The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 425: Chapter 419: Standing Around Producing Miracles

Seeing Fu Yu, Liu Yuqing hurried over to block his path.

Fu Yu looked at Liu Yuqing in surprise, ”What’s up? Do you need something from me?”

Liu Yuqing had a gossipy expression on her face, ”Hey! Chef Fu, you were there when Chef Yao went to see that internet celebrity, Feng Xiaoxiao, right?”

Fu Yu nodded, ”Yeah, so what?”

Liu Yuqing inquired, ”What were they talking about? Feng Xiaoxiao didn’t do anything to Chef Yao, did she?”

Fu Yu was taken aback, ”What do you mean?”

Liu Yuqing pouted, indignantly accusing, ”That woman clearly has ulterior motives; she’s totally targeting Chef Yao!”

Fu Yu asked in surprise, ”You, do you actually like Chef Yao?”

Liu Yuqing looked as if it was a matter of course, ”Chef Yao is so great, who wouldn’t like him? He’s my dream guy, my idol! Oh no, am I about to have a ’fall of the house’ moment?”

Fu Yu finally understood, realizing Liu Yuqing was idolizing Yao Shi.

So he smiled and said, ”Don’t worry, Feng Xiaoxiao’s purpose this time wasn’t aimed at your Chef Yao.”

Liu Yuqing suddenly widened her eyes, staring at Fu Yu, ”You mean?”

Fu Yu smiled slightly and walked around Liu Yuqing, heading forward.

Liu Yuqing followed closely behind Fu Yu, taking two steps before stopping abruptly, as if something had come to mind.

She looked at Fu Yu’s tall back, blinked, and quickly caught up, asking, ”No, seriously, what’s going on? Feng Xiaoxiao isn’t here to discuss cooperation, is she?”

Fu Yu chuckled, ”It’s not about cooperation, it’s about last night’s live review session. She thought our restaurant’s barbecue was very good and came specifically to meet the chef.”

Liu Yuqing rolled her eyes, ”I also watched the replay. It was because people thought our improved classic sauce had a great flavor. The hosts in the live room couldn’t stop praising it. They say the sauce is versatile, great with any grilled ingredient.”

”Yesterday’s review session had a fantastic lineup, including Zhang’s and Red House! These are all renowned veteran barbecue brands in Bei’an, no wonder the event was so popular!”

”With so many places participating in the review, Chef Fu, without our improved classic sauce, would your barbecue still have come first...”

Fu Yu sighed.

Indeed, they were all veteran barbecue restaurants, but they were all defeated by me!

The restaurant’s improved classic sauce was personally crafted by me!

Though, as the person involved, I can’t really brag about it openly.

The helplessness of being exceptional!

Thinking of this, Fu Yu shook his head, ”Sigh, Liu Yuqing, I’ve discovered that some age-old sayings aren’t necessarily true.”

Liu Yuqing was taken aback, ”Hmm? What saying is that?”

Fu Yu glanced at Liu Yuqing, ”Big bust, little brains.”

Liu Yuqing, ”... What do you mean by that?”

Fu Yu took big strides forward, ”I’ve realized through you that having brains doesn’t depend on bust size.”

Liu Yuqing looked down at her noticeable B-sized chest, ”!”

...

In the evening, barbecue orders at the restaurant exploded, almost all favoring the improved classic sauce flavor.

Yao Shi got the news and came over to inform Fu Yu that the boss had approved the sauce improvement request, rewarding him with three thousand yuan, which the finance department would directly add to his salary.

Fu Yu felt quite pleased inside, but before the smile could reach his face, Liu Yuqing came over to deliver an order list.

Ever since their short chat that afternoon, Liu Yuqing’s gaze at Fu Yu had clearly gained a hint of hostility... and a chilling aura.

Fu Yu silently withdrew his gaze, feeling a bit uneasy inside!

Zhao Meng had the morning shift today, and Fu Yu specifically checked with Jiang Mo, finding out that Liu Yuqing also had the morning shift today.

Thinking about his personal safety, Fu Yu considered maybe treating Liu Yuqing to a meal after work, as a way to avoid disaster through spending money.

Zhao Meng had plans in the evening, and Fu Yu saw him heading to the front, knowing he definitely had a date with Dai Li.

Fu Yu punched out and went straight to the order area.

He hadn’t even reached the spot when he heard a ruckus ahead.

Just then, a server hurriedly rushed to the front desk, saw Fu Yu, and quickly said, ”Chef Fu, you’re here just in time, come over and help out, Xiaoqing has gotten into an argument with a customer!”

Fu Yu was startled and quickly followed the server over.

Rounding the corner pillar, Fu Yu saw Liu Yuqing holding a menu, giving a cold stare at the customer in front of her.

The customer was a mother and son. The mother looked to be in her early forties, and the son was in the uniform of the city’s No. 20 Middle School.

The boy, because of his fair complexion, had a particularly noticeable blush on his cheeks.

His face was flushed as he hesitantly wanted to change his order.

Meanwhile, his parent was looking at the time, impatiently urging, ”If you want to change it, hurry up! We’ll be late for class at this rate!”

The boy was clearly a bit conflicted, ”This crab stick looks good, but I don’t want it spicy, and the original flavor is too bland...”

The Soft-battered Crab Sticks are a signature dish of the restaurant.

They use real crab meat, and once fried, they are crispy, aromatic, tender, and immensely flavorful.

In fact, they taste very delicious on their own, but some customers have a bold palate, so the restaurant also provides spicy sauce and lemon mustard sauce.

This boy didn’t seem to have any decision-making ability and was a bit indecisive, taking forever to say what he actually wanted to eat or how he wanted it.

Time was running short, and the kid still couldn’t decide on a dish, so the parent was getting a bit anxious.

Their child just had that kind of personality; scolding had no effect, so the middle-aged woman turned to Liu Yuqing, ”Aren’t you a server? Why don’t you help with the order? Just standing there, can you sprout flowers?”

A trace of anger flashed in Liu Yuqing’s eyes.

This mother and son had been dragging it out for almost half an hour by now. She had previously introduced dozens of dishes to them, and they had placed orders three times, only to regret each time just as she was about to finalize it, wanting to change dishes.

She wasn’t relying on this job to live, but standing here for half an hour without being able to move, and now being unwarrantedly criticized.

Even a clay Buddha has some temper!

Liu Yuqing, from a young age, had never endured this kind of frustration.

Liu Yuqing, unwilling, said, ”Please speak kindly! I’ve introduced all of the restaurant’s signature dishes to you multiple times, haven’t I? It’s not my fault you’re not placing an order. Sure, I can place the order for you, but if you regret it after, what then? You’ve changed your mind four times already!”

”I don’t mind, feel free to switch, but once the order is placed, and the kitchen starts the fire, the dish can’t be changed anymore.”

The middle-aged woman frowned, ”If you can’t place the order, then hurry up and introduce the dishes! We’re the customers, how are we supposed to know what’s good here? And what’s your attitude? Oh, letting you introduce the dishes and you’re being impatient, is it? Where’s your manager? If you don’t want to introduce, then get someone with a better attitude over here!”

Liu Yuqing was practically laughing in anger.

There’s a kind of unreasonable logic called the customer’s mindset!
