng Xiaoxiao.

In terms of culinary reviewing, he considered himself less professional than Feng Xiaoxiao.

The three of them had been working together for so long, they were pretty much familiar with each other’s patterns.

Bo Ming was responsible for managing the overall rhythm of the live stream, steering the topics.

Feng Xiaoxiao was in charge of dish evaluations.

Brother Hua would occasionally voice his opinions, spending the rest of the time cracking jokes and warming up the live stream’s atmosphere, interacting actively with fans.

Their cooperation was seamless, so Feng Xiaoxiao naturally picked up from Bo Ming’s topic.

”I already have a result, but with two restaurants, I’m a bit hesitant about the ranking...”

Brother Hua fittingly took on the role of the catcher: ”You’re not talking about Four Seas Banquet and Zhang’s, are you?”

Feng Xiaoxiao laughed and said: ”Indeed I am, it seems we share the same dilemma. Four Seas Banquet’s grilled lamb scorpion is really good, with excellent meat quality. This dish, whether in terms of ingredient quality or the chef’s skill, is quite good. What’s particularly commendable is their meticulous attention to the outer packaging, at least during tasting just now, the lamb scorpion was still very warm, and both the texture and flavor were impressive, leaving me with a deep impression.”

”And Zhang’s, known for decades as a professional barbecue establishment, uses real lamb and beef, making it more reassuring to eat, with high-level barbecuing skills. Like lamb kidneys, something that not everyone can make well, they handle it with ease, barbecued to perfection, without a hint of gaminess, and their barbecue seasoning is very distinctive, you can tell it’s their food just by the taste, you can’t find this flavor in other places.”

”Between these two restaurants, it’s really hard for me to decide!”

After Feng Xiaoxiao spoke, Bo Ming thought to himself: Four Seas Banquet’s lamb scorpion wins with its special ingredients, it’s fundamentally incomparable with ordinary barbecue dishes from other places. Although Zhang’s is a long-established name, it actually doesn’t taste as authentic as the Red House Restaurant, another long-established professional barbecue establishment when eaten.

However, soon, Feng Xiaoxiao directly announced her answer: ”Since I can’t decide, I’ll put it aside for now. I’ll talk about the second-ranked takeout barbecue in my mind, which is Red House Restaurant. Their barbecue, in terms of flavor, tasted over and over, is still the best classic! It’s very authentic, nowadays it’s not easy to find such authentic grilled skewers, just for the fact that they’ve preserved my childhood memory of the flavor, I’ll rank them second.”

Brother Hua laughed: ”Then I’ll also choose Red House Restaurant for second place, does it count as fulfilling your sentiment?”

Seeing their choice was the same as his own, Bo Ming went along and shared his thoughts.

The three reached a consensus and then successively ranked the fifth, sixth, and seventh restaurants.

As for Qianlima and Zhang’s, after some discussion, they decided to place Zhang’s in third place.

Because while the lamb scorpion is very distinctive, when made into barbecue, it still falls slightly short of expectation.
