The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 413: Chapter 408: Making a Name Through Taste (Double-Length Chapter)

The gap in shrewdness between people might not be obvious normally, but when faced with special situations requiring on-the-spot responses, an individual’s abilities become unmistakable.

Yao Shi was very anxious at this moment, but he didn’t let this emotion show.

Now that things have come to this, saying more is useless.

However, it’s still necessary to first understand what’s going on.

Yao Shi asked, ”Xiaofu, do you have any good ideas for this improved classic sauce?”

Yao Shi was earnestly trying to understand the flavor of the improved classic sauce Fu Yu made, after all, Fu Yu had given him many shocks before, and he wondered if this time would be another big surprise.

Fu Yu handed over the leftover sauce to Yao Shi, ”This is it, have a look.”

Yao Shi took it, scooped some with a spoon, brought it close to smell, then carefully observed the color of the sauce, and finally poured a bit on the back of his hand to lick and taste.

Yao Shi: ”!”

When the sauce first entered the mouth, it indeed tasted very similar to the classic flavor, but upon careful tasting, there was a noticeable difference.

Fu Yu said, ”Here’s how I think about it, sauce is not just about being delicious on its own, when paired with other foods, especially grilled seafood, it should bring out the strongest effect, then this sauce is successful. A tasty sauce doesn’t necessarily have to have a strong flavor, but its aroma must be clear. So, I wanted to try concocting a sauce that can enhance the taste of any seafood when grilled, becoming an icing on the cake without overshadowing the main flavor...”

Fu Yu passionately revealed his ideas, leaving Yao Shi and Zhang Jinyu stunned.

Zhang Jinyu looked at Fu Yu with admiration.

Chef Fu is truly impressive!

How is it that they all have brains of the same kind, yet Fu Yu always comes up with such amazing ideas?

Yao Shi was equally astonished, not expecting to be hit squarely with another major surprise from Fu Yu.

How skilled is he, exactly?

From the innovative method for salt and pepper mantis shrimp and the creative plating of the bountiful harvest stew, now again in such an urgent situation, a perfect improvement concept was conceived!

Yao Shi pondered for a few moments, naturally understanding Fu Yu’s intention with his years of culinary experience.

When cooking seafood, too much seasoning could actually mask the seafood’s own freshness.

Fu Yu’s improved classic sauce took great care with this aspect in its flavor profile.

It’s not very intense, yet it can overshadow other aromas, making it unique and hard to ignore.

Upon careful tasting, it leaves a lingering sweetness, a very distinctive aroma.

Yao Shi looked at Fu Yu, his eyes barely concealing excitement: ”Xiaofu, the improvement of this sauce is very successful!”

Fu Yu smiled and said, ”I think it’s pretty good too.”

The sauce is indeed good, but it still depends on whether it can gain the approval of the three streamers!

At this moment, however, Yao Shi felt greatly relieved, and he appeared increasingly composed.

In the live broadcast room, the three streamers interacted with fans as per routine before tasting.

In just these few minutes, group chat notifications on Yao Shi’s phone kept pouring in one after another.

Luo Rang asked about the situation at Qianlima several times consecutively but hadn’t received a reply from Yao Shi for a long time, giving him an inexplicable bad premonition.

The classic flavor sauce, which they also had in their own restaurant, is originally a universal sauce, simple to prepare and versatile with various ingredients.

Since it suits the public taste, it is often ordered.

Qianlima’s business has always been good, and Fu Yu recently became a regular employee. It’s understandable if taking too many orders at once led to some mistakes in haste.

However, even though Qianlima messing up would be beneficial for Four Seas Banquet as a fellow evaluation restaurant.

Still, Luo Rang couldn’t help but worry for Fu Yu!

After hesitating for a moment, he couldn’t resist sending Fu Yu a message.

Fu Yu felt the phone vibrate but waited until Yao Shi left before taking it out to check the message.

He initially thought it was a message from the old classmates group, but it turned out to be a voice message from Luo Rang: ”What’s the situation? Is the classic sauce truly made with improvements, or was it a mistake?”

Fu Yu replied, ”I made an improved classic sauce.”

A simple reply, yet it made Luo Rang’s brain buzz for a second.

Improving sauces isn’t something unheard of.

Otherwise, there wouldn’t have been so many different flavors of sauces appearing in the market one after another.

But... Fu Yu improved the classic sauce.

Improving a sauce generally involves adjusting the types and ratios of ingredients to make the flavor special and novel.

However, despite infinite variations, it mainly has to cater to public preference.

If he had created a new sauce flavor, it wouldn’t be so surprising.

But improving the classic flavor sauce seems a bit audacious, doesn’t it?

The classic flavor is inherently paradigmatic, authoritative, timeless, and beloved by people.

To bring a new flair and create a unique path on an already near-perfect flavor, how challenging is that!

However, since Fu Yu said so, he must have successfully concocted it, and very successfully so.

Because, based on their past collaboration, Fu Yu left an impression of being very steady, not the reckless type, nor someone who acts rashly.
