The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 419: Chapter 413: Keeping a Low Profile Is the Ultimate Flex

Zhang Jinyu and Sun Qingning were enthusiastically praising Fu Yu, but Zhao Meng interrupted, ”Alright, it’s work time, be mindful of the impact. Everyone should get back to their tasks. Fu Yu has earned honor for our store this time. I’ll treat us tonight; let’s celebrate at the Liu Family.”

Hearing about the supper tonight, everyone was even more excited!

Zhang Jinyu followed Fu Yu to the kitchen counter and continued working on orders.

As soon as Fu Yu stood still, the system notification sounded in his ear:

[Ding! Task from stream host Brother Hua: Please bring a culinary surprise to the live room and gain approval from three hosts. Task successfully completed. Rewards: Three random prizes.]

[Ding! Long-term task from NPC Chef Yao Shi: Excel in the culinary industry and develop well in this field. Progress (2): Successfully created a new barbecue recipe. Rewards: Title of Barbecue Master, Skill points +20.]

[Ding! Daily task: Improve the existing barbecue sauce and receive customer praise. Task successfully completed. Reward: Key to the Taste Development Practical Class.]

The rewards were plentiful!

A series of task rewards came rushing in.

Fu Yu tried hard to control his expressions, but a hint of a joyful smile still escaped his lips.

This feeling was simply too good.

He successfully improved the classic sauce, won first place in a review activity, Zhao Meng was treating for supper tonight, and he received unanimous praise from his colleagues.

Most importantly, he was one step closer to achieving his long-term task goal, and not many people knew about his stealthy progress and development.

This feeling of quietly having the upper hand made him think of a saying: the greatest show-off is being low-key.

This is the feeling of a hidden mastermind.

But Fu Yu was a bit disappointed that the long-term task from godfather Zhao Meng showed no sign of being completed.

Could it be that Che Yuhang was really that formidable, and he couldn’t even break a single one of Che Yuhang’s achievements?

It seemed like there was still a long way to go...

Opened the three random prizes.

[Ding! Congratulations on receiving random prizes: Writing Skill (Advanced), Language Expression Skill (Advanced), Rhythm Control Skill (Advanced)]

[Writing Skill: Accurately understand word meanings, accumulate a large vocabulary, master grammar proficiently, skillfully use rhetorical techniques, and possess strong language organization and logical thinking abilities.]

[Language Expression Skill: Accurate word use, clear meanings, well-structured sentences, concise sentences, coherent writing, plain language, meeting standards, able to express objective concepts clearly, accurately, coherently, and appropriately, without grammatical errors.]

[Rhythm Control Skill: Language rhythm..., content rhythm..., time rhythm...]

These three skills don’t seem to have much to do with cooking, do they?

Fu Yu tried to think outside the box, besides couldn’t help but sigh, if he had these skills back in school, perhaps he wouldn’t have failed so many essays.

He finally got his long-awaited 20 skill points.

Fu Yu happily claimed the title of Barbecue Master.

[Barbecue Master: Job change skill title. After activation, you can receive a barbecue job change task, and completing it will grant access to a job change skill course schedule.]

Job change skill title!

Job change!

This was awesome!

In typical books, to change jobs, you usually have to complete a series of long-term tasks, find a career mentor, inherit their mantle, or witness some great phenomenon before you can successfully complete the job change.

And now, it just fell into his lap.

Fu Yu was extremely excited to activate the Barbecue Master job change skill title.

[Ding! Title activated! Received barbecue job change task: Join the Food Association within a month. Task completion reward: One spin on the Lucky Wheel.]

Fu Yu listened to the system voice reciting the task requirements; his first thought was that the title was activated a bit early...

Food Association?

Isn’t that the legendary association that’s incredibly hard to join?

Not only do you need an introduction from an association member, you also need a certain level of fame and honored achievements, not to mention passing an assessment and getting approval from the association leaders, to join successfully.

And there seem to be requirements for job duration; in short, it’s not something ordinary people can join easily.

He now only had a month.

Fu Yu suddenly became very curious about how the system planned to push him into this association.

But what Fu Yu was most looking forward to was the Taste Development Practical Class.

Taste development, that would be like a pie falling from the sky.

Having a keen sense of taste is obviously invaluable when it comes to cooking.

A chef’s worst nightmare is getting sick with a cold and having a blocked nose, as it can lead to problems with taste sensitivity during cooking.

And having a keen sense of taste is crucial for those dishes that require precise seasoning.

Using a one-time cooking progress storage disc brought him so many rewards!

Fu Yu was very satisfied with this.

Zhao Meng still had two small banquet orders uncompleted.

Fu Yu took over one order, finally allowing Zhao Meng to breathe a sigh of relief, patting Fu Yu on the shoulder: ”Keep an eye on things for a bit, I’m stepping out for a smoke.”

Zhao Meng had just stepped out when Sun Qingning hurriedly seized the chance while changing pots to come over and chat with Fu Yu: ”Hey Chef Fu, what’s the taste of your newly improved barbecue sauce? Can we try some later?”

Fu Yu readily agreed, ”Sure, let Chef Zhao know, and see if Sun Wei can bring back some oysters for tomorrow so we can improve our meals as well.”

The procurer’s always dealing with seafood vendors, and with seafood like oysters being relatively cheap, it’s never a problem to get some for themselves once in a while, without needing to pay.

After getting the stuff from the procurer, the kitchen would usually cook it and send some back to them as well.

Sun Qingning was just about to speak, beaming with joy, when Liu Yuqing came over with an order list.

Seeing them chatting and laughing together, Liu Yuqing walked over with a gossipy look: ”Chef Fu, what are you two talking about to be laughing so much?”

Sun Qingning, seeing it was Liu Yuqing, joked, ”Our Fu Yu just got famous online. I’m just teaching him how to protect himself, just like, what was it again... Food Spirit?!”

Hearing this, Liu Yuqing laughed and teased, ”Oh, give me a break! With your level, you think you can teach Chef Fu? How about you get some culture! It’s called Food Wars, not Food Spirit!”

Sun Qingning was stunned and said, ”Oh, so it’s Food Wars. I always thought it was Food Spirit!”

Finishing that sentence, he suddenly realized and reacted with surprise, ”Wait a minute! Liu Yuqing, how do you know about this show? It’s supposed to be...”

Liu Yuqing suddenly paused, blinked, and quickly glanced at Fu Yu standing beside her, then retorted to Sun Qingning: ”Hmph! Just because I’ve been spending too much time with you, you got me into bad habits!”

After saying that, she hurriedly and somewhat flusteredly ran off.

Sun Qingning scratched his head innocently and exclaimed to Fu Yu, ”They say a woman’s heart is as unpredictable as the sea! Clearly she’s the pro here, who’s leading who, right Chef Fu?”

Fu Yu was stunned, thought for a moment, then pulled out his phone and handed it over, ”Let’s not argue who leads who; the real issue is that if you have resources, you should share them a bit.”

Sun Qingning: ”...”
